The food was really delicious here! Fresh and pipping hot picarones was the star here. I haven't had them since I was last in Peru and I'm so glad I got to have them again! The service is a bit slow since it is only one person serving as a waitress, but that doesn't matter. The ambiance was nice and quiet. I can tell they do not have many people coming over, but I hope they continue growing their clientele. They are also hiring people if you are also looking for a waiter/waitress job.

Inside, love the warm tones

Call or order in person, they had a hiccup with their online ordering today. Chifa is a Peruvian-Chinese cuisine that mixes Chinese dishes with Peru ingredients. The name itself originates from the Chinese word "chi-faan", "to eat". The main iconic dish is Chaufa, which is also a play on the Chinese word "chao-faan", "fried rice". Look for the subtle differences between the Texas fried rice and the Peruvian fried rice! Order the Chaufa Amazonico which is like a combo fried rice platter. I also ordered the anticucho (beef skewers), taypa special (similar to the happy family or triple delight dish), egg rolls, and chicha morada (purple corn drink). Would highly recommend the skewers and drink!

The poor quality food and the taste was like expired food. The place looks dirty and careless. It's not authentic Peruvian food.

My fiancé and I found this restaurant on a whim while we were out running errands and I'm so glad…read morewe did. The food here is delicious! We ordered the boiled sliced fish in hot sauce (a staple we always get at Szechuan restaurants) and the sizzling with three delicacies (shrimp and fish). The sauce on seafood meal was sooo good! I'm not sure if it's oyster sauce or bean sauce but it's amazing. I just poured the sauce on the white rice and literally ate it like that too. It was a bit cold inside the restaurant so we ordered some hot green tea to warm us up too. Over all great price for a delicious lunch.

Since we ordered takeout, they even offered us a place to sit while we waited, which I appreciated. Here's what we ordered: * House Lo Mein - $14.99 * Stir-Fry Flat Noodles w/ Beef - $13.99 * Sweet & Sour Pork - $15.99 * Crab Cheese Puffs - $5.59 Total came out to about $54.74, which is pretty reasonable for the portion sizes and variety. The food overall was flavorful and fresh. The noodles were cooked well and had a nice balance of sauce without being too heavy. The sweet & sour pork had that classic crispy texture with a bold sauce. The crab cheese puffs were decent crispy on the outside and creamy inside but I do wish they had a little more crab flavor to really elevate them. One small detail I loved: the to-go bags. They were sturdy, well-designed, and matched the restaurant's aesthetic definitely gives that extra polished touch. Overall: Great service, solid food, and good value. Perfect for a casual takeout spot when you want something quick but still quality.

Crawfish were majority good size and I liked the flavor (the one without garlic in the description, I don't remember the name, but I usually lean more vietcajun and less garlicky anything). They did not forget about the green vegetables! The boiled shrimp definitely cured my craving for the moment wanting crawfish. Glad to know they have other options that are just as good when the season is over!

Eating them in as a roll vessel is simply well... magical. I enjoyed these and almost ordered more. The Andra chicken curry was absolutely delicious as well. I enjoyed it and was so stuffed with our other items that I had to save it and eat at home. The portions were great to share or eat for one. My kids 5&7 also enjoyed the kids menu and licked their plates clean up...a rare occurrence. Any place that has momos gets on my list to come back, especially if they are great like they were here! The biryani packed a good amount of spice, which I personally loved. The chicken tikka masala was decent but pretty standard. The paneer dish, though, was definitely unusual and had a flavor that felt a bit off on its own, but it worked better when paired with rice. Prices were a bit on the higher side, especially for a more casual, hole in the wall kind of place. Our waitress said we should try more unique dishes next time. Overall, it's a good restaurant with an interesting, fusion menu. I'd come back to try other dishes and see what else stands out.

Look no further for authenticity, flavor, and complexity in Chinese cooking near the med center!…read more Though we opted for more "simple" dishes during this experience, you can judge a place by if they can do their simple dishes well. The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

Family owned restaurants always have a special place in my heart as my parents were one when I was growing up. The decor isn't the most aesthetic, but what made this place special are the authentic food items they have. It is a mix of Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean dishes. For appetizer, I ordered the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. It was crispy. The flavors of the Thai basils were almost nonexistent, and the flavor was not really there, compare to other places I had. The bowl of the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup was massive. Both my palms fit on top of the bowl! It came with green onions and bok choy on top. It traditionally comes with mustard greens, but this one didn't. The flavor for this noodle soup was spectacular! It does have mild spice level. Service was lovely. Overall, I would come back here again if I ever crave authentic Asian food and don't feel like driving all the way in Bellaire. Next time I will be back to try the other cuisines that they have. Wishing them good luck and prosperity in their business!
