Food taste good, I like that their chicken isn't soft it has a bit of a crunch. I'll order again.. The reviews about the lady in the front are true.

This piece of glass like sharp plastic was in my general tso chicken. They had the nerve to offer me 10% off after almost killing me. Wow!

I found this glass like sharp piece of plastic in my general tso chicken. I called them and told them what happen and they offer me 10% off after almost killing me. The nerve of them please stay away from this place because somebody in the kitchen don't care and the front end doesn't care either.

    Chicken noodle soup

Okay, I know it's not the best picture here but, this is a picture of the BEST chicken noodle soup in the area. Put it this way, I drove about 15 miles just for this soup! Plenty of noodles, tender chicken, carrots, red & green bell peppers & my favorite, cabbage. It just really good. Very homey, and flavorful comfort food. I've tried other items on their menu and honestly every thing is good but this soup is my go to! I hope they never change their recipe because it's just amazing. BTW, I'm not a family member or employee. I always get my soup to go so dining experience is not in this rating.

Food was A1 - service was fast especially for a call in pickup order - inside was clean / had a nice ambiance - new favorite Chinese food spot

I've been going to this restaurant for years for takeout. Every now and then, the order was wrong, but the food had good taste and portions. Sunday, I decided to take my friends and family for an after church meal. We ordered our food, and it came out on paper plates, with plastic utensils. I asked what da?..response " we don't have people to wash dishes" I will not go back. Notice the quality of the paper plates. Dollar store quality. They didn't try to make any type of restitution. They just flooped the food down and walked away.

Ordered this via DoorDash tonight! Very good. Big portions and still hot when it arrived at my house. I normally order beef with broccoli for my 1st order with a new Chinese takeout place. I feel this dish is a good test dish to see where they are at as far as consistency of their dishes. These guys did not disappoint at all! Plus I got a good fortune in my fortune cookie , so that's good. Will definitely order from these guys again!

Orange Chicken with Egg Drop Soup Lunch Special

Came on a Thursday close to 3pm. Got the Orange Chicken Lunch Special $9. Sauce was pretty good but the chicken itself wasn't filling. Not a lot of meat. Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup were ok (I had already eaten half of the soup). Price should be the same for both lunch and off lunch menu in my opinion. You can get the same or maybe more for $9-$10 at another restaurant. Won't name it. Food came out quick but then again I was the only one in there. Quiet atmosphere.

Imagine mala szechuan and panda express had a secret love child. THIS would be the result. This place straddles the line between authentic and Americanized Chinese fair. They definitely have a market though. Coming from NYC, this place reminds me of the usual grungy mom and pops where you go for the msg laden chicken and broccoli, wings and pork fried rice, lo mein type dishes. I liked everything we got (the house lo mein, wings, egg foo young, dumplings, and egg rolls). But nothing really stood out per say. Everything was just avg. Great packaging. Ubereats delivery took almost 1.5 hours but the food stayed warm. Price is pretty reasonable. Final grade : C+ I might return if I'm ever in the mood for cheap fast food inauthentic Chinese food

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

Their service was great, and their extensive menu made it hard to decide what to order! But overall, I didn't feel like being too adventurous, so I ordered the usual: 1) Mapo Tofu: (4.5/5) Pretty tasty! There was definitely a numbing spice, but PERSONALLY not a fan of the addition of ginger, but this is purely personal preference, but something to keep in mind if it's not your favorite ingredient. 2) Eggplants in Spicy Garlic Sauce: (5/5) chefs kiss, you can't go wrong with this. Maybe the Montrose and Bellaire location prepare it a bit differently, but I felt that the Bellaire location did not skimp out on the garlic pieces; I also don't think the dish was very spicy, however. 3) Spicy and Crispy Chicken: (5/5) There's not much to say, but this is another classic that you can't mess up! There are several other dishes that I look forward to trying, and definitely think Mala is one of the best Sichuan places in the area!

The food came out quickly and everything we tried was delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It was extremely busy and it seemed like there were only two servers handling the entire floor. If you didn't ask for what you needed when they initially came by, it was very difficult to get anyone's attention afterward. We had quite a bit of leftovers and couldn't get anyone to come over for to-go boxes or the check I ended up having to go to the front to ask. Overall, great food and a good experience, but they definitely need more staff if it's consistently this busy.

Our go to orders are the hot pepper chicken, cumin lamb, red oil wontons, and Dan Dan noodles. The food is spicy and numbing from the sichuan peppercorn and very flavorful. Get the eggplant! Been obsessed with Sichuan food lately,…read moreand my friend recommended this place. I think we may have went on an off day because I have tried takeout form this place that was delicious, but on this day the food wasn't my favorite. We did overall enjoyed our experience and time and I would recommend giving this place a try! We ordered a total of 5 dishes and everything seemed very authentic to Sichuan cooking. With Sichuan cuisine though, a lot of the food will be on the oily side, so keep that in mind. - Eggplant In Spicy Sauce (5/5): Definitely order this dish! You can tell the eggplant was prepared well because it retained its beautiful purple color and luscious shape. The flavor was sweet and savory seeped well into the eggplant. My only comment would be that there wasn't a strong garlic flavor, but it was still so tasty I think it deserved that 5/5! - Mapo Tofu (2.5/5): I came here specifically for the mapo tofu but was left a bit disappointed. The flavor was pretty good and had that strong Sichuan pepper spice that lingers after a while. My issue with the tofu was the consistency of the sauce. I found it to be very thick and clumpy in an unpleasant way, almost like eating little gelatin pieces. I would probably come back to try it again just in case this was a bad batch, but it's hard to compete with wanna boa's mapo tofu. - Spicy and Crispy Chicken (4/5): Pretty juicy and crispy chicken with a slight kick. I love anything fried chicken so I did enjoy this dish but it was pretty standard and there wasn't much to write about. - Red Oil Dumplings (3/5): Pretty standard oil dumplings. They weren't really spicy which would be good for people who can't handle spice. I think I would've liked a bit more meat filling but overall not bad. - Dan Dan Noodles (3/5): I loved the texture of the noodles but I found the sauce to be kinda slippery which made it hard adhere to the noodles. I also thought the flavor could've been a bit stronger. Service/Ambiance: the interior of this place was super cute, especially the upstairs area. I loved the dim lighting and tiny table lamps which gave this place a cozy romantic feeling. The outside was also interesting with an all black exterior and no sign. That might make it hard to notice or find the restaurant, but that did give it a more hidden feeling which was nice. Parking was also abundant and service was great!
