I continue to return bc it's the only place I can trust to fulfill my egg foo young needs. Its also one of few places that even serves egg foo young. I typically get the house special egg foo young with fried rice and will occasionally add a hot n sour soup. I also like that for a nominal bit more, you can upgrade your rice side to one of their fried rice + protein options. Happy China is a great go to for egg foo young. The facility itself is small, with a few tables added to what was probably a take out only place. Food is very good to excellent, but is served on disposable plates with plastic utensils. Two of us ordered 1 large hot and sour soup, eggplant with garlic sauce, pork egg foo yung and house lo mein. The soup was delicious and plentiful for the two of us. The eggplant was spicy, slightly sweet and well prepared. The egg foo yung was a very large portion and again, was delicious, though the sauce was not the traditional Cantonese brown sauce, but was a glossy dark brown savory sauce. We asked for extra garlic in the preparation of the lo mein and the chef did not disappoint. Last, prices were very fair for the quality and quantity we received. Okay, I know it's not the best picture here but, this is a picture of the BEST chicken noodle soup in the area. Put it this way, I drove about 15 miles just for this soup! Plenty of noodles, tender chicken, carrots, red & green bell peppers & my favorite, cabbage. It just really good. Very homey, and flavorful comfort food. The eggrolls were disgusting and the filling in the eggroll should have been cooked longer before frying the eggroll. Imagine mala szechuan and panda express had a secret love child. THIS would be the result. This place straddles the line between authentic and Americanized Chinese fair. They definitely have a market though. Coming from NYC, this place reminds me of the usual grungy mom and pops where you go for the msg laden chicken and broccoli, wings and pork fried rice, lo mein type dishes. I liked everything we got (the house lo mein, wings, egg foo young, dumplings, and egg rolls). But nothing really stood out per say. Everything was just avg. Great packaging. I dined in before Covid, but now I mostly order to go. The portions size are proportional to cost, and the food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. When I'm not in the mood for Mongolian, I get the Salt and Pepper Wings or the Chicken Fried Rice. The Hot and Sour Soup is also great for a cold night. I've read the comments about the cashier, and she isn't rude, more so straight to the fact repeat your order and give you the costs. Food was excellent! We had apps: pan fried pork dumplings, crab puffs, and egg rolls. All excellent. For our main we had Mongolian beef, chicken lo mein, and chicken with snow peas. The only complaint was the noodles were softer than we would have liked. The chicken fried rice was excellent and the chicken with snow peas had a very generous portion of vegetables. I order my food through Uber Eats and when I got my food some of it was cold.. but that wasn't the issue .. as I'm trying to indulge in my Chicken and Broccoli plate after enjoying the appetizers, as I take a few bites I go for my next one and take a look at it and see a DEAD ROACH on my food.. I took a lot of me to not run to the bathroom... I closed my meal and placed it in the trash.. I called and informed them and the woman who answers the phone and takes the order only said sorry. She didn't know what to do or say. First time going there, the service was not the best at all, we were not greeted, sat ourselves, waited 10 minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us. She was too busy eating her McDonald's. After a while she brought out the appetizers and food all on styrofoam plates and handed us plastic utensils. The cups she brought out weren't even from the restaurant itself. The only good thing I can honestly say is that the food was hot. As for the taste the food tasted as though they poured lots of soy sauce on the meal . As for the place itself the hostess was blasting a movie she was watching on her phone so I couldn't really talk to my spouse in front of me cause it was hard to hear.
