Chicken with garlic sauce + eggplant with garlic sauce + chicken wings
Carissa C.

We're very glad to have Spicy Banda in Pearland to enjoy both authentic and Americanized Chinese food! My hubby and I popped in on a cold Saturday day to a very warm and inviting restaurant. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. Their chicken wings with spicy mayo came out hot and extra crispy. Their eggplant with garlic sauce was cooked to perfection, and their chicken with garlic sauce was steaming hot and went perfectly with fried rice. They also have a drink menu which we'll probably try next time!

Maybe what we order was not all of my liking, hard to give an accurate review honestly, everything was served family style huge portions, they do have the rotating center tables. Here is a list of the menu items we ate. Roasted duck Pad Thai funky Sweet and Sour pork not that great Pepper steak sizzling platter And steam soup dumplings dindt get to try them

Been meaning to post this review for months! Stopped in a while back and was met with great customer service and good food. Portion sizes were decent and everything came out fast but tasted fresh. Would recommend if in the area!

Hot and Sour Soup

Ordered a hot & sour soup and Chicken Pad Thai. I enjoyed both. I liked the crisp crunch of the veggies in the pad Thai. I would have liked a little more pad Thai sauce on noodles but was good.

The ambiance was beautiful. The decor was very nice. Staff was amazing. But the food was garbage to me. I water what I could from my plate but it wasn't good to me. I had the wonton soup and the egg drop soup. I had the general tso and the pepper beef off of the lunch menu. The general tso was better than the pepper beef in my opinion. The beef was very chewy. The bell peppers in the beef plate was all raw. I would have liked it cooked. But it was the consistency of the beef that I would not come back here. The broth in the wonton soup was good but the wonton and the meat tasted off to me. It tasted old. I heard there were 2 chefs. One cooks the food really good and the other chef was not as good. I guess I went on the day when the not so good chef was working. The restaurant was very clean and there was plenty of parking around the restaurant.

I always crave Sichuan food but living in league city the drive all the way downtown to Mala or Lao sze chuan is not worth always worth the time for me. I stumbled on to Banda one day while I'm Pearland and had a pretty good experience with their takeout style chinese and Sichuan dishes like their hot pepper chicken and cumin lamb. The service was great as well would highly recommend in the Pearland/South Houston area.

We ordered 2 lunch specials (pepper steak and sesame chicken) and twice-cooked pork for takeout. The lunch specials came with steamed/fried rice, egg roll, and soup (egg and wonton). The pork was okay. Not impressed with the wonton soup. The rest of the food was okay.

My brother and I have birthdays within a week of each other, so we always do a joint birthday outing with the fam. This year, we wanted something new to all of us so we chose Spicy Banda. Yes I said Spicy Banda. It was once named Spicy Panda until one of the major chains asked them to change their name for whatever reason. They really should leave these locally owned, small business owners alone, but i digress. This spot is located in East Pearland in an up and coming area with lots of new houses, shops and eateries. It anchors a shopping strip with plenty of parking. We came on a Sunday and it was fairly quiet. We did call ahead for our large party and they had a table ready for us when we arrived. A nice lady took really great care of us from start to finish and customer service was great all around. The owner/chef came and checked on us frequently and even ran over to be in our family pics. Spicy Banda specializes in fusion Szechuan cuisine and they do it really well. Our family loves this type of food and we especially love ordering a bunch of things and eating it family style. They definitely don't skimp on portions here and you get your money's worth of food, plus leave with a full belly and leftovers. We usually all order and entrée and pass our food around. Our table came equipped with a lazy Susan which made sharing so much easier. I'll just list what we got with a rating to make it easier. We called ahead to order a Peking Duck which I believe no one at are table other than myself has had. I'm used to getting it in Chinatown, but they do a pretty solid one here. Not as good as some of my favorite spots, but good. It came with pancakes which are like crepes and served with the typical sides of hoisin sauce, green onions and cucumbers. They take the carcass and then make a delicious duck soup that is also served with it. Our crowd now are Peking duck lovers. We also ordered 3 Flavor Pepper Chicken (5/5), Biang Biang Noodles (3/5), Chicken Fried Curry Rice (4/5), Cumin Lamb (4/5), and Crispy Fish in Thai Chili Sauce (5/5). The chicken and fish were the stars of the show and will be a order again item. Everything else was tasty as well though. We were all impressed with the food and very full and content after our meal. Overall, this was a great pick to celebrate our birthdays. Pearland has been surprising me with some of these new locally owned and operated Szechuan spots popping up. Spicy Banda will definitely be going into my regular rotation of food spots!

Use to be good. It's super salty today and the beef was hard like they over cooked it or cooked it twice. Either way I'm not satisfied

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

Since we ordered takeout, they even offered us a place to sit while we waited, which I appreciated. Here's what we ordered: * House Lo Mein - $14.99 * Stir-Fry Flat Noodles w/ Beef - $13.99 * Sweet & Sour Pork - $15.99 * Crab Cheese Puffs - $5.59 Total came out to about $54.74, which is pretty reasonable for the portion sizes and variety. The food overall was flavorful and fresh. The noodles were cooked well and had a nice balance of sauce without being too heavy. The sweet & sour pork had that classic crispy texture with a bold sauce. The crab cheese puffs were decent crispy on the outside and creamy inside but I do wish they had a little more crab flavor to really elevate them. One small detail I loved: the to-go bags. They were sturdy, well-designed, and matched the restaurant's aesthetic definitely gives that extra polished touch. Overall: Great service, solid food, and good value. Perfect for a casual takeout spot when you want something quick but still quality.

The crab rangoon burrito didn't really taste like crab rangoon. It was extremely creamy and heavily filled with cream cheese almost to the point of being overwhelming. After a few bites, it started to feel a bit sickening, and I don't think I could finish more than one slice. It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). It was also overpriced at $16. The service was good and the ambiance was pretty standard.
