Sautéed lump crabmeat in garlic and butter sauce.

Quite honestly, I'm shocked that this restaurant has only 3 5 stars. I have frequented this restaurant several times with my wife and several family members. We have never been disappointed with their food. Although the menu is not extensive, the food here is excellent. My favorite dish here so far is the lump crabmeat sautéed in a garlic butter sauce. The stuffed flounder with lump crabmeat is another delicious dish. The cream of crab soup appetizer is loaded with crabmeat and absolutely delicious. On Saturdays they offer a dozen soft shell crabs for $25. The service has always been excellent. The dining area and bathrooms are very clean. The area is small that has about twelve tables that seat 4-6 people each. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are offered with dinner. There is also a fresh seafood counter for those looking to bring some fresh seafood home. As for the pricing for a meal, expect to pay between $40-$50 per person. The parking lot is very small but there is street parking available. Reservations are highly recommended. In my view, definitely worth it based on the quality of the food and service

Chic's seafood is a little hole in the wall tucked away on the southside of Hagerstown. It's an authentic Maryland seafood restaurant. My fish was great and I was so excited to find a place that serves hush puppies. You can also buy seafood there to take home to prepare. Nice experience.

Large crabs.

Our party had everything from steak to oysters to crab cakes and everyone was happy. Our waitress was exemplary! Great sense of humor and care for us, a party of eight. She took a picture for us that has us laughing a few weeks later. We will be back next time we're in Hagerstown

Food came out at just the right pace between courses. Ambience was only "ok"... I did notice that things looked a bit worn. And one thing that bothered me was that there were ceiling tiles that were badly water stained and sagging... nothing active, but it was very unsightly. Given that they are very easy to replace, leaving them there just made the place feel less "special evening" ambience to more like "a diner" which is a shame for a place i expected to be more classy. As for the food we had lots of positives to say. We tried the crab bisque appetizer which was thick and creamy with just the right amount of seasoning and crab meat. The portion for a first course was generous. We also got the steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. The mussels were cooked perfectly. They were plump, tender and flavorful the sauce was delicious. Be sure to ask for extra bread to soak up some of the broth and juices. The side salads were likewise generous portions, fresh and crisp. Very happy! The main courses come with just one side. I got the fried seafood platter with hushpuppies and my wife got the stuffed flounder with onion rings. The fried platter came with flounder, shrimp and oysters, with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. All were coated in a lightly seasoned breading that was crisp. Not overly thick. The hushpuppies, which other reviewers said were outstanding, I found to be on the sweet side. Crisp, yes, but overall just ok...I prefer mine more savory than sweet. The stuffed flounder was also very well done. Delicious. The flounder was cooked just right. Flaky and moist. The onion rings were thick cut, beer batter dipped. They were hot and crisp and the portion like everything else here was generous. In the end we did need a box to bring some of our entrees home. We left very satisfied. So I was pretty satisfied with the food and the service. Now if they could just do something to get the dining room as upscale as the food and service this would be an outstanding dining experience... thus only four stars instead of five.

The location is beautiful, and the inside of the building is just as impressive. It was warm, spacious, and perfect for a holiday meal. As for the buffet, it offered your typical catered-style items: a mix of brunch dishes and classic Thanksgiving staples. The dessert table was large and had a nice variety. We had one of the last reservations of the day, and I do think timing affected the experience. The food was good, but not great. A few dishes, like the mac and cheese, clearly sat for a while. I honestly believe if we had come earlier, we would've had a different impression of the food quality. The dessert table also showed some signs of being at the end of service, but still had good options. The staff, however, was excellent (well most)! A special shoutout to the Thanksgiving Day bartender--she was friendly, attentive, and very apologetic after an uncomfortable interaction with another staff member. When I asked about drinks, a gentleman (who appeared to be a manager) chimed in with a surprisingly negative and harsh response toward myself and another guest. It created a very awkward moment, and even the bartender was embarrassed by his tone. Based on that interaction alone, I'd hesitate to return if I were in the area again. Shoutout to the hostess as well, she was great.
