Stuffed flounder with crab and lobster over risotto
    Richard E.

This is a new classy upscale dining experience, something that Hagerstown needs more of. Opened just a week ago it is still experiencing a few growing pains so please take that into account when you read my review. They show some real potential and i'm very optimistic that this will be a hot spot for a quality dining experience. This is owned by the folks who already have extensive restaurant experience running the very popular Tapias on Main in Middletown. Olive and Oak offers a range of menu items including crab cakes, salmon, steaks, salads, and appetizers. They have a well rounded wine list, and their specialty cocktails look very tempting. The one we for was delicious. For our meal I for the salmon imperial and my wife got the stuffed flounder. She loved the flounder stuffed with lobster and crab over risotto. My salmon imperial was panned seared with a light crisp coating that frankly was salty. I think it could have been cooked a couple minutes less though it was still moist. However the meatball sized crab cake was deep brown in color and dried out. I do think that with just a few minutes less cooking it would have been wonderful msi course. At the other end in the spectrum the fresh baby carrots and green beans were undercooked to where you couldn't cut then with a knife without worrying they shoot off the plate. I know this might sound discouraging but honestly the potential for a top notch dining experience is there. They just need more practice. Service was courteous and professional. And the ambience was classy and upscale, a very nice place to go on a Friday for a cocktail and appetizer at the bar or a special date night with your spouse. They do recommend reservations for dinner service and from the crowded parking lot every night I've driven by, I'd say that's a good idea!

Had a great dinner with my family. Waitress was very good and everyone was friendly. Will definitely be back. Had a couple great mixed drinks. The espresso martini is one of the specialty drinks made with tequila. My favorite. Steaks were cooked perfectly. The bar is very nice too. We sat in the dining room.

Top with chimichurri, fresh Burrata cheese, filet served with creamy risotto

I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. Had no flavor. Like at all. 1 out of 5. Only saving grace was that a) it was edible and b) the bun was soft. The side of fries was waaaay too salty. Husband ordered 6 old bay wings. He only got 5 and they were all drums. He didn't bother complaining because he said he wouldn't be able to eat 6 anyway. Only had a little old bay on them, but they were nice and crunchy. All in all, I was excited to try The Grain Table, but can say my first impression is that I'm not a fan. Don't see a need to return for the food, that's for sure. Would think that with an entire menu overhaul and social media rollout to get people to come in, the food would meet expectations. Side note, (and not just because I'm disappointed with the food) as I said this the other day when I read it, "The Grain Table" brings to mind crunchy, granola, some might say "healthy" food. The menu does not meet that name by a long shot. The menu is pizza, burgers, wings, chicken sandos, ribs- as you read it, elevated pub food.

Ordered a flight and a mixed drink.  They have beer offering, wine and spirits.  What caught my eye was their flight of Scotch 4 1/2 oz pours for only $14.  WINNING!!!! The Beer: Bunches honey granola cream Ale 5.5% ABV... smooth and crushable! Belgian Dubbel w/ cherry plum & raisins 7.1% ABV... I wasn't expecting the high amount of acidity for this Belgian dubbel. It was a burst of flavor which punched me right in the taste buds.  In a good way. Coattails Double IPA 7.9% ABV...  well balanced IPA, a little citrus, a little hops, slightly sweet and nothing overwhelming. FIRE! French Toast Nightman barrel aged Imperial Stout 10% ABV... dark chocolate and coconut is all I got.  It was semi sweet and tasted a little of extract. Aged 14 months, respectfully throw that back in the barrel and pull it out in a few years. Or bottle it and forget about it for a long while. Dark Passenger cherry vanilla Porter 7.6%  ABV... this one kicked before I could try it.  Maybe next time. The service was fantastic.  The beer was great.  And, I felt totally comfortable in this atmosphere.  Like that t-shirt that is super comfortable, but you can't throw away because it is so very comfortable.  Or your favorite reclining chair.  Suffice to say, I wish I could pack Homaide Brewing in my carry on and take is with me on my flight back to to Florida.

Not huge, but not a hole-in-the-wall either. The back wall informing customers of the bottles that they have behind the bar as well as the food offerings. Fantastic selection of bourbon for all brown liquor enthusiasts. Really, just about something for everyone, and more. Then, there's the aspect That You Don't See as much anymore. The cigar bar offering. A great selection of stogies to light ones fire for a relaxing drink and a slow smoke. But where to smoke this fine crafted cigar? Out on the smoking patio, but of course. Located just outside the bar, this intimate rooftop smoking section invites you just to sit and chill and relax with a few friends. Individual tables are integrated with cushioned seating areas that surround small fire pit tables. Offering a quiet warm place to relax and enjoy a very effortless night with Friends. Would I go back? Definitely. This was a favorite with a group of us that came out here after dinner one night. Great staff, good time was had by all and absolutely plan on visiting again.

When we said it was our first time, they gave us free shots and let us sign the legendary ceiling (which isn't always the case at local bars where regulars are their focus). We also scooped an order of cheesy bread as well and a couple of waters. MARGHERITA: thin on the sauce (which is a heavy tomato paste consistency) so it looks overcooked. Flavor was good but the sauce was nearly dried on - maybe thinning the sauce so it keeps its liquidity more? Don't know. Again - a solid pie (7.2/10) RICKERONI: Cupping pepperoni, ricotta mounds, and some jalapeños . More of a traditional feel here - loved the pepperoni and the sauce. The ricotta looked cool but wasn't my favorite addition. Peppers really had a pop to them. Liked this way more (8.1/10) BIG MAC: Meat, garlic sauce, MAC sauce and pickles - I liked this a lot but I wish I would had ordered more MAC sauce on top - like these style specialty pies (7.8/10) The cheesy bread was good, the pesto very thick on top. Nice large space to sit and eat. Staff was nice and friendly at the pickup window.
