    Beautiful dining room.

The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. The ambiance was perfect. Loved the music. Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong what's not to love?

I had the Borsao red with the Berry Pasta Tagliatelle with Lite Alfredo Sauce , Fresh Strawberries & Shaved Asiago and a bit of bread with olive oil. I had this pasta dish 10 years ago and just was ecstatic when I found it on the menu again. I remember it with blackberries. The strawberries were not the best flavor/sweetness wise but they were adequate, but the pasta and the special Alfredo sauce were delicious and worth the price. I also enjoyed the wine the bartender recommended, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Oysters were all amazing. The hangar steak was very tender and flavorful with great mashed potatoes and green beans. David was a very good waiter. Ambiance was lovely.

Unfortunately, the service timing was extremely slow. It took more than 45 minutes to receive our drinks, and our meal lasted approximately 2 1/2 hours. When we expressed our concerns, we also mentioned that one of our drinks was not enjoyable. Lucas initially offered to remove it from the bill, but then returned with the same drink and explained that the manager had instructed him not to remove it because we had ordered it. We were disappointed by that response, but even more so when we asked twice to speak with the manager and she refused to come to our table. We were simply hoping to discuss our experience, particularly the unusually long service. A manager's willingness to address guest concerns in person is the entire job, and her refusal to do so left us feeling dismissed. It's unfortunate because the food and our server were excellent, but the manager's handling of the situation overshadowed what could have been a great dining experience.

We were a party of 2 and asked to sit outside. The hostess had a table quickly cleaned off for us and were sat within 2 minutes - it's beautiful outside - love the little sting lights, mountain/hills and got to see several trains pass through. Our server was fantastic - I didn't catch his name, but very attentive and friendly. When we ordered the Charcuterie Board, he said we wouldn't be disappointed and he was right. Not only was the presentation impressive - love the wooden boards- it was generous amounts! Two large cheeses (Fontina and Brie), two types of meats (prosciutto and a spicy salami type), candied walnuts, blueberries, mix of Kalamata and green olives, fig jam, and baguette. Great quality, great quantity, and so good! We ended up taking about a 1/3 of it home with us and enjoyed next day with sourdough from Bolivar Bread. The food at other tables looked just as delicious. I'd absolutely return next time I'm back in Harper's Ferry.

The table had an umbrella, so we were able to enjoy the outdoors without being in the sun. We ordered the Cobb Salad ($20) and Red Rice and Hemp Burger ($15) with a side salad instead of fries (additional $2 for the salad). The Cobb salad was very good. Large portion with big chunks of moist chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty. Italian dressing was good. The "Hemp" Burger was a new one on me, but essentially i understand it is a rice-based burger with Hemp seeds for protein. It comes in a large bun with caramelized onion and bbq sauce. I liked it. It has a mild flavor, the patty is pretty soft and the combination of flavors was very pleasant. The "side" salad was large and very fresh. I enjoyed the vinaigrette very much. Unfortunately, our server went AWOL after dropping off our food. We had a question and he wasn't around. My water glass was empty and no sight. My partner's water glass was empty for a while and - I kept looking around - but no sighting. I finally did something I hate to do, which is to call over another server, but we both were thirsty and needed something to drink. That server was very nice and promptly came over with a water pitcher for us. The bad service really wrecked what was otherwise a good meal in a nice atmosphere. So, here's the thing. I considered giving 3 stars for this review based on the service. (We actually thought the server had quit - it was ridiculous - the place wasn't crowded at all.). But, the other servers in the area were working really hard and one did come over quickly to help out, so I'm going to hope for the best. I do want to send a message in this review to the restaurant that this did leave a bad feeling. I doubt we'll be back. Too bad.

I went here 3 times and the third was the worst and last. I was served water that tasted metallic and it really soured my stomach. I was belching/ and had to run to the bathroom to vomit volcano fire from whatever was in the water. It was not water, it was either standing in some chemical or musty because I am allergic to mold but I don't know how mold would get into a fresh pitcher of water. I told them and they smelled it and said it did smell strange and they gave me a bottle of regular water, which was a little bizarre because they initially asked if I wanted sparkling and I said yes because my stomach was already burning and feeling belchy after the few sips of the nasty water..and sparking can help me with the unpleasant feeling... But whatever. The water was sitting on a cart in a metal canister and they poured it over ice, no idea what went to straight metallic nasty flavor and sickening me but water definitely wouldn't cause that! I ordered the same meal 3 times I went . The first time the meat was ok, I sent back for a better sear. Somehow they properly seared it and it was actually decent. Second time meat tasted sour. Like vinegar soaked sour. I have no idea what it was I kept wondering what they marinated it in because it's not supposed to be marinated and they said nothing... so somehow it tasted like a balsamic vinegar mostly on the bottom area but apparently nothing was on it ..I sent it back and just ate bone marrow. Third time it was edible but not really flavorful and definitely more like a choice steak I'd get from Martin's...I had bone marrow and they're good but last time it was unsalted and it was really brown and no white which was strange, tasted ok though visually odd. It's not worth the price they are charging. I only used my points. Also I was se The end point was the cheesecake I was excited about but it was pretty terrible. The crust has copius spice of ginger and who knows what but it's nasty and mushy I thought nutmeg at first and I'm allergic luckily I didn't have any severe reactions. The cheese part is weirdly fluffy and just not really creamy very strange texture for cheesecake, definitely not nasty like local store sugary cheesecake but also nothing like real bakery cheesecake or ones I've homemade. I wondered if it was fresh or not the bottom was rather soggy. I think it's full of flour or starch and mostly a heavy cream or something, there was very little cheese flavor and nothing else really no vanilla or amaretto or any of the usual flavors.
