We really loved the atmosphere of the restaurant--it was welcoming and set a great tone for the evening. We started with the crab dip and Brussels sprouts, and both appetizers were very good. The house side salads that followed were also enjoyable. For entrées, we ordered the ribeye with fries, cooked medium well. Unfortunately, it came out a bit overcooked. We also had the crab cake with mashed potatoes. While the mashed potatoes were good, the crab cake itself was quite small--only a little bigger than a golf ball--and contained a lot of shells. The first bite actually reminded me more of a salmon cake than a crab cake, which was disappointing. Dessert was the biggest letdown. We ordered the peach cobbler with ice cream, but it arrived cold, as if it had just come straight out of the refrigerator. The peaches didn't seem fully cooked, which took away from the dish. Our server was very nice and friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the menu or the dishes. My wife and I were in town for a day, and made arrangements to dine at Branded. We walked in and were greeted warmly by a welcoming hostess. The ambiance was local, hometown favorite vibe. Our server, Caroline, was an absolute joy! She was so sweet and helpful offering suggestions and local favorites. It was Half price bottles of wine night, so we enjoyed an excellent bottle of Caymus California Cab. We both ordered Steaks and they were absolutely perfectly prepared. Went here after the JFK50 Everyone was so friendly and kind! Incredible service and food. The New York Strip my wife got was so beefy flavorful and cooked spot on medium rare. She had a house pepper sauce which she loved. I had the Porterhouse which was well seasoned and delicious! It was more medium than medium rare on the ginormous fillet side but it was delicious also. I got the cowboy butter which was a herbal butter very good but not needed due to amazing steak seasoning. Service is really good. I tried 3 different martinis on their menu and man are they good! They're a little pricey but I think they were worth it. I ordered the blackened chicken fettuccine Alfredo. I wasn't really impressed with it. They used the wrong type of noodles for the dish and the sauce was lacking in flavor. We were a little annoyed that we were told there were no tables available but many were open. I'm assuming they meant to be reserved but the whole time we were there which was about 2-3 hours they didn't seat anyone at those. The resturaunt was really pretty though. I drove by this place about a dozen times, so when my wife asked about eating dinner there I asked..."where is that". My son turned 21 and the family decided to try Branded Chophouse (my wife's friend lives in Boonsboro and gave rave reviews) Between my family and my son's friends it was about 9 of us and we were seated immediately. (we made reservations) It is a quaint restaurant with a bar and seating on one side and more restaurant dining on the other. The wait staff, which consisted primarily of young adults, were the best!! They were respectful, professional and made sure we all were comfortable. I can't comment on everyone's food choice, but I had the Steak Chimichurri as a appetizer and the Bar-b-que Beef Brisket Sandwich. Both were ok..nothing spectacular about the meal. However, many of the other family members got the salmon and they LOVED it. The kids ordered hamburgers and wings. They didn't give rave reviews about their choices either. We were surprised to learn that there was an "arena" in the back half of the restaurant that hosts wrestling matches and concerts....That was pretty wild to see. Also, we were told that they are affiliated with Ilforno and Vanish Brewery. I'm not exactly sure how that works, but we love Ilforno Pizza and Vanish Brewery in Frederick. We've been back since then and had the same experience so I have nothing negative about Branded Chophouse. I would return since it's a nice restaurant close to the house. read more

First time here and I didn't hold back. The setting is great with a nice dim lighting to set the mood for a nice romantic dinner. We ordered drinks from the bar. The house Margarita was excellent and they had a great wine selection as well. We started off with the Buffalo Wings for apps, they were absolutely fantastic. These wings had the best sauce that I've had in Frederick County, I couldn't get enough of them. For my entree, I went with the 12 oz ribeye with a baked potato. The steak was prepared perfectly and well-seasoned. My date got the lobster ravioli, these left a bit to be desired. A bit lukewarm and not much flavor to be honest. A bit of an oily sauce for my liking. Just a warning they do not serve bread or anything else while you're waiting for your food like a typical steakhouse. Let's begin with the service, could not have asked for a more attentive server. It is gorgeous and inviting inside. We stopped in for a late lunch, ordered the crispy Brussels, they were delicious, but cold. Hubby ordered the rockfish with broccolini, it was greasy and cold. I ordered the burger with sweet potato fries, with the exception of the bun, everything was warm, but not hot. This was our second time in, because we believe in second chances. If you like $42 Ribeyes that are gray, with zero seasoning, and 1/2" thick, this is your place. Service was okay, but slow - and the food was mediocre at best - especially for a place that's supposed to be a steakhouse. Braised short ribs were tough and flavorless, swimming in an odd thin liquid. NY Strip looked just like the ribeye, and was also gray and thin. Mac and Cheese was inedible - very salty. Hosted my annual pre-tournament dinner tonight at Branded Chophouse. I run an annual golf tournament and we always have a dinner to kick things off. Here is my review of tonight's experience: - Cocktails before dinner were outstanding. Excellent presentation; high quality cocktails that rival popular upscale restaurants. - Dinner - I think all 8 of us ordered a version of steak. It's clear that they've lowered their cuts to fit the price point of the area. These steaks were very good and I'd order them again. However, there's no reason why you couldn't still have a higher price point cut of beef for whomever might want to indulge. If you had a $65 bone-in ribeye, I assure you some people would buy it. - Service was outstanding. Very friendly and professional service. - To the owners: You absolutely cannot be taken seriously if you close at 9:00 on a Thursday night. You might make the excuse that you don't want to pay staff that late. That's weak. Cut your staff down to a few people. Thursday night is a very popular restaurant night. We felt rushed and we dropped almost a thousand bucks tonight. You should MINIMALLY be open until 10:00 and recommend until 11:00. There is no excuse! - Lastly: you've got a major project next door, getting ready to open and I'd say only 25% of the area knows anything about it. This is a huge undertaking and you should be broadcasting it everywhere. There are so many outlets to advertise for free! You need help marketing!! read more

A large group of us came for a show at Vanish Hall and afterward had a few drinks at Branded. I have to say we had an absolute blast! The music venue was outstanding - great sound, great lighting, big dance floor, and the staff and bartenders at both Vanish and Branded were so kind and accommodating! The drinks did not disappoint in strength or quantity! But, perhaps the best reflection of an outstanding organization is what happens behind the scenes on Monday morning. Stay with me here... After the super fun evening and strong drinks (haha) I realized I had lost 2 credit cards somewhere in Vanish Hall or at Branded, so I emailed them to see if anyone had turned them in. The Director of Operations, C Murray, responded and told me they would check and let me know. I was not hopeful at this point that anything would be turned in or that I would hear back from the Director ... BUT I DID! Not only had they found the items, but they were willing to put them in the mail for me since I live far away. The Director and the team followed through and the cards arrived to me a few days later. This care and concern for customers speaks volumes! Their effort was so appreciated and my faith restored that people do care and will go above and beyond. First dining experience at Branded Chophouse and will definitely not be the last. Quite honestly no complaints. When dining the two things that matter the most the cook and your waiter. A++ some of the dishes we ordered- ribeye steak, blackened chicken alfredo, grilled chicken sandwich, calamari, crab dip, chicken wings, flank steak, ny strip, grilled salmon , Mac n cheese ..... I personally had crab dip and risotto with asparagus/blackened chicken. The risotto was tender n creamy and the asparagus added a nice light taste. The blackened chicken was tender and not overly seasoned. The crab dip arrived hot, as did all of the food, it was rich n creamy - now that I think about it i guess what suggestion would be for more crab to be added to the dip. This definitely will replace Long Horn/Outback as my take out spot when drained from a long work day/ week. Oh almost forget we had 1 waiter for our lathe group he did an excellent job ! I know a few people made substitutions with their food and one last minute drink change and everything arrived as ordered. read more

Food and service were very good. VERY disappointed when they would only accept $100 of our $200 gift certificates. They were from Christmas a year ago but had no expiration date. it was embarrassing for the couple that gave us and the other couple $100 each. As an apology they gave us tickets to future entertainment- which we were not interested in. The tickets were worth well over $100. Would have thought it would have been worth it to honor the certificates to keep the six of us as customers. Won't be back! read more

Solid overall experience. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated for a chophouse. It definitely has the steakhouse/chophouse feel, but elevated. The decor is well thought out, the bar is well situated, and the chefs table is a nice touch. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very nice and attentive but they were very busy. Just from overhearing the conversations I could tell that there are still working out some kinks, but that is to be expected with a place this new and as busy as they were. Now, for the most important part, the food and drinks. The menu is very typical of the style of restaurant which is a good sign in my opinion. The restaurant has an identity and the menu reflects it. I wasn't very hungry tonight so I didn't get steak but I will return. I ordered the calamari and a half wedge salad. As anyone who loves calamari knows, the proper cooking of it is 99% of the battle. I am happy to report that the calamari was lightly fried to perfection. The calamari was well seasoned and the sautéed veggies were a nice touch. My only critique is that, for me, it was screaming for acid. The hoisin based dipping sauce was very tasty but to cut the heaviness of the fried food, an acidic element would have taken this over the top. All in all, I would order it again. The wedge salad is a steakhouse staple and Branded has a very good one. The almost lardon bacon strips were perfectly cooked and although I don't usually love raw red onion, it actually works perfectly because there was much and it adds a really nice punch. One small critique is that there was a large slice of tomato on the plate that was unseasoned, a small detail but it would have taken it from a very good wedge to nearly perfect. Overall, Branded is a very good chophouse style restaurant with elevated touches both in the layout and the menu. The bartenders are very attentive and engaging. Like many new restaurants, it is still working out a few kinks but I have no doubt they will iron them out. The food is above average bordering on fantastic with a few tweaks in my opinion. I look forward to returning with my family to try the steaks next time read more

The food at Branded Chophouse will not disappoint. I had the prime rib. It was a little pricey but cooked to perfection. That is a rare treat and I was pleased it was perfectly cooked. The vegetables and potatoes also delicious. My husband had some French onion soup and wings and loved them. The manager, Tyler, super friendly and informative about what's coming down the road. The ambiance is a little strange, but comfortable. The drinks are amazing and made with pride and care. All the staff were wonderful. I realize that a review is very personal and restaurants have good and not great moments. Our late lunch today was superb. Arriving at 2:00 pm, no reservation, and were instantly seated by a gracious hostess. The setting is casual, industrial chic, modern, with a very large bar. The tables are set apart, securing privacy in an open setting. The kitchen is open and visible to all. The only criticism is the noise level. There is no acoustical material anywhere and the noise level is high, even in a quasi empty restaurant. One can only imagine what a full, nighttime dining experience would bring. Our wait person Cole was excellent, professional, and did not question any of our requests, some of which were a bit out of the ordinary. The food and drinks arrived in a timely way. No undue waiting. The food: The Sesame Tuna Sashimi was indeed shareable, fresh and perfectly presented. The salads were crisp. The French Onion soup excellent. Ample selection of draft beer and wines. However, we went there for the steak! The 10 ounce filet mignons were superb, charred exactly the way requested, buttery, not covered with some awful spice to make up for lack of flavor, served with a 'bit' of shoestring potatoes. The steak stands alone, sending carnivores into heaven and worth every bit of the 55.00 charge. We get it that the price is high, maybe out of the price point range of the area, but given the quality of the meat, it was fair. After reading the various comments, we were prepared for the high cost, however, the quality, the preparation of these filets was top drawer. Yes, all of the sides add up in cost, this is an expensive meal, however, this is a true steak house, sides are al la carte and this is pretty much what one finds all over the country from old Peter Luger"s to Bern's Steak House. We walked in and the ambience is a 4/5, looks cool but could use some more tables since it looked kind of empty. We sit down and the waiter forgot about us for about 10-15 minutes, fine, we flagged him down and apologized. We ordered drinks which were pretty good but we had to flag the waiter for refills and he got my other party members order then left without asking if I wanted one. My sandwich was very good but for $16 I would think I'd get more than a couple fries. The plating wasn't very good. I think there is a lot of room for potential if they get more experienced servers who don't ask if we want our empty glasses removed from the table, adjust the pricing to reflect small servings or give larger servings, etc. it was fine...I guess. read more

I've never given a five star rating until now. We took our family of 4. We got the onion tower appetizer which was amazing even tho I'm typically not a big fan usually. Boys got the wings which we also tried and were probably the best wings I've ever had. And my wife and I got the prime rib sandwich which also was probably the best I've ever had.
