Chicken salad, chick is delicious, but over priced. Having said that, once in a while we'll splurge. Today, our order was so disappointing. The wheat bread was STALE- hard, even though not toasted. The fruit salad was not fresh cut writhing the day, totally soggy. The scoop of chicken salad wasn't spread out on either of our sandwiches, which leaves all 4 corners EMPTY with a big lump in the middle. When you get in the business of making sandwich sandwiches, the whole piece of bread should be covered with product. The lettuce on my sandwich was so soggy and had browns balls and it was one piece of romaine lettuce. I don't think we'll be coming back. It's not worth the splurge. read more

I haven't gone to CSC for a couple of years because of poor service the last time I was there. However, I was on my way out of town so I swung by here to grab a large chicken salad. At check out I made sure to ask for crackers. When I got to my car to put the salad into my ice chest, I saw that they only gave me 6 packs of crackers. Now, my large chicken salad says it serves 4-5 people so 6 packs of crackers is about 1 pack per person. REALLY?? I went back inside to ask about the scant crackers and was told that the policy is 4 packs for small chicken salad and 6 packs for large. I then told the clerk that I would have to go to the grocery store and buy crackers. Her response was basically 'that's our policy'. Great policy CSC. If you were worried about handing out too many crackers, how about asking each customer if they need crackers. Most of the time I would not need any crackers because I would have them at home and I would say no. But since I was traveling, I needed some crackers. Additionally, the grapes in the salad were very large whole grapes and the apples were in large chunks. Not what I'm used to from CSC. While, I have not personally shopped here in a couple years, I have had chicken salad from this location at other events. This is the first time I've had giant chunks in my salad. Went to eat a couple days ago and we were waiting in line forever, the manager in the front, whose name I believe was chris, was talking to the customers in front of us for almost 20 minutes. It was ridiculous. When it was finally our turn to order, a cashier, Juddie, from the back came to take my order and apologized for the wait. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She was very helpful and assisted me and my boyfriend in ordering. When we finally sat down with our food, Chris, the manager, came by and started a conversation when me and my bf were visibly having a serious talk. Really good 'chain' chicken salad! Many varieties. I sampled 2 scoops- original "Classic Carol", and "Fruity Fran", both delicious and appropriately seasoned (I just added pepper). The location I tried had drive-thru, 2 cars in front of me and I thought- yikes, a wait. But was happily surprised with their efficiency when I barely rolled up to the car immediately in front of me- and moved up to the window almost immediately. The woman at the drive up window was very pleasant and genuine in her greeting, payment transaction, and food delivery. My daughter and I are new to Auburn and normally love Chicken Salad Chic-however.....not this location! My daughter loves to get the turkey sandwich and hold the turkey to make it a grillled cheese. One would think this is not a big deal. I was told by the shift manager that they couldn't hold the turkey because corporate didn't like it. I said-well, the customer does so that should matter, right? She said they would not be able to do it in the future. I said, no problem. We will go to the Opelika store from now on. They are accommodating there and have great customer service , the Auburn store can take a lesson. OMG this place is incredible (if you like chicken salad). We were visiting our Son in Auburn and he suggested we have lunch here. The place is spotless clean. The lady behind the register was training and very friendly. I had the Jalapeño Holly on a whole wheat bread. The bread is actually worth commenting on, as it's texture was not as grainy as most WW but held together well and tasty. The chicken salad had a little bit of a bite and was great. I like to order the Trio. It gives you a chance to try a variety of the chicken salads. I usually get a Croissant with one of the Chicken Salads and at least 1 additional scoop but have gotten 3 different scoops. Most often I take 1 of the scoops to go to enjoy another day. This trip I had the Cranberry Kelli on Croissant with a side of Pasta Salad and a scoop of Sassy Scotty. But fast forward a few years, and I'm a solid devotee after discovering the wonder that is the Sassy Scotty. That and the onion-filled Dixie Chick are my jams. I brought some new converts to the new flagship location the other day. It seems a little brighter than the old space and has three different dining areas to choose from. All the employees were smiling and pleasant. Hint: make a left to get to the ordering area. Usually I get the Chick Trio for $8.29 and find that I can't even eat the third scoop. It's a generous amount of food for the price. The Chick also works nicely as a place to meet folks since with around 15 salad options, you can pretty much please everyone. Except maybe a vegan. The cookies are always soft and moist. The grape salad is like a dessert! Yum. Broccoli salad and pasta salad are recommended as well. The chicken salad does taste dry in comparison to other chicken salads but in return comes texture and substance beyond the mayonnaise. I ordered the Barbie-Q, Luau Lydia, Cranberry Kelly. I honestly couldn't really taste much of a difference between Luau Lydia or Cranberry Kelly but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. The Barbie-Q was the winner of my lunch. It has a subtle, BBQ taste. It's enough to fill you up for the rest of the day. Anyways, I was a bit confused on how to order my meal but I caught on quickly with my co-worker's guidance. So first, you choose your chicken salad. Then how you would like it served, choose from four options and drinks sold separately. I ordered : Chicken Salad - Sassy Scotty (a zesty blend of ranch, bacon, & shredded cheddar cheese), served as the Original Chick. The Original Chick serving option includes your choice of any sandwich or scoop and one side item, pickle spear, and a cookie of the day. OH~! Their cookies are soo good. This was our first time visiting a CSC but it will certainly not be the last! This location was very clean and the decor was really cute. The lady that took our order was very friendly and prompt! I ordered the trio and they were out of one of my picks, but with so many options it wasn't hard to find a replacement. Everything I ordered was excellent! Sassy Scotty was my fav. The trio doesn't look like a lot but it was too much for me to finish. I would go with one scoop next time, but if you have a bigger appetite it would be a great choice. The reason I'm not giving this a higher rating is portion size. The chicken salad scoop was tiny and u was still hungry after eating! While advertised as a healthy food option, the calories were still 400, so the small portion size is the reason for low calories, not due to a filling and healthy meal :( I would recommend adding some type of fresh veggies without dressings as an additional option. read more

The menu has a large variety of chicken salad for sandwiches or simply "scoops" and a nice variety of sides to choose from. My personal favorite is The broccoli salad. Considering that we had 4 adults and three children who ordered a variety of salad and sandwich choices and all were pleased with our meal, I would say this is a safe bet for a quick meal without sacrificing quality.
