    Momma's Nachos

Our friends took us here because it is an Auburn staple. The sandwiches we got were good. The nachos, not so much. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't Doritos with melted cheese and jalapeños I had to add myself. Will I be back if we're in town probably. Will it be my first choice? Probably not.

I recently visited Auburn for the first time and received several recommendations to go to Momma Goldbergs Deli near campus. I feel glad that I went because the sandwiches tasted amazing! The staff acted friendly and provided excellent service. If you find yourself near Auburn University and want a good sandwich, then look no further than Momma Goldbergs Deli! Note: it gets busy on game days so expect a line.

The best place on earth. Everything about Momma Goldberg's is outstanding; the ambiance, the experience, the food... and let's not forget the incredible staff who make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Jamison, the manager, is a standout. He's genuinely kind, clearly passionate about his work, and always seems to go above and beyond. My dad lived in Auburn for 12 years when he was a kid, and he loved Momma Goldberg's just as much back then as we do now. This place has such a unique charm that it quickly became our family's favorite spot. The sandwiches here are unforgettable, the kind that keeps you coming back. This location, in particular, is a must-visit when you're in Auburn. War Eagle!

Great place for a sandwich in Auburn. Fun sports bar atmosphere. Was busy but good came out pretty quick

New to the Auburn area, so decided to try out this "staple". It wasn't terrible, but I don't think I'd return. The Mommas love sandwich was good & the bread was fresh & soft. However, the Cuban sandwich was super dry. The nachos were ok, basically Doritos with mozzarella cheese and canned sliced jalapeños on top. For $30 I think their are better sandwich places out there.

I haven't had Momma Goldbergs in Auburn in years, so when I finally made my way down there to visit friends, I knew I had to go back and get my fav college meal. Absolutely cannot go wrong with a Momma's Love and Momma's nachos with a big ol' sweet tea. Absolutely delicious.

Momma G's is deep in Auburn tradition. It is not as iconic as Toomer's or as well known as Hey Day, but it is an important piece of the AU experience. This location is fantastic. On the edge of campus, it's outdoor deck is a good spot for dining with my pup. The restaurant is always crowded, and there is always a wait to place your order. I recommend the Momma Love (roast beef, ham, turkey, and cheese on a seeded bun). It is dressed with lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, and momma's sauce. I think everything works well, although I'm not a huge fan of the steamed bun. The Momma's nachos are Doritos topped with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños. It is placed in a toaster oven to melt the cheese. A novel idea that is unique. It reminds me of the time I mixed salsa and ranch dressing. It sounded odd at first, but worked out great.

Wait a minute, wait a minute... I have not written a review for the OG Momma G's? This is arguably the most iconic college town joint for Auburn (that is still open - with exception of Toomer's of course). I grew up coming here, coming in college and still crave those steamed sandwiches and delicious nachos every time I'm in town. I don't feel as strongly about the vast amount of other locations that have popped up more recently. Perhaps it is the nostalgia. But something about this location just tastes better. I remember standing in the lines out the door after an Auburn victory. They would have up to four lines going to take orders. But only so many steamers to make sandwiches. So it was usually a waiting game. But an afternoon get-together with friends here were also some memories I will cherish. Our last trip to Auburn, we decided not to come here. But my memories here are enough for 5 stars. The nacho's are essential Doritos with melted pepper jack cheese and I add jalapenos. The Big Momma is my go to. Couldn't even remember what's on it (and too lazy to look it up). But it is good. Real good. Get that with a cheap beer (back in the day it was the Momma's brew) and you can't go wrong.

It's okay, tastes like food I can make at home really. It's not bad, the nachos are jest Doritos with square cheese tho. Service was good

There was a limited menu--I assume due to the home game. But it was EXCELLENT. I would definitely go back.

Auburn staple, but the food is just fine. It's a must on a gameday though. Locally known as the crappiest service in Auburn.

My Reuben was soggy and the rye bread was not even toasted. Amount of meat on sandwich was very light and overall not good.

A friend & I got to drop in for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The decor hasn't changed much - it's still comfortable & clean. There's free parking in the front & sides of the building. Love: service (kind, helpful); lobster egg rolls (crispy, delicious filling); turkey wrap (soft lavosh bread, dip in honey mustard & tzatziki); sweet potato chips (best in the restaurant game); toffee cake (moist, added praline pecans for crunch)

Once again it was our annual LSU women's basketball game pilgrimage so Gary, Garrett and I piled…read moreinto Paul's truck and we headed down to Auburn on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
