My girls and I grabbed a quick bite to eat here back on 3/27/19. Our 5-year-old blurted out, "Chicken now, Mom." That was before I saw this place. "Um, okay, kid. How 'bout some manners?" She sighed, "No, I'm reading the sign over there. It says, 'Chicken Now.' Can we try it?" I chuckled as we walked over to check it out. The lady at the counter was friendly. Food was ready within about five minutes. A kid's 4-piece chicken nugget meal with fries and a drink came out to $7.14. The kids' breaded nuggets weren't all that. Seemed overcooked. I opted for the Caesar salad with grilled chicken which was a nice portion of entirely green lettuce, croutons, cheese, and slices of grilled chicken and your choice of dressing. A combo comes with a drink for $10.54. My grilled chicken was juicy and delicious. The salad was fresh and crisp. LOCATION... inside the Montebello Town Center food court near Panda Express. This place was good when it first opened up. Now their prices are horrible and they have diminished their service. They used to include two sauces per meal now they give you one and charge $1+ for a second one that is small in size. They charged my card multiple times and when i show them my bank app they said it did not go through because it was processing. Guess what a couple days later and I was charged $150+ for 3 chicken tender meals that I NEVER received. Also its very unprofessional how they give free toast and extra pieces of chicken without charge to people who im hoping they know. Newly openned fast food spot at the Montebello Town Center. I was heading to Steak and Fries but Chicken Now's friendly cashiers were able to reel me in. I was easily caught in their siren melody, "come here, get a free seuvenir bottle and drink with any meal." They have a cool digitial menu screen, very easy to read. In my "Duh" zombie state I ordered a Spicey Grilled Chicken sandwich with fries, all under $6. The chicken was really juicy and their secret sauce had a nice little zing. Need more spicey? No problem, this baby has jalepenos too. The seasoned fries were hot and crispy, but spread them out or the ones at the bottom will get soggy. Overall, very impressive and I will be going back with my bottle. Get it free while you can. Refills are $0.55. If you miss out, your meal and drink will probably run you around $7-$8. I love this place never had any problems til today. Nothing big but I would have to agree with the other people who have commented about customer service. I've never had bad service with the women (I come here really often since I worked at the mall and have family who work here too) but today I saw someone else that wasn't the usual ladies. Food wise I haven't had a problem. So today I went with my mom to get food for the family. I got two southwest salads an original and a Cajun combo. I payed with my card signed the receipt and as I walked away to the other end to wait for the food. I saw that they had a tip jar. I felt so bad I didn't write the tip amount on the receipt. While I was waiting for the food right in front I was searching through my backpack to see if I had any cash. Lucky I found a $20, at this point I was like "ok I'll break it" so the cashier (David I believe was his name only one in the front) hands me the bag I said thank you but I would be purchasing some toast. I grab everything I had, walked to the register made my purchase. he handed me the receipt and I again waited on the other end. I had $15 left and a $1 dollar bill. Again I felt bad leaving just $1 so I walk to the tip jar and left a $5 bill, at this moment he was turning around, hands me the toast and looks at me coming back from the tip jar. I smile at him, take the toast, grab all my stuff and start walking away. I forgot to say "thank you" and look back and see that he had taken the tip jar from the counter and was looking at me funny. I think he might have assumed I took money from the tip jar and that's why he took it away and I felt soooooo bad. I said thank you and just walked away. God I've been feeling so uncomfortable the entire day thinking and hoping this isn't what he thinks happened, because I come here often and it is my go to spot when working at the mall. Come to think of it - I thought the combo meal was a little pricey standing at $7+ for a standard grilled chicken sandwich and less than stellar fries. Contrary to some of the other reviews posted on here, I pretty much love Chicken Now. It's my go-to food spot at the mall. Today I got the Kids Tender Meal which comes with two pieces of chicken, fries and a child size drink. The chicken is juicy and is made out of this world delicious with the spicy grandma sauce. I am a total sucker for good sauce & I don't know what's in this one, but it's good. My fries were hot and toasty. The meal says it's a kids meal, but I find it satisfying and don't feel like I over ate, its a decent sized portion. I am sure I will be back again...thank you special sauce. read more

Its ALL about the SAUCE! That grandma's spicy sauce will have you kicken for more chicken. Seriously, the chicken is only a vessel to get some more sauce. Don't order a wrap or a salad as they are underwhelming. That is not what Chicken Now is about. Chicken now is about the tenders or the 'sammiches'. The fries are hit or miss. At times they are crunchy and good, at times they are simply OK. I usually get the tender box and they always throw 1 extra in. It tends to be a large amount of food. I don't get the toast, I get the plantains and the fries because I am a Puerto Rican plantain and if I see a plantain on the menu I must have it. The plantains are deep fried and are picked ripe...PERFECTLY...Seriously they are better then some restaurant plantains that I have had. Everything goes in the sauce; the fries, the chicken and the sweet plantains. Without the sauce this place would be a 3 star rating from me (OK, I lie because they have plantains). I bet the sauce is incredibly simple as well. It doesn't matter really, as long as I do not know whats in it they have got me hooked with the sauce. Last Chicken Now review for now, I promise This was the first place that I've had Chicken Now and it was definitely a treat for my taste buds- for mall food that is. Again, with the Southwest Chicken Salad (I'm going for consistency here :p), but definitely got a good size portion, got the bread, chicken was good, and my word- the sauce!! The dressing, which is the sauce for regular chicken tenders, is bomb. Without the sauce, I just have lettuce and bread. Of course it's all bout the sauce! The times I've gone here, the sauce seems to change in its range of spiciness, but it never failed in not being spicy and delicious. Why do I keep going for the salad? I don't know- maybe it helps with not feeling so completely guilty, but it is fresh in the sense that they have some corn, shredded carrots, sliced tomatoes and these tasty crisp tortilla strips as their croutons. The bread that is included is white and soft compliments the salad well. Sometimes I like to gather some of the toppings coated with the sauce and spoon it on the bread. They definitely do have some other options there like the chicken tenders and chicken wraps with some seasoned fries and other items. I'd eventually have to try and give them a go, but for now it's been the salads. This is definitely the choice I go with if I want to indulge in rich, southern, spicy flavors. This place draws you in with their pictorial menu (by the way, everything on it looks awesome) and their free sample. One taste of their tender chicken pieces and you will end up ordering a box. They have a special dipping sauce that is to die for. It tastes like a crossbreed between thousand island dressing and hot sauce. My description could be way off, but you'd have to go try it yourself! I only ate 3 fries because they weren't any good at all. Everytimei come here they never cease to disappoint me. I always get the mashed potato bowl with crispy chicken. The crispy chicken is always super hot once you bite into and the meat is nice and tender, not dry which is pretty impressive. And the fact that its always consistent with their quality is what impresses me the most. Also, the fries are so good!! Very crispy on the outside and hot and soft in the inside. NEVER go to eat anything at Chicken Now at the mall from Montebello, I've been sick during the whole week since I had lunch there, I went to see a doctor finally and I have salmonella !!!!! I feel so miserable, this disease is so painful !!! I had a chicken salad with a caesar sauce on the side, everything had a good taste but I was a bit suspicious about the sauce because it was really warm in the cups, it can only come from this place, I didn't eat anything before or after and I was sick a few hours later until now (7 days). I came here for vacations, I am from Paris, nice vacations for me, I would never imagine this disease could still exist in California !!! Be sure I will do my best to report this place to the government for food poisoning, I can't believe people working in this place can sell unfresh food, they should learn how to keep the food fresh and get rid of the bad ones instead of spending so long perfecting their make up. It had been a long time since I had Chicken Now for lunch at work, but after seeing my coworker eating it for her lunch, I wasn't able to resist and had to go. I had what I would usually get, the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich. It's very flavorful and juicy, but I could've sworn the last time I had gotten it, it was much spicier than it was this time. Was walking through the mall with my friend, she led me to the food court because I was hungry. I couldn't decide what to get because all the restaurants looked good and I was very hungry. I never heard of Chicken Now and never had she so we both decided to try it. I wasn't impressed, I got a chicken wrap with fries. Parts of the chicken wrap were good but overall there was too much lettuce inside and not much chicken. The Fries seemed kind of hard but I couldn't bring myself to eat them all.
