This restaurant is in the same plaza as the movie theatre so if you don't feel like eating hot dogs or theatre food, this is a good alternative. What made me try this place was the smell. I could smell the delicious chicken and teriyaki smell from outside. For me I wanted to try the Teriyaki Chicken snd Tofu with brown rice. My teriyaki bowl ended up being like 20+ dollars so I kinda feel it's a bit expensive. They have different sizes so I ended up getting the biggest one. I see a lot of people just ordering the largest one too. So the basic bowl is just rice and chicken or a protein. If you wanted to add veggies, it's a charge. Most teriyaki places would charge like 1-2 dollars to add veggies. I was charged like 5 dollars ish for veggies. I'm not sure if that's because I ordered a large bowl. The food did taste good, the veggies tasted fresh, the teriyaki chicken had a real good char flavor to it and the sauce is good. I wish they had real sauce containers for their teriyaki sauce because they give you it in a sriracha bottle which looks old and a bit dirty. It's not a full service sit down restaurant so there isn't much of a service. You go up to the counter and you pick up the food yourself. Any napkins or utensils you have to ask them for it. None of that stuff is on the table. You also have to bus your own tray. Overall, it's a bit on the pricey side but it taste good. Their teriyaki sauce is really good and it's not too sweet or salty. The portions were a joke on the chicken and shrimp plate we got only THREE shrimp, barely any chicken, and mostly rice. We also paid extra to substitute fries and were given a bowl of brown, wilted lettuce instead. When we finally got the fries, they were disgusting. I seriously don't know how you can mess up french fries. It gets worse: the $6 self-serve soda had BLACK PARTICLES coming out of the machine. That is a serious health hazard. Staff told us to just keep pouring it out and refill it until it "came out clear." We did NOT drink it. No refund or apology was offered. So, tbh the quality isn't the issue it's kinda a quantity thing, especially with the small bowls, which I don't recommend you getting. The protein coming off the grill is not bad, nicely charred, smoky, with a light marinade, yummy stuff. Locally, a bit east of his joint, there's another teri joint, Raku in Whittier that I believe has the superior chicken bowl game. However, in a pinch I'd definitely refuel here for lunch.
