Went in for lunch today. The front desk employee seemed very busy and overwhelmed but managed to handle everyone's request. However - the cooks were wearing disgusting plastic gloves and touching everything in the kitchen. So disgusting. What's the point of wearing gloves if you don't change them out. They're picking up germs from everything like doors and cabinets in back then picking up meat and vegetables with the same gloves. One thing I have noticed is that whoever the supervisors are, or managers (im not sure about their structure) are, they always seem to be directing their team and leading behind the register. Service has always been great but today was a great enough experience that I needed to yelp about it. Food sometimes has a habit of not hitting the way it needs to but the food was made to perfection. The customer service wasn't over the top or super loud as I walked in it was very calm and welcoming. The two girls working the front were super sweet and on top of everything. Came to the habit burger Grill on Montebello Boulevard. The customer service was beyond five stars. Every time I have come before I felt rushed and as if it was a bother to take my order after coming today, I would recommend this location to everyone the manager, DIEGO. Financial times are tough so when fast food places send us coupons, we use them. This was the first time getting any from here, so I visited the closest one to me which happened to be the Montebello location. When you walk in, there are kiosks, but since I had a coupon , I wanted to talk to a live person. I stood around with the coupon in hand, waiting for someone to notice me since the registers were empty. Then up comes this young man who acknowledged me wholeheartedly as if he could sense my frustration. I gave him my order and some special instructions, and he understood and repeated everything back to me clearly and accurately. This young man was on the ball! Not your typical youngster who keeps a straight face, openly expresses boredom, and gives you the wrong stuff since he could care less since its not his order. I was beyond satisfied with the service. Food on the other hand, I couldn't take a picture because it wasn't flattering. It had the smashed appearance of a typical fast food burger, but it tasted way better! I always do both fries and onion rings when I come here. Very disappointed in my pickup order today, 5/13/25. When I got home to have dinner, I ordered a Santa Barbara Cobb salad and Tempura green beans. Last night my wife and I came from the Montebello mall to Macy's and other store my wife and I were hungry I told my wife I have my birthday gift from The Habit Burger Grill to receive my free Char burger. Everyone can get it you just go to their website or download the app and fill out including birthday very simple. We arrival and look st the menu and see what my wife wants to order. My decided to get the Char burger combo and also Brussels spouts they have on the menu. They give us a buzzer to know to pick up the food. Couple minutes later it buzz I pick up our food. Because I want a good meal from the habit, I avoid this location. The fries are always horrible and never golden and crispy. They're always dark and almost stale. I've been to this Habit a few times before. My boyfriend and I loved their burgers and overall menu. We never had an issue until recently. My boyfriend and I had dinner there yesterday, and I ordered what I always order: The original char. After we get our food, we sit and enjoy our meals. As I take my fifth bite of my burger, I notice I couldn't chew something and pull it out... revealing an INSECT that appeared to be a COCKROACH! I spit out my food immediately, I was in complete horror. I immediately ran to the bathroom. Meanwhile, my boyfriend talks to a regular employee about the incident who then talks to their manager. As they are talking, my boyfriend overhears the manager say "Well what do they want me to do about it?" The worker comes back and my boyfriend tells her that regardless of whether we get a full refund or not, the issue needs to be addressed. The worker then gives my boyfriend a full refund of our meal, and a number to call to discuss about the incident. We leave the Habit, and on our way home we realize that the number they gave us is just a call back number to their Habit Grill location and that they didn't return our receipt. My boyfriend drives all the way back to the location to retrieve our receipt and was able to talk about the incident with a different manager who was more attentive about the situation. I will post pictures of the insect, viewers discretion is advised because it's absolutely revolting. We are extremely disappointed not only with the incident but with the way the situation was handled. The manager on site during the time of the incident didn't approach us at all to address the issue by finding the source of the problem, and she made an unnecessary remark. As for any manager or supervisor reading this, ensure that you attend to an emergency, regardless of your skepticism or if your shift is coming to an end. I've always appreciated the food, but because of the incident and the way that it was handled I'll never go to Habit Grill again. read more

I use to come weekly to this establishment. I even went to to the original habit in Santa Barbara. There use to be long lines here in the Montebello location. Now, the food is not the same. The burger meal was over $14 and the burger was smaller and cheaper looking than a cheeseburger from McDonald's. We should've just went there, or better yet, In n Out.
