We came on an afternoon during the weekday and it was super quiet so we were concerned. No customer or lines always worries! The menu is concise and pretty standard width chicken sandwhich, popcorn chicken, chicken pieces bone in, or boneless chicken. We got the popcorn chicken (which was pretty sad and bland actually), fries (like costcos but not crispy), the chicken sandwhich (decent and would have again), and the boneless chicken (with small amount of mala spice. It's quite tasty but very oily so you get tired of it after awhile. It was flavourful though without too much spiciness) Overall a decent joint but with so many chicken spots on our hit list, this one isn't high on the revisit list.

They have more than just popcorn chicken and strips though, they also carry sandwiches! We had to travel a bit with our take out order before we could dig in. It lasted really well partially because of the smart packaging that had built in holes to let out steam. The packaging was also super unique, mostly Marvel themed chicken characters! I had the popcorn chicken. There were only a few pieces that were all batter. For the most part, they were juicy and delicious. A great option that's open later on the weekdays!

The pandemic happened. I worked from home. I haven't had Mary Brown's for a few years. Recently, was in the western end of Markham. I needed to fetch some dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found a BOGO deal at Mary Brown's. Perfect! The Big Mary sandwich was BOGO. I also got a large mac and cheese, and a small waffle-cut fry poutine. My app stated that it would take fifteen minutes for my order to be ready. I was good taking my time driving northbound along Woodbine Avenue. I needed to make a left turn. I've been to this area before, with Freshii, Pizza Studio, Big Smoke Burger, and more in this plaza. I had an impatient dealer car behind me who honked while there was oncoming traffic and wanted to bypass me to make a turn. I had never seen that move before. If he wanted to get hit by oncoming traffic, be my guest, but don't do a tailspin into my car. I turned left. He gave in and followed suit. Weird. I parked away from Mary Brown's, as there was a tow truck helping out a car closer to the eatery. I realized walking over that I could have parked closer to the entrance. There were spots for pickup orders like mine. I walked in. This eatery is humungous. It was nice seeing St. John's row houses as a backdrop on the wall. I saw a cubicle area where you could pick up orders through the Mary Brown's app. There is a lot of seating and it looked clean. There was a customer ahead of me. I waited patiently before I headed up to the front. I got a nice woman. I showed her my Uber Eats order details. She nodded and grabbed my paper bag with my order. I thanked her and headed out the door. I had my food once I got home. I was excited to have dinner. My Big Mary's sandwich looked small in my hand. I do have large hands. However, this sandwich is a bit deceiving. The chicken was thick. It had a crispy exterior. It was juicy and fully cooked. I loved it. It was filling. The bun with the signature pickle slice on top was yummy. I loved this sandwich so much. I had the other one the following day. I got a large mac and cheese. It's a cold salad. I'm not sure why it has the cheese part in it. It doesn't taste cheesy at all. What's funny is that I don't mind that it isn't cheesy. I like macaroni salad and this version makes me happy. It's creamy and cold. The macaroni is cooked perfectly. I had half the mac and cheese salad during this meal. I had the rest the next day. I consumed all my waffle-cut fry poutine. The cheese curds were stretchy and the real deal. There was lots of gravy, which I love. It was salty, though. Bummer. The waffle fries were yummy. If the gravy wasn't so salty, this poutine would have been excellent. Instead, it was good and I needed a lot of beverages to quench my thirst. It was great finally visiting this eatery. I'm a fan. I need to return for more good eats. (123)

The fries come in different in different colours , with each representing a different flavour. My personal flavour were the yellow and orange colour chicken fries which was turmeric and tomato flavour. The spice level we picked was light and it was for perfect for me - someone who can't really handle much spice The thing I love the most about these chicken fries is it had just the right amount seasoning and crunch too it . Didn't feel really oily either. Price is a tad steep $ 10.05 for fries but since it's actually chicken , it seemed ok . I will go back to buy the actual chicken cup as that seems like a better value and I'll get to pick my fav flavour !

The colouring on the chicken fries is supposed to be natural from ground up ingredient powders. I'm not sure if the owner is taiwanese or mainlander but he was really friendly. Didn't have any tissues and also no washroom at inside this unit, but he went to his CAR and grabbed me some wet naps to clean my hands which was really kind of him. The cutlet itself was breaded well, crispy and the chicken was juicy. The price is kinda steep so if it would've been a lil cheaper I'd award 5 stars. I'm keen to try some chicken fries with cuttlefish or tomato powder on the batter next time. It's a relatively chill spot and I don't think it's as well known as it's competitors, Monga or Hot Star, but it holds its own imo.

My growling stomach and eyes appreciated the nourishment and rest, respectively. He dropped by this Popeyes on Bamburgh Circle. I have never been there, but I used to frequent the McDonald's often over decade ago. My dad says that they are next door to each other. My dad got me a four-piece fried chicken meal. It came with a side, a biscuit, and a drink. My dad knows that I like the mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy and coleslaw. He got me the former, which is perfect to dip the chicken (regular recipe and not the spicy) into the gravy. He also got me a Diet Coke. My meal hit the spot. The chicken was crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside. I love the mashed potatoes with the Cajun gravy. The gravy has a slight kick that compliments the mashed potatoes nicely. Korean food that warms the soul…read more We were excited to visit Bap.Zip in Richmond Hill on a frigid cold day. They feature a simple menu of typical Korean food from hot soup to bibimbap, Korean fried chicken and charcoal grill. The shared meal options are a bit limited but each individual portion comes with a set of different banchan side dishes on a meal tray. The flavours were a tad mild in the donkatsu and the potato in pork bone soup, in contrast to the in-you-face seasoning that I'm used to in Korean food. Pork bone soup ($19.50) was piled high with a sizzling hot broth and 3 sides that surprisingly didn't include kimchi cabbage. King donkatsu ($23.50) featured fried pork cutlet in a truly huge wingspan topped with an aromatic curry sauce; a portion that was enough for two meals. Since one menu item is required per guest, we also had the Kids Special ($14.50) with katsu & bulgogi served in a fun toy car. The dining interior vibes were decent with tables spaced out along each side wall. But the corridor to the restroom and the rooms themselves were messy and dirty which detract from the vibes. Service was friendly with occasional follow-ups and the place got busy during the latter part of our weekend lunch meal. Skip it or hit it? It's good Korean fare in the area. Just note pricing is higher than I'm used to elsewhere albeit with good portions that made up for it.

If you break it down, it's actually such a good deal: the snakehead upgrade is usually +$3 each and their handcrafted drinks run around $6. No extra charge for any of that with this combo, so... why not? I got the scallion pickled cabbage fish soup (mild spice) and my friend went for the Laotan boiled fish (a bit spicier). For the snack, we picked half Taiwanese sausage and half glutinous rice cake to get both savoury and dessert vibes. When the bowls came out, they looked huge, but the portion was kinda deceiving... it's a very wide, shallow bowl, so the amount of actual soup wasn't as generous as it looked. For a fish soup restaurant, I definitely expected a deeper bowl. But the fish itself was fresh with that nice bouncy texture, plus vermicelli and a solid amount of pickled veggies. They also have a self-serve rice station with both white rice and multigrain rice. The rice cookers even have little signs showing when a new batch is cooking, which I thought was cute and convenient. Overall, flavour wise, it was solid and the promo made it worth the visit. But I am not sure if I'd come back again.

They are known for their sauerkraut fish soup that comes with unlimited self serve rice on the side. Servers were attentive, spacing of the seating and tables were tight. Often times people kept brushing up against my chair while getting up to go get their rounds of rice. Although not a deal breaker, was annoying while trying to enjoy your food. The portions are big enough for 2 if you get a large, but since it was our first time we wanted to try 2 different soups. Here's what we got: Chicken wings 4/5 - Came out raw the first time after we bit into it. But quickly flagged a server to let them know how this issue. They brought us a new one shortly after that was perfectly cooked, juicy and crispy on the outside. Laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili 4/5 - Their number one classic so we had to try. It's sour and spicy with the right amount of kick to it. Basa fish filets were also tasty. Came out luke warm. Princess's tomato fish 4/5 - Packed with tomato flavour. Savoury and paired well with the basa fish filet. Came with bean curd noodles as well. Came out luke warm. Easily would be a five star review if both soups that we got came out piping hot rather than lukewarm. Regardless, a great spot for a quick in and out meal.
