This is one of the few occupied places in this odd 'abandoned' wannabe Pacific Mall. It's a very cute spot, with a great mural on the wall and colour coordinated furniture. I got the popcorn chicken and fries, while my friend got the spicy chicken wrap. I was a little surprised that it was dark meat chicken. It was interesting texture-wise, (chewiness) and I do prefer white meat. The fries were great and plentiful. I think I will keep this place in mind and try something else next time, since the service and prices were great!

Ah.. i really like them now. Boss listened and added more seasoning to their fried chicken. Marination is what you'd find from a typical Chinese fried chicken store. The spicy wings are my fave style from abroad.. laoban, let's shake hands haha. Spicy has actual spice in it now, but it's low med. I find the burger sometimes a lil mild but the chicken wings always have a nice spice. BBQ chicken still good as ever! Also the place looks just like the first time I went years ago - very clean. I'll come by more often now if I'm nearby. Wish they sold the chicken wings in bigger quantity tho!

For those who don't know fried chicken and potatoes in all shapes and sizes are my kryptonite…read more Frankies hit all the spots for me! The curly fries caught my attention since I usually have to drive 1.5 hours all the way to Arby's for curly fries. Frankies blew my mind! I ordered it two days straight just so I can try the sandwich and then the tenders on its own. For the sandwich I ordered Nashville hot which was meh... I found the Popeyes sandwich to actually be better but the tenders on its own MY MY MY YUMMMMMMM. Especially the dips they have to offer Frankies signature dip, honey dill, and ranch. I HAD THEM ALL ! The winner is definitely honey dill! For the tenders I got HOT AF and to me it was just right. Nothing killer spicy, it was more of a sweet heat with a very pleasant kick to it..... Frankies you have stole my heart and I am going to be a forever customer for as long as you're open! Btw the curly fries are better than Arby's!

Wow. Just wow. These were one of the best chicken sandwiches I have eaten in the GTA (and I have…read moreeaten plenty of chicken sandwiches). I took advantage of the BOGO deal on Uber Eats and bought 2 Chicken Sandwiches ($8.95) and 2 sides of curly fries ($3.99). The chicken sandwiches were DELICIOUS. I got the Nashville Hot option (Choose between No Sauce (Ho Hum), Nashville Hot or Hot AF) and it was the perfect amount of heat. The sandwich itself is made up of 3 chicken tenders rather than one giant piece of chicken (which I kind of liked!). The curly fries were a little soggy because we got it to go but I'm sure if I ate them fresh in the restaurant, they would be hot and fresh. The fries also had some sort of flavouring on them, I think it might be cajun, which I loved! I will definitely buy these sandwiches again or even just the tenders themselves because they were SO good. Side note about the location: Frankie's Hot Chicken is located inside the Lone Star Texas Grill (which I didn't know so I circled around the plaza about 10 times before realizing it was inside Lone Star)

So many chicken places around town and this one also came recommended so of course, gotta check it…read moreout! We came on an afternoon during the weekday and it was super quiet so we were concerned. No customer or lines always worries! The menu is concise and pretty standard width chicken sandwhich, popcorn chicken, chicken pieces bone in, or boneless chicken. We got the popcorn chicken (which was pretty sad and bland actually), fries (like costcos but not crispy), the chicken sandwhich (decent and would have again), and the boneless chicken (with small amount of mala spice. It's quite tasty but very oily so you get tired of it after awhile. It was flavourful though without too much spiciness) Overall a decent joint but with so many chicken spots on our hit list, this one isn't high on the revisit list.

A different option for fried chicken! It's definitely Asian-style fried chicken with the types of…read morespices they use in the batter. Reminds me a lot of Taiwanese type chicken. They have more than just popcorn chicken and strips though, they also carry sandwiches! We had to travel a bit with our take out order before we could dig in. It lasted really well partially because of the smart packaging that had built in holes to let out steam. The packaging was also super unique, mostly Marvel themed chicken characters! I had the popcorn chicken. There were only a few pieces that were all batter. For the most part, they were juicy and delicious. A great option that's open later on the weekdays!

The perfect soup on a super chilly day!…read more We got the hangover soup (my go-to) and blood sausage soup, along with the pork tonkatsu and fried rice cake appetizers. Both soup were piking hot, so it was extra soothing for the winter weather. The tonkatsu came with an apple sauce? and the rice cake was chewy topped with a sweet and spicy sauce. Service was great and the side dishes were so delicious especially the eggplants. They take card, but cash discount is 5%.

Korean food that warms the soul…read more We were excited to visit Bap.Zip in Richmond Hill on a frigid cold day. They feature a simple menu of typical Korean food from hot soup to bibimbap, Korean fried chicken and charcoal grill. The shared meal options are a bit limited but each individual portion comes with a set of different banchan side dishes on a meal tray. The flavours were a tad mild in the donkatsu and the potato in pork bone soup, in contrast to the in-you-face seasoning that I'm used to in Korean food. Pork bone soup ($19.50) was piled high with a sizzling hot broth and 3 sides that surprisingly didn't include kimchi cabbage. King donkatsu ($23.50) featured fried pork cutlet in a truly huge wingspan topped with an aromatic curry sauce; a portion that was enough for two meals. Since one menu item is required per guest, we also had the Kids Special ($14.50) with katsu & bulgogi served in a fun toy car. The dining interior vibes were decent with tables spaced out along each side wall. But the corridor to the restroom and the rooms themselves were messy and dirty which detract from the vibes. Service was friendly with occasional follow-ups and the place got busy during the latter part of our weekend lunch meal. Skip it or hit it? It's good Korean fare in the area. Just note pricing is higher than I'm used to elsewhere albeit with good portions that made up for it.

Church's Texas Chicken - Honey butter biscuit

Well, things have changed. Pizza Hut takes up maybe a third of its old building. The other two-thirds is now this Church's chicken joint. I love Church's. Yes, its marketing tends to focus on its fried chicken, chicken tenders, and chicken sandwiches. I love everything. You know what my favourite item is at Church's? It has nothing to do with chicken. It's the honey butter biscuit. This biscuit is delicious. It's fluffy. It has a nice honey butter glaze on top that's crispy, slightly sweet, and perfect. I dropped by Church's first. It was nice seeing seating at this eatery. There were a few folks waiting for their food. I let a couple grab their food before I approached the counter. I saw the biscuits behind the friendly woman who said hi and asked how I was. My mouth was salivating. I felt bad for the pizza that I had ordered. I got three biscuits. I paid with a credit card. I tapped. Done! She grabbed three biscuits and put them in a paper bag. I thanked her and left with my goodies. I hit Pizza Hut before I put all my food in an insulated bag for pizza. I then headed home. I had a honey butter biscuit straight out of the bag. It was still hot. It was so good. Oh, how I have missed how fluffy and yummy this biscuit is! A seasonal item on Church's menu is a sundae that has a biscuit in it. I haven't had it, but I want to make my own at home. Let's see if I can make one before I devour the other two biscuits. I liked visiting this Church's. It is the closest one to my home. I'll be back soon! (92)

Late 1990s I lived near Canada's first Harvey's location in Richmond Hill…read more Because of the joint venture b/w Harvey's and Church's, I distinctly remember eating like a king as a kid. A Harvey's angus burger with some onion rings + some Church's bone-in chicken with some of their biscuits. THAT WAS IT FOLKS. So sad that the joint venture doesn't exist anymore. While their signature chicken is good, my claim (bold but not controversial) is that the honey butter biscuits are better than their chicken. In fact, I think the biscuits at Church's are the best fast food biscuits in the game right now. Super fluffy and moist on the inside but with the crispy, sweet exterior. Popeye's could never w/ their biscuits. The one thing I think Church's has them beat on is the biscuits. I've also tried the jalapeno bombers and they're just mid imo. But surprisingly, the mashed potatoes w/ gravy was actually not bad! Definitely not beating the gravy over at Mary Brown's though.
