This chick-fil-A is a joke, I like the food but the service is so awful. The order takers can never seem to get it right, they always seem to forget something., there are to may kids doing nothing working inside and not enough outside, the ones inside are playing right in front of the managers and by the time I received my order that wasn't included through the drive through, my food was already cold, they really need to nip it in the butt. They need to get rid of people and let the managers do the job since they don't want to take control! read more

This is my first time at this franchise. When I mentioned this to my friends over Facebook, a few of them were shocked, as if I've been living under a rock. Remembering that there was a location along the way, I stopped by today on my way to a gig. This is the impression I have of the place. Like most parts of this area, parking is ample and easy to get. Chick-fil-A shares a lot in a strip mall. Upland in general is a nice area, and it holds true here as well. I was greeted kindly when I entered the door. In many ways, the place is very similar to Wendy's in decor. The place is fairly spacious, with an indoor play area for the kids. As such, you may get the occasional screaming child. Men and women's restrooms - clean and pleasant (at least on the guy's side), like their dining area. No music playing in the background, with the only noise being the consumers' chatter. I ordered the Spicy Chicken combo, which ended up costing $7.49. Came with a large order of criss-cross fries. The chicken sandwich was fresh, and the chicken is better than in most fast food places as far as taste and size. They have a whole bunch of sauces. I've only tried about half of them. Not a big fan of the Chick-fil-A sauce, as it tastes like a mix of mayo and BBQ sauce. The Polynesian sauce is like sweet-and-sour, and the buffalo is basically hot sauce. I'm writing this review on their wifi network. No time limit. But no power outlets either. Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays, as their business roots originated from Christian owners. I'm very tempted to give the place a 5. The pricing is still a bit higher than I'd like though. Had a brief battle with a fly as well. Still, it's one of the better chicken sandwiches I've had. "And on the seventh day, God rested and ate at Chick-fil-a". Just a slight hint of exaggeration, but I have never seen a corporate fast-food chain have guests say grace before eating. Like In-n-Out, Chick-fil-a is a hyphenated evangelical entity famous for dishing out Christian Americana in sly ways. Except that Chick-fil-a's Deep South roots make them a little less discrete about it than In-n-Out. They are closed on Sundays for example. If you look closely at Da Vinci's Last Supper painting, you notice Chick-fil-a was Jesus' last meal. Just before He got nailed non-sexually, Jesus dined on manna which consists of a Spicy Chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and Coke Zero. By itself, the waffle fries make you long for In-n-Out's fries. But you can dip them into various sauces like Honey Mustard, Chick-fil-a's own sauce, or Polynesian (taste like Katsu). Though there are Chick-fil-as around me, I go out of my way for this Upland location. The staff is friendlier, and the dining experience is different because it attracts a different crowd than the ones that litter SoCal strip malls. read more

While most Yelp*ers were out partying on New Years Eve, I was at home watching the Chik-Fil-A Bowl football game. It was a particularly rewarding game, my reward being a free Spicy Chicken Biscuit. And no I wouldn't drive the 60 miles from Encino to upland to save $2.35 on a Chicken Biscuit, but since I had to be out in that neck of the woods anyways, I went online, printed the voucher, and took advantage. I also ordered an extra-large Diet lemonade which was outstanding, and an order of what they call hash browns, but I would call hash brown nuggets. They were greasy and meh, although weren't too bad after I helped my self to a packet of Buffalo Sauce. The Spicy Chicken Biscuit was the star though, they use a whole chicken breast rather than the particle board chicken you find at BK or Carl's and gave it a solid buffalo wing taste without drowning the chicken, It is served sans condiments, which is a good thing as none were necessary and the fresh biscuit barely stood up to the weight of the chicken. There was a little crumble, but the biscuit did basically hold. As for the decor, it is one of the nicest fast food places you will find. The employees seemed to be sincerely friendly, rather than the Stepford friendly that is all too common; the place was clean; and the manager was at a table in the dining area giving everyone a friendly greeting while working away on her laptop. read more

Really surprised with how the handled the food last time I went. Had a somewhat big order for four people and after telling the young lady taking our order repeatedly to make sure everything was right it was not. We had a spicy chicken with no cheese as my brother doesn't like cheese and he still got cheese. I order a chicken sandwich, the deluxe, and asked for bacon. I'm sure you get charged for adding bacon because they charge for bacon everywhere and when I get my sandwich there is one miserable strip of bacon on it. And to top it all off they ask it to wait by a curb and even then take long enough to the point where we had to move for blocking traffic. I'm not in the Upland area very much, but made a quick stop here before heading to my friend's band performance. I tried their new Market Fresh salad. It was wonderfully refreshing, tasty and fulfilling. Chicken, strawberries, blueberries, you can add walnuts and granolas, with their signature vinegarett dressing. Only 180 cals! I was sold ;) The staff was great and super friendly. A little happier than you'd expect. I was a little creeped out how happy they were, but quickly got over that. Haha. I appreciate it. After months of closure for remodeling the upland location reopened. Sorry to report the remodeling with an additional line in drive thru is not improving service. I use the mobile app and come to that location 3/4 times a week. In the morning I am in the drive Thru 20/35 minutes because they now need to repeat the order back to you for a mobile order, a waste of time especially since if you request a muffin you get a biscuit and no cheese nets you CHEESE! Then if the person in front of you is waiting so are you! What happened to can you get out of the way and park over there so the line can move faster. Lastly it's a mobile order and I'm waiting at the window still for my order to be prepared WRONG? Management needs to make some changes soon. read more

This was a pass-through on our way out of town, but if I were a local, I'd be a customer for life. Brett bent over backwards for us - amazing customer service. Very clean, well lit, and we'll stocked. Plus the food - OMG! Now, the elephant in the room. I have gay friends. I have a gay pastor (go ahead, calculate that. I'll wait). I didn't have an issue with the colors, sizes, shapes, and (I'm sure) orientations of the people I sat with inside. Yes, folks, there were all types. Even if I don't agree, I feel people are entitled to their opinions. My opinion is that you judge someone by their actions and the taste of their fries. read more

I never ate much Chik Fil A until the pandemic. Now I go twice a week and am RED member on the app. This location is great. At my house, we always comment how they haven't messed up an order of ours during the pandemic. The food is tasty and usually hot. The one area of improvement would be to fill fries boxes all the way up. Compared to the rest of the Colonies and Upland food, this is my go to place. Ono's is gross, El Pollo has gone wayyyyy downhill, habit is terrible, pieology is meh, San Biago is fantastic, and in n out is the same as the last 30 years. OK.. Im confused. The store has a drive thru. They have a childrens play space. Most people order by a combo number. This place (not the kids in the play place) screams fast food establishment!!! Whats different (and confusing) about this "fast food" place?? No sooner than putting my change in my pocket and collecting my drink, the cashier was bringing me my entree TO MY TABLE! Yeah.. that fast! When that same cashier was not chasing down other patrons with trays of food, she grabbed a broom and swept, wiped down the tables, and straightened the chairs. No wonder this place didnt smell or look like a fast food joint. While having my meal, another cashier came by and offered to refill my drink. Can you say service??? YES! The chicken was very tasty... scorch your mouth hot! You simply cannot find better waffle fries anywhere. There is a choice of what... 7 sauces... me like variety!! this is my usual chickfila location, though i no longer eat there regularly as the staff has gone down hill. i've been going for years, pre remodel, post remodel, and i'm not sure if it's all locations that have put customer service on the back burner but this one sure has. my mother is elderly and decided to take herself to chickfila this morning and she waited until lunch to go, she arrived at 10:27 and they refused to let her order lunch with a full line ahead of her. the girl was incredibly rude to her as breakfast is until 10:30, but with the full line nor my mother or myself see any problem with ordering lunch preemptively as you're waiting in a 10-15 minute line? she was stuck in the drive through until well after 10:30 and left with no food upset and never going back. i have never had a problem ordering lunch before 10:30 through the app or at the store, they've always told me there may be a wait and understandably so, but to be so dismissive to my mother over a 3 minute difference is absolutely unacceptable. we will not be back, i cannot believe these employees are being paid over 20 an hour to treat people like that, especially a sweet old lady, absolutely disgusting. read more

Once upon a time, there was a Chick-fil-a in San Jose, right up the street from my house but I was too young to know or even understand the likes of fast food, but it disappeared and now I don't even think I've seen one in NorCal in a very, very long time. A friend alerted me that Chick-fil-a is actually really good and that if I ever had a chance to grab one I definitely should. I took this advice to heart and although I was having dinner in merely an hour, I nommed on a spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-a. Wow, what a fantastic difference. Is this a fast food joint at all? This must be the In-n-Out of chicken sandwiches! It was a high quality, delicious white meat chicken which you can get BBQ or honey mustard sauce with ... it was just the perfect amount of spicy and all the ingredients tasted not frozen and pre-prepared. This is the worst experience I have ever encountered at a Chick-fil-A. The counter service was ok. However the way the registers are set up there are two so close together you can't hear what the order taker is saying. When we went into the dining room there were quite a few tables available however none were clean, including the seating. We chose the least dirty table and when our food came asked the server to wipe the table. He came back with one wet wipe and just wiped the spilled sauce that I had pointed out. I had to ask him for napkins, straws and the sauces we ordered. While dining, an older child threw up on a table across from me. The mother looked for some napkins to clean it up but since there are none available to the public she left and that table went unclean for at least 1/2 hour, when I finally had to wave someone down to point it out, which took another 10 minutes for someone else to go clean it up. The floors were filthy with food scraps and spilled drinks. Thank goodness we didn't have the need to use the restrooms, because who knows what condition they were in. I will not be returning to this restaurant for dine-in and will let anyone I know to avoid the same. The food was ok but the fries were cold. read more

My first time to this chain. Overall, it was pretty good. Not terrific or amazing, just pretty good. Though so many have said it's not typical fast food, I wouldn't agree. I've have better, fresher chicken sandwiches, but that doesn't mean this place is bad. Just don't understand why so many rave about this place. Had the Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich and it was just "pretty good." Not really much more to say then that. The bun was good, the crispy fried chicken was excellent, the pickles, lettuce were bad IMO and the tomato was "pretty good." The pepper jack cheese was just OK, too. Didn't like the Chick Fil A sauce at all. It's just honey mustard and mayo. Not a fan at all. The Potato Waffle Fries weren't that good at all. Soft, mushy with no strong flavors of really anything. Super boring. I'll pass on them from here on out if I ever go back. Doubt I will anytime soon. Not a huge fan of this place but did love the crispy chicken patty. It was the only excellent thing about this place. So, I'll order just a crispy chicken patty on a bun next time with no sauce. If you love fast food, I'm sure you'd like it more than I did. LOVE this location. Every time I go the employees are friendly, efficient, and make their job and the customers a top priority. The food is always great and comes out very quickly, even custom-type orders. The restaurant is always clean, and employees regularly walk through to make sure customers are satisfied. But what impresses me most is how well this location handles a rush. The drive-thru gets manned by several employees, taking orders in person at each car, with a payment booth also located outside. Order, pay, receive food. Even when I'm well into the parking lot in line, it never takes more than ten minutes to get through the whole thing and have my food in hand.
