This Chick-fil-A at Renaissance Village in southwest Durham is our go-to Chick-fil-A in the Triangle. It's located close to the border of Durham and Chapel Hill and just off the interstate (I-40 exit 274, NC 751 - Jordan Lake). It's tucked away and hidden from street view, so you really have to know it's here to find it. The entry and exit points to the parking lot and drive-thru of this Chick-fil-A aren't ideal. They're awkward and unbalanced when it comes to traffic flow. If you've been to this location, you probably know what I mean. The driveway closest to the BP gas station next door works better as an exit than than an entry. This Chick-fil-A has a single drive-thru lane and an indoor playground for kids. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they closed the playground (and on-site dining) and converted the parking lot to accommodate for a makeshift double drive-thru along with curbside pick-up spots. My drive-thru experiences have been fine, for the most part. They messed up my sauce order once (I've had this happen to me at other locations too) and they haven't been consistent about giving me a printed receipt. If you're particular about your sauces, I would confirm with them the sauce portion of your order. The items my wife and I most frequently order are the Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($3.99; she likes to get hers with lettuce and tomato for $0.40 extra), Nuggets ($3.85), Cobb Salad ($7.99) with Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing, and Chicken Biscuit ($2.69). The Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit ($3.09) and Hash Brown Scramble Burrito ($3.95) are good too. I usually order meals to get the Waffle Potato Fries and Hash Browns sides. I believe this location stops serving breakfast at 10:30am on weekdays, but I'd call to confirm. I'm not sure what time they stop serving breakfast on Saturday. My favorite drinks are their half-and-half sweet-and-unsweet tea and vanilla iced coffee. Yum. For sauces, my wife likes to get ketchup, Honey Mustard Sauce, and Polynesian Sauce. I like to get ketchup, mayo, and Polynesian Sauce. Occasionally, I'll get Chick-fil-A Sauce and Barbeque Sauce. This Chick-fil-A location, and most Chick-fil-A locations in general, really haven't let me down yet. Chick-fil-A is one of my favorite fast food brands and, throughout my lifetime, I've probably purchased more meals from Chick-fil-A than any other brand. McDonald's is second. Chick-fil-A is just consistently and reliably good in *both* food and customer service. read more

Poor service since the renovation, breakfast service always stops much earlier than 10:30 and don't expect them to be nice about it either.

This location near I-40 & Southpoint mall is the best we've found in the entire South East USA. It's too close to home, so we have to resist grabbing food there each week. Glad they brought back the spicy biscuit breakfast option. Years ago the only problem they had was mis-counting sauces. Seems like that has been fixed now that they bag them separate with napkins. read more

All you really need to know about this location is that the owners value neither their customers not their employees. Proof of the former is how early into the pandemic they dispatched with curbside pickup. Proof of the latter is that tonight it's 32 degrees but their employees are still stand in the parking lot taking drive-through orders. I stay away as a rule but the peppermint chip shake sounded good...until it wasn't. You'd be forgiven thinking that you're paying $4.50 for a large, but think again--it's a baby size. read more

Wow!!! Fast!! They have it together! Everything was hot, cooked to perfection and tea perfectly made as usual (not piped in)! They hire many folks that probably get pre-judged at interviews at other companies and that is why Chic-fil-A is so successfu! Their staff is happy, they hire the right people, they know people are worth something! They invest in their people! It also makes me wonder why is it that Chic-fil-A seems to be the only company out their that can consistently bread their chicken and cook it correctly every single time with out fail? Chick-fil-A is Chick-fil-A. If you've been in one you've been in the majority of them all. I must say this location does seem to have something special about it. I believe it's specialty is it's ability to move very fast in high-volume times. The staff that works there all very very friendly and everyone has a great ability to maneuver without being distracted. I witness this at least once a week whenever I visit this location as it's not too far from my job. Every time I go around lunchtime there is at least 2000 people inside eager to get their lunch and the workers do a fantastic job of getting everyone fed and in and out. Pretty good experience at this Chic-Fil-a. I was shopping at the nearby Target & needed lunch, so yay for Chic-Fil-a being nearby! Of course, when is a Chic-Fil-a not busy? It was around 12:30 PM on a weekday & the line for the drive-thru wrapped around the building. Thankfully, they had two employees taking orders with iPads, so it did help move the line along pretty well. When I got to the window to pay & get my food, they were fast & efficient. Typically, my regular chicken sandwich is too hot to eat out of the bag. Today, this was not the case & I was a bit disappointed. While I could eat it immediately, it wasn't as hot as I would like it to be. The cole slaw was fresh, cold & delicious. My sweet tea was equally good. Usually pick up dinner for the family here on Wednesdays. And it's usually dependable. But tonight wasn't good. We only got 1 of the 3 fries I ordered, so one of the hungry kids had to go without. I had never caught the "it's my pleasure" line as a replacement to "you're welcome," until my husband explained that to me. I found it peculiar and incredibly nice. Cows lobbying "Eat mor chikin'!" - how can you go wrong?! This is by far the best Chick-Fil-A location. Spicy chicken sandwiches just aren't as good anywhere else. The customer service is ridiculously fabulous. I mean I haven't been treated like such royalty anywhere else... ever. The staff is soaked Southern hospitality, just as it should be. They also have this coveted Chick-Fil-A club (at this location only). 10 punches and you get a free party for 50 people... no, not even kidding this is for real! I never thought I'd write a review about a fast food place but this specific location deserves one. 1st Gotta love the chicken sandwich and they do it just as great or better than any other chikfila. But what makes this location stand out is the staff. Wow!!! Greet you when you come in, are extremely nice to you when you order, even make awesome suggestions for if you look like you can't make up your mind. They will even bring food out to your table. Holy cow! A fast food restaurant that uses 2 additional people out in the drive-thru line, one to take orders, and another to run drink orders and process payment. I was concerned with the number of cars in line, but these folks showed how decent food, speed and efficiency can be done with a smile. The lady at the window just handed back payment (cards) and gave out orders. I'll be back during rush hour when I have some place to be. read more

I love Chik-Fil-A (who doesn't right?), and this is definitely one of the better Chik-Fil-A locations! Everytime I've ever gone, the customer service has been top notch! Like many Chik-Fil-As, the staff will bring you your food when it's ready, rather than having to wait for it upfront. Additionally when they hit peak times or rush hours, they handle it like pros. They are efficient at what they do and handle the crowds well! Even when I dined in and it was packed, the service did not falter. Okay, it's only fast food, but for what it is, it is good. I usually get the grilled chicken sandwich, which actually tastes like real chicken. Well seasoned, yummy soft roll, and fresh lettuce and tomato. I've definitely had my share of the waffle fries, double yum!! and I like that they have other choices, like soup and fruit. I've also sampled the tenders and nuggets, and both had nice flavor with light non greasy breading. These were not McDonald's nuggets, whew You can bring kids here and feel pretty good about the choices they have and the indoor, small playground is a nice bonus for very small children. I have been to this Chick-fil-A probably 5 times since I moved to the area in January and have had consistently good experiences. Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food joint, and the only one I really go to consistently. This location lives up to the chain's high standards. The service is always very pleasant and the food is what I expect from Chick-fil-A. The only critique I would give is to work on the whole drive-thru process...the other day, there were THREE people taking orders and one other handing out receipts, which seemed only to hold the line up. Always great food, almost always great service. With two kids we frequently eat here for kid's night on Tuesday evenings, which means a lot of fun as well as a lot of craziness. The staff is always courteous and responsive, and they go above and beyond the call of duty on kid's night, even with all the crowds and commotion going on. Love the chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, milkshakes and seasonal items like the chicken tortilla soup and peach milkshakes. Great salads as well. Only real complaint is that they stopped doing the kids eat free part of kid's night in early 2013, so while you still get craft night and Mr. Moo Cow on Tuesdays, you no longer get a free kid's meal with your entree purchase. read more
