    Chicken Tortilla Soup
    Jeanette C.

We stopped here as we were driving to visit grandpa in VA! I really wish the lobby was open 'cause I reaaalllyy needed to use the restroom, but I had to wait a little bit longer until we made it to the gas station. Since it was an eat while we drive kinda meal, I was hesitant to order the Chicken Tortilla Soup (my husband tends to have road rage), but it was a great choice! I didn't spill it and it warmed my soul on that snowy day. The Spicy Chicken Deluxe sandwich was also delicious (it was my husband's, but I stole a few bites!)

    No bacon

We bought two chicken sandwiches on Saturday with bacon and drove to my son practice to find out they didn't put bacon on the sandwich's. When you get charged for half a pound of bacon and get none that sucks. We were really busy and didn't call Saturday and they are closed Sunday so I called today and have pictures and was told to bad. It's sad you pay premium prices and get worse customer service than McDonald's.

It's rare to go to a chick-fil-a drive thru and not have to wait. We must have been really early. The manager said he would bring our "vittles" right away. My chicken egg and sausage was awesome. RJ said his sausage egg and cheese was "fine" but he wasn't crazy about the English muffin.

A 'Frosted' lemonade, they are great. But getting a large, didn't get cup filled all the today :(

Drive through is busy but moves fast. They gave me friend chicken nuggets instead of grilled but it was fixed when my husband brought it up.

This is the slowest Chick Fil A I have ever been to. No straw. Drink order was messed up. Very disappointing.

The main building is a lovely and spacious modern inn that balances comfort and traditional elements with open and wide modern floor plans and bright spaces in a pleasing way while retaining the cozy fireplace experiences of more traditional settings. A first floor outdoor veranda opposite the main entrance stretches the length of the main building overlooking the well groomed hillside vineyards and a stocked, picturesque fishing pond. The hillside stretches up the horizon and with the westward facing veranda, offers stunning sunset views along with wine service. Below is a patio off the main restaurant and bar offering even more seating around fire pits with couches and Adirondack chairs with appetizer and drinks available for the bar/restaurant. We toured a king 2 room suite with a large sitting area separated from an equally large and well appointed sleeping area with a private large balcony that also faced the western sunset over the vineyards. The rooms were described as more akin to an apartment whereas the 9 onsite yurts accommodations were described more akin to a condo, described as pet friendly and a quiet community. Behind the yurts is a large barn structure that serves as a tasting room with an outdoor seating area with Edison lights strung around the overhang creating a warm space to enjoy the vineyards end production, currently nine wine vintages. Beside the main building are two much larger shaped yurt structures housing a full fitness center and a spa as will as an outdoor pool. We dined at Hickory for dinner and enjoyed their farm to table, Appalachia oriented menus. That will be a separate review but it hits 10/10 for hospitality, service, presentation and food excellence. We plan a fall trip for an overnight stay when the vineyards come in just before harvest to get the full experience! Also, we initially had a glass of their Chardonnay and being pleased with this, we opted to enjoy a bottle with dinner even though the wine list had equally excellent choices from familiar vineyards. This is highly recommended!

We've don't that to maybe 1 other ever. It was so bad, we didn't have the heart to explain to the manager as he's checking in on everyone table by table. We didn't want to make a scene or think we were trying to be difficult because it wasn't just one thing he may be able to fix...it was all terrible. Skip a meal and go for the atmosphere with drinks or apps. Still a great ambience, but it's just overpriced. Ribs were chewy, like they were boiled and just seared for some char marks. The Bolognare tasted one step up from sphagetti-os with just noodles and vodka sauce. Their star has always been their carrots side dish. Others warned us, but we won't be back for a lunch/dinner. Breakfast buffet was good.

The food was not correct and not terrible and not great. Just ordered there again (2025) thinking that they cannot still be in business and still be that bad. I stand corrected. I tried to DoorDash again and not terrible, not great. I was shorted 4 tenders, they were not tossed in sauce as ordered. They forgot my gallon of tea. The loaded tots were pathetic. This place does not seem to care about what they are putting out there at all. I would not recommend ordering from this place to anyone. Keep your money, or if you are really n a hankering for hot food. Go to Buffalo Wild Wings. Hell, Prince;s chicken is 150% better. I will NEVER be back here!!

Yes, let this restaurant have your money because it's worth it. For those who like deliver please order through Grubhub. They were reliable unlike Doordash who canceled our order, and we are still waiting for that refund back. Why is this food so good? Well one word- it's fresh. It's also affordable and the portion size is incredibly big. I was beyond impressed by how hot the food was when it came. I even adored their reusable bags, and they way the food was bagged. When it came down to the eating part, I was pleased by how delicious the food was. The cheese on my tots wasn't fake nor 'a small portion'. It had enough cheese and it was well placed on the tots. I also enjoyed how I was able to receive plain chicken tenders, I'm not a big flavor person, so plain tenders is my go to. And they made it perfect, even after thirty minutes of watching the television my food was still delicious. I'm a slow eater and I'm happy to say the food stayed room temperature the whole time. Now on my husband's meal he got the jalapeños & tomatoes cheesy fries and Kickin' bourbon chicken tenders. He said the tenders weren't really spicy, more sweet than he thought but still delicious. The moment pulling the food out from the bag we were welcomed by it's smell. It looked very tasty and it was so much food he's going to save it for later. Overall I was very happy with our purchase at this restaurant, I loved watching the app tell us how far along the food was and which way the driver went to get to us. I will also be saving this restaurant so I can order again! This is overall worth the purchase and the patiences when it comes to receiving the food. Hopefully in the future I will get to visit the actual location to get the vibe of it. But other than that, I was truly pleased with my order and the food. Thank you for the amazing work and keep it up.! You just got a lifetime customer right here.

It's definitely a bit of a drive from Charlotte, but well worth it if you're exploring the mountain towns and scenery in the area. The restaurant has a really cool upscale mountain vibe that feels relaxed and comfortable without being stuffy. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and the whole place just had that quality mountain town feel to it. My wife and I both ordered trout, which felt like the right move here. I had the almond crusted trout with basil potatoes and garlicky grits, and it was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. The garlicky grits were especially good. My wife ordered the smoked trout, and let's just say they do not mess around with the smoke flavor here. It was seriously smoky. A couple hours later she was still burping little smoke rings on the drive home If you love strong smoky flavor, you'll probably love it. They also had a really solid craft beer selection that fit the mountain atmosphere perfectly. Overall, high quality food, great service, fun atmosphere, and absolutely worth the drive. Easy five stars from us.

Their cocktails are crafted with homemade syrups, and change seasonally. I had the Garden in Tibet--a delicious drink with gin, Prosecco, sugar snap pea syrup (!), green elixir syrup, elderflower liquor, and lemon. You'd think this could be a too-sweet drink, but it was PERFECT. My husband had the Which Damascus the first time, with rye whiskey, cherry basil syrup, hickory syrup, Amaro Montenegro, Tiki bitters, Peychaud bitters, and orange. He enjoyed it, but I thought it was definitely too sweet. He had a Garden in Tibet on our second visit, and preferred the Tibet to the Damascus drink. We love their unique smoked trout deviled eggs as an appetizer. This dish has two eggs filled with smoked trout, and three filled with a deviled egg mixture. The accompanying house hot sauce is so good! For our entrees, we both had hickory-smoked trout on the first visit Mine was definitely saltier than his. We had three sides--collard greens, smoked Gouda grits (our favorite), and corn, hominy, yellow squash & chile hash (so fresh and delicious!). On our second visit, I had the almond and cornmeal-crusted trout with the smoked Gouda grits, and my husband tried their fried chicken sandwich with slaw. He absolutely loved the sandwich--the chicken was thick, juicy, and very tender. He'll definitely get the sandwich again. Service is always good at Speckled Trout, and I love that we can pay with ApplePay at the table via the Toast handheld. We can't wait to return.
