The downtown area was busy since there was a high school prom going on that evening. I wanted real Mexican food and walked into Mas Tequla Mexican Bar & Grill, which was moderately busy in the dining room, but no one was sitting at the bar. I took a seat up at the bar since I was solo and received prompt service after sitting down in the high seat. I was given a laminated menu book and requested ice water. I was also given a complementary basket of warm chips and mild salsa. The bright dining room has table seating, booth back seating, colorful painted wall murals and a white throne too. There is also outdoor patio seating. The food menu offerings a selection of appetizers, wings, nachos, tortilla soup, salads, street tacos, quesadillas, burritos, chimichangas, fajitas, combination plates, specialties (seafood, chicken, steak, carnitas mixed), vegetarian dinners, huevos dishes, desserts, and lunch specials (opening until 2:30pm Mon-Sat/$1 more other times). A first floor outdoor veranda opposite the main entrance stretches the length of the main building overlooking the well groomed hillside vineyards and a stocked, picturesque fishing pond. The hillside stretches up the horizon and with the westward facing veranda, offers stunning sunset views along with wine service. Below is a patio off the main restaurant and bar offering even more seating around fire pits with couches and Adirondack chairs with appetizer and drinks available for the bar/restaurant. We toured a king 2 room suite with a large sitting area separated from an equally large and well appointed sleeping area with a private large balcony that also faced the western sunset over the vineyards. The rooms were described as more akin to an apartment whereas the 9 onsite yurts accommodations were described more akin to a condo, described as pet friendly and a quiet community. Behind the yurts is a large barn structure that serves as a tasting room with an outdoor seating area with Edison lights strung around the overhang creating a warm space to enjoy the vineyards end production, currently nine wine vintages. Beside the main building are two much larger shaped yurt structures housing a full fitness center and a spa as will as an outdoor pool. We dined at Hickory for dinner and enjoyed their farm to table, Appalachia oriented menus. That will be a separate review but it hits 10/10 for hospitality, service, presentation and food excellence. We plan a fall trip for an overnight stay when the vineyards come in just before harvest to get the full experience! Also, we initially had a glass of their Chardonnay and being pleased with this, we opted to enjoy a bottle with dinner even though the wine list had equally excellent choices from familiar vineyards.
