Pal's is one of my favorite Bristol-area stops on road trips between my hometown and my new town…read more Truthfully, Pal's is the reason I plan my gas and food break there at all. It feels like a small ritual on the highway, the kind of place that turns a routine stop into something warm and familiar. There's something about Pal's that takes me back to being a kid, riding with my dad to a tiny drive-thru burger spot where the food was simple, fast, and made with care. This place carries that same spirit. The service is fast but still welcoming. I parked in the small lot that runs parallel to the drive-thru and enjoyed my meal from the car, watching the steady flow of customers come and go. My order was a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. The food was fresh, tasty, and made for me... a classic drive-thru. The highlight, though, was a small moment of kindness. The young man at the window spotted my puppy and offered her a dog treat, which instantly made the stop feel even more personal and welcoming. Little gestures like that turn a quick meal into a memory. Pal's is clean, simple, and purely nostalgic. No frills, no fuss, just good food, friendly service, and the comforting feeling of a roadside tradition that understands exactly what travelers need.

My companion had the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and I had a 3 wing meal with mashed potatoes and dirty rice. They are known for the biscuits and they were deliciously hot, flakey, soft and buttery. The mashed potatoes come with sausage gravy which was great spread on the biscuit. The biscuit is a what makes the breakfast sandwich. The wings are on the smallish side but were hot, flavorful and crispy. The fresh coffee was surprisingly good, a smooth light to medium blend. Service was helpful and quick. The dining area and restrooms were clean and well stocked. Hit all the marks for a good fast food breakfast/lunch stop and I got my fried chicken fix.

We weren't looking for anything fancy--just a dependable meal before another day on the road. Once again, Chick-fil-A delivered a fresh chicken sandwich with quality ingredients and no issues with the food itself. Everything tasted just as expected. The only thing that kept this visit from earning a higher rating was the drive-thru. It wasn't nearly as efficient as the previous day's location, and traffic seemed to back up more than I would have expected. Nothing terrible, just noticeably slower. Overall, it served its purpose. We left with full stomachs, enough caffeine to wake us up a bit, and another several hundred miles of highway ahead of us. Not a destination Chick-fil-A, but a perfectly respectable stop that got two tired travelers back on the road.
