I've been to several Cook Outs and they are all mostly the same. To begin with customer service is always great and the restaurant is always clean and neat. Also most of the time I get my order quickly which is one of the reasons I like Cook Out. Additionally the food here is not costly at all very affordable. Most of the time I get the spicy chicken burger with 2 corn dogs on the side. The food here is quite tasty. I am a burger girl. For a fast food restaurant this place seriously has good hamburgers. I like that there are four styles of burgers to choose from or basically toppings and sauce. My favorite thing is the meat is not over cooked. On my last visit to town I had lunch at two different Cook Out locations. Both burgers were pink in there middle. I also like that they serve their burgers wrapped in foil paper as it keeps all the moisture inside and basically the bun steams from the heat. It is soft when you open it. Aside from burgers they have hot dogs and many types of chicken. I love all the options for the sides when you get a 'tray'. Hush puppies and onion rings were awesome. Some in my opinion aren't normal sides to me. Corn dog? Quesadilla? Chicken nuggets? They are great options but I did not try them. To finish your meal they have maybe 30 different shakes and some seasonal flavors or floats and a cheesecake option. Bottom line you can't go wrong here. read more

Yesterday I was beginning to affect me that my hectic schedule caused me to skip eating anything until after 3 PM. My business associate suggested that we cruise through this Cook Out since they "had great hot dogs and burgers." In fact he suggested that I try one of each. I ordered a traditional Chili Dog and a Steak Burger with A-1 Sauce. The hot dog was a shriveled frank and a spattering of some thin red liquid with a few crumbles of ground meat. The "Steak Burger with A-1 Sauce" had NO A-1 Sauce but enough mayonnaise to gag a maggot. Thin rings of stringy, tough, half cooked onion added to the negative image, texture and taste. (I had specifically asked for. NO mayonnaise since I literally DETEST it!) Anyway, if you are near this location and famished, visit ANY of the other restaurants nearby. very disappointed! i went to color after work tonight around 9:30. i got the treat with a chicken sandwich, had everything on it, which i didn't ask for so i simply picked it off and i went to look at my sides, i asked for onion rings and cheese bites. they only gave me 4 onion rings and 8 cheese bites!! wtf? one of my onion rings were completely mushy, and the cheese curds were barely cooked the cheese wasn't even half way melted, on top of that they forgot my sauce! this is my first bad review ever! so i feel terrible but come on get it together people read more

One of the busiest Cook Out's I've been too. We stumbled upon this spot while driving from Wytheville to Knoxville at about 10:30 pm when most places in town were closed (sadly YELP didn't show this location open) but fortunately it was. The place was packed and we waited about 10 minutes before we were able to order. Fortunately, once we did the food came out within five minutes. Efficient and the order came exactly how we asked for it. This Cook Out didn't burn our burgers. In fact, it was done perfect. The corn dogs and chicken nuggets were good, too. This was the first time I tried the spicy chicken sandwich and I was impressed, as were we with the cajun fries. In short, Cook Out has value I still don't understand. It's way better than McDonalds, yet cheaper and with a grade of flavor and quality one step higher. There's massive value here and while it's not great food, for what you spend it's perfect. read more

The crew in here was super friendly and nice, as well as quick! I did get takeout, and it was still piping hot even when I got into my car. I have never, at any Cook Out restaurant, had cold food served to me! Except for the milkshake, but... Well, you know. IT'S A MILKSHAKE! Oh, did I mention the milkshake? This place is a great place to eat! The food is made well, and comes at an affordable price! The employees are very kind and welcoming. The restaurant itself is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I like that you get your own drinks. There are a ton of condiments made available to you, and the ones that aren't out in the open you just ask for them. It doesn't take forever to get a BBQ sauce if you need an extra, and the portion sizes of the condiments are perfect! Not too much, but not too little either! There are a ton of different menu items to work for. I love the fact that their food actually tastes like home made cooking! Their burgers don't taste like frozen burgers that have been slapped onto a grill. They actually taste like a burger you would get at a cookout! They have something for everyone at this place! A little bit of everything! The only complaint that I have is that the milkshakes are too thick when I get one. So thick that you can't actually drink them (they won't come up through a straw). So you pretty much have to eat your milkshake if you want to have it with your food. I asked if they could maybe make it very thin so I could actually drink it. I went through the drive-thru this evening and when I approached the speaker, the guy taking orders immediately started speaking and was speaking so fast that I couldn't understand him so he repeated himself. I ordered 2 Jr Hamburger tray with ketchup only and a BBQ Sandwich. While I was ordering, he (Receipt says his name is Isaiah) kept rushing me. I told him to give me just a minute, please. And the BBQ sandwich did not have any BBQ on it, it was pulled pork and barely any slaw on a bun. It was so salty that I couldn't eat it, threw it in the trash! Fries were soggy. Food was gross and you could tell they just threw it together. Normally when we come we are always helped right away and receive our shakes within 4 minutes and is always great until tonight. We waited 20 minutes to get our shakes! I understand if there were a bunch of people, but we were the first ones in there! Then we finally got our shakes, one of them had styrofoam in it and they weren't even blended.
