These are the people who wears masks on their chins. It's unsafe and annoying how they were just putting it up when they open the window at the drive through. The quesadilla that I had was so mediocre, I can make it at home... better. Their chicken nuggets tasted frozen. I mean, it's just made my good day horrible. Like hello...I spent money on something I didn't even enjoy. Very disappointed.

I've been to several Cook Outs and they are all mostly the same. To begin with customer service is always great and the restaurant is always clean and neat. Also most of the time I get my order quickly which is one of the reasons I like Cook Out. Additionally the food here is not costly at all very affordable. Most of the time I get the spicy chicken burger with 2 corn dogs on the side. The food here is quite tasty. Furthermore if y'all are looking for a low cost meal and good I recommend trying Cook Out.

very disappointed! i went to color after work tonight around 9:30. i got the treat with a chicken sandwich, had everything on it, which i didn't ask for so i simply picked it off and i went to look at my sides, i asked for onion rings and cheese bites. they only gave me 4 onion rings and 8 cheese bites!! wtf? one of my onion rings were completely mushy, and the cheese curds were barely cooked the cheese wasn't even half way melted, on top of that they forgot my sauce! this is my first bad review ever! so i feel terrible but come on get it together people

The "large" drink I got from cookout. Total scam!

Won't ever be going back here again. This is their "large" drink that costs almost $3! Service is poor, staff is rude and food is below subpar.

One of the busiest Cook Out's I've been too. We stumbled upon this spot while driving from Wytheville to Knoxville at about 10:30 pm when most places in town were closed (sadly YELP didn't show this location open) but fortunately it was. The place was packed and we waited about 10 minutes before we were able to order. Fortunately, once we did the food came out within five minutes. Efficient and the order came exactly how we asked for it. This Cook Out didn't burn our burgers. In fact, it was done perfect. The corn dogs and chicken nuggets were good, too. This was the first time I tried the spicy chicken sandwich and I was impressed, as were we with the cajun fries. In short, Cook Out has value I still don't understand. It's way better than McDonalds, yet cheaper and with a grade of flavor and quality one step higher. There's massive value here and while it's not great food, for what you spend it's perfect.

Left: Barbecue sandwich, bacon wrap, and onion rings. Right: Burger, quesadilla, and onion rings.

Overall, it's an tastier version of a school lunch. The menu is a bit confusing initially but the worker was kind helped us with our order. I like that I can get a bit of variety with the choose one main and two sides. I asked for barbecue sauce and A1 but there was none in the bag or on my barbecue sandwich. I would eat here again, but keep in mind there are other options in the area.

It's not just a drive-thru like most. U can actually sit in the establishment which is neat. Very clean. Located close to walmart. Great shakes as well!

Is it wrong of me to just get piles of hush puppies and milkshakes, because I may do that the next time I run through a Cook Out.

It feels like a small ritual on the highway, the kind of place that turns a routine stop into something warm and familiar. There's something about Pal's that takes me back to being a kid, riding with my dad to a tiny drive-thru burger spot where the food was simple, fast, and made with care. This place carries that same spirit. The service is fast but still welcoming. I parked in the small lot that runs parallel to the drive-thru and enjoyed my meal from the car, watching the steady flow of customers come and go. My order was a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. The food was fresh, tasty, and made for me... a classic drive-thru. The highlight, though, was a small moment of kindness. The young man at the window spotted my puppy and offered her a dog treat, which instantly made the stop feel even more personal and welcoming. Little gestures like that turn a quick meal into a memory. Pal's is clean, simple, and purely nostalgic. No frills, no fuss, just good food, friendly service, and the comforting feeling of a roadside tradition that understands exactly what travelers need.

What was even more disturbing was hearing how he spoke about a customer who had broken down in the parking lot. Instead of showing even the slightest bit of compassion or professionalism, he chose to mock and belittle the situation. I have a recording of these comments. If this is the culture that Pal's allows, tolerates, or promotes, then I will never spend another dollar at any Pal's location. No customer, driver, or member of the public should be subjected to that level of disrespect. I expected far better from a company with Pal's reputation, and this experience was nothing short of disgraceful.

It's a funky dive with dollar bills pasted everywhere and old Formica tables. It's said to be one of the last places Hank Williams was seen alive. Lots of history here. We ordered one maple syrup and cheddar burger and one Ruben and an order of onion rings to share. Maple syrup on a burger? Why didn't I think of that? It works. Man does it work. It gets splashed on while the beef is browning on the grill so it caramelizes. Then they add cheddar cheese. Dear Lord. The Ruben was greasy and decadent. Too rich to finish but too yummy to leave behind. A very serious problem, indeed. The onion rings were perfect- dropped in hot oil dating back to The Carter Administration. Golden. Loaded with flavor. Deadly fresh and crispy. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Really friendly and confident in what they know is going to blow your mind. Wear elastic waist pants.
