A quaint little spot tucked to the side of a less busy street; it's eclectic and has great food! I snagged a table on the patio on a mild afternoon, and enjoyed the Oyster Tacos with fries. I recommend asking for a side of the curry sauce for your fries (which is served with their cauliflower appetizer) - it pairs so well with the salty fries and is a refreshing change to ketchup!

The service was excellent. The ambiance was pretty unique, like a patchwork of styles in a patched together house. The hushpuppies were my favorite - very tasty and would definitely order more. The cauliflower was ok. This spot doesn't have too many vegetarian options really, so I think that's why I wasn't a huge fan. That said, my colleague enjoyed their meal so I think it's just a matter of not having too many interesting options.

Yikes! Ratings are high and locals seem to like it so keep that in mind. The service was good, people are friendly, and decor and vibe are great. However... I paid $62 (with tip) for two overcooked and tasteless burgers, a plate of lettuce, and two tap beers. I think this was a case of poor timing. I was told that they change the menu often, and I know most restaurants don't have their best chefs/cooks working during the middle of the week. I hate to give it a three but that was the experience. That said, I think this is a case of my personal experience not matching the overall experience for most people. I expect this would be higher than a three and somewhat worth the price on the weekend. Oh, one more thing... They prepare their sandwiches early in the morning and then just press them prior to serving. Not a plus. So, yeah ... maybe a three. This one will remain a mystery to me because I don't see myself returning. If you dine here, lmk how it goes.

Such a cute find. Thanks Yelp! We were seated right away and had the choice of inside or out. We chose outside. It was plenty cool and it was covered. Our server came right away and we both ordered unsweetened tea. We decided to split an appetizer of jalapeño hush puppies and we also split the crabcake sandwich. We chose the fresh cut fries as our side. We LOVED the hush puppies! And we also thoroughly enjoyed our sandwich and fries. We weren't excited about the taste of the tea- most likely not fresh brewed. I wouldn't ding them for it though because everything else was great! We would definitely come back if we're back in the area.

I went here on a Saturday evening, there was 1 small party going on but other than that it wasn't busy. The decor was really nice. I got the crab cake sandwich, it was alright but not very flavorful & they didn't have any cocktail sauce either. They were nice enough to let me have the hush puppies as my side. You could taste jalapeños but the cornmeal wasn't sweet at all like a traditional one so we weren't much of a fan. My dinner companion got the shrimp tacos & said they totally lacked flavor. We got a butter cake to share which was delicious but would've been better if our waitress didn't let the ice cream melt so much. It was so frustrating bc we could see the kitchen & saw it was ready for roughly 10 minutes before she brought it out to us. She was doing everything but coming to us or the kitchen, like just talking to her coworkers. I was just about to get it myself & then she even said "oops sorry it melted a bit." So didn't love that but the cake itself was delightful.

Calamari. YUM!!

We stopped in on a Thursday for a late lunch. 128 Pecan is rustic chic, in my opinion. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. I'll start off with the pros. The guy manning the bar and seating people was so engaging and you could tell he cared that you were having a good time. Our waitress was also amazing--she stayed on top of everything and once again, wanted to make sure that your dining experience was a great one. For food, the golden calamari was seriously cooked to perfection (can't remember the last time we've had it cooked so skillfully) and the parm fries were addicting. For entrees we went with the blackened chicken BLT, blackened chicken tacos and 128 smoked chicken salad. The chicken was nice and juicy in each entrée. Cons. Lack of parking. Website menu doesn't match menu in restaurant (would have gotten sesame fried oyster tacos shown on website, but they weren't on the menu at the restaurant). The Texas Ranch dressing for the salad should have been thicker to somewhat adhere to lettuce and also should have come with a spice warning (I normally order Thai food extra spicy, so maybe this batch was "off"?).

Had the Chili rubbed salmon and it was so good. It was cooked perfectly. Waitress was super nice. FYI, parking is behind the restaurant.

There's a dining room and a bar area. There's also a cute little lounge area next to the bar that would be a great space to catch up with friends or family and to be able to enjoy a cocktail while relaxing. This place is a vibe. Super cool decor and atmosphere. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We sat at the bar. We were greeted immediately and by a super friendly bartender named Zane. We ordered a rosemary cosmo, bacon washed old fashion, Mexican beer on tap (can't remember the name - see pic for name on the actual skull tap), and a drink that wasn't on the menu, but they have had before (we were with a local who knows this place well). All drinks were lovely. The rosemary cosmo wasn't sweet and had just the perfect hint of rosemary. The bacon washed old fashion is highly recommended. We didn't eat here, but they do have some tasty looking dishes. Guest at the bar ordered apps and then a steak that wasn't absolutely massive! Overall a great place to perch and have a terrific time. Very attentive and friendly staff. They have an extensive wine selection, as well as a well stocked bar.

I'm really glad that I made an effort to make this happen because it was an excellent experience. We walked into a sign that said half price wine bottles. Ordered a bottle of rosé that ended up being one of the best ones I've ever had. We tried the boa buns on appetizers and WOAH. So good!! I had a sushi special for the evening that was delicious and my sister had the Mongolian beef, which was also very good and a huge serving. Dessert to top it off was a lemon sorbet. Waitress was excellent, bartender was sweet and brought us our drinks and the inside ambience, including the music was spot on. Just all in all great experience and I would recommend to anyone.

Well located in the heart of Abingdon, directly across from the Barter Theater inside "The Martha"…read morehotel. Excellent experience, except for the Bar; more on that later. The dining room has a formal appearance but can be a bit noisy if it is busy. My wife and I were guests of a business associate. Seven in our party. Our server was professional and courteous but obviously relatively new and didn't know what brands the bar stocked, a minor issue. The quality of the bar drinks was very poor. My "dry" martini was anything by dry and it was "weak", almost like it was watered down. I should have sent it back but since we were guests of a business associate, I didn't want to complain. Later in evening our host mentioned that his Manhattan was also weak and had a strange taste. We normally would have ordered a second cocktail but drank water instead. My wife had the "Surf and Turf". The filet mignon steak was one of the best she's ever eaten. Perfectly cooked. The "surf" however was almost a joke. It was a small crab cake that had more filler than crab but tasted okay. Next time we'll order just the steak. We will likely return in the future but probably only if the other "tavern" style restaurant isn't open.

I've taken business associates and family with the highest confidence that they would experience the finest meal they've ever had. Sadly, my last two visits, My guests and I were disappointed. They no longer offer a full-size filet mignon, which in itself is very disappointing, the thin "4oz"(not) filet medalions were under cooked . And no baked potatoes! What?! We finished our "Non-Tavern-like" meal looking forward to the excellent cheesecake we've enjoyed dozens of times. Not tonight, my friend! We were told they now offer a homemade flavored cheese cake. Only i opted to try it. What i was served was a small square that tasted little like the excellent NY-style one they served for years. Our server, who the bartender said was now one of the owners, told us that the cheesecake we had bragged about for years, "that old cheesecake was from Cisco!" Hmmm. Very sad! What happened? New chef? New owners? I don't know but the Bottom line is we'll likely find another restaurant that hasn't put profits ahead of quality.

Whether it be…read morefinding the best burger or fried chicken or maybe even hitting craft beer trails, I like to have a theme. One of the best parts of being in the East Coast so much has been really delving into the history of the U.S., especially now that we are trying to delete it and change it into something it isn't. So my quest over the next few months will be to hit the oldest bars/taverns in America. The first stop on this adventure is the Tavern in Abingdon, VA. Built in 1779 (wow!) this was built as a stagecoach stop for travelers headed into the Blue Ridge Highlands, which is worth the trip itself just FYI. Walking up to the building it really looked like just I hoped it would. Years of reading history books and seeing paintings and drawings, I was hoping it would not have been upgraded too much, and it just looked like I imagined. What I was surprised was how amazing the experience was. Also how modern the menu, both drink and food is. Don't ask me why I expected flaggons of ales and bread bowls, makes zero sense. Instead it was a well curated cocktail list with a stunning modern menu. The one thing I knew I had to get was the French Onion soup, I think they called it the Tavern Soup, and it was worth the hype. The cheese was ooey-gooey wonderful and the onions and broth mixed nicely, sweet and salty, and was quite filling on its own. The menu is absolutely loaded with elegant choices: trout, scallops, chicken and risotto, baked salmon. I went full decadence and ordered the lamb chops because I saw it being served at the table close by. I am so glad I did. The meat was cooked absolutely perfectly and soaked in au jus, you couldn't ask for more tender bites. The mashed potatoes was a classic pairing and I ordered a side of asparagus along with it. Along with the beautiful service, the restaurant itself is lovely. I give this the highest of my highest recommendation.
