We've been to 128 Pecan, technically, 3 times now. Twice in one day! I did not take pictures of our dinner tonight unfortunately. Josh, Trey, John, and Lila (and everyone else) were sooo great today! We were (still are) in a bit of a bind today and they were so wonderful all day. We spent lunch and dinner with them. They even helped us out with our plants. The calamari was so good that we had it TWICE today. It is cut nice and thick and not so heavily breaded that you can't taste it. It was lovely. The grits and salmon that my husband had was also great! It is hard to find good grits, but their grits were amazing. I had the Cuban and the mojo sauce was a nice surprise. All of our drinks were tasty as well. We had a great visit today and will definitely be back! read more

Small charming place, big portion and friendly service...what else could I want. Food was tasty! I got the meatloaf even though the server recommended the salmon because she made meatloaf all the time. I never get meatloaf so I was pumped. Let me tell you that it didn't disappoint. So small place off the beaten path but the food was awesome and the service was top notch. Mostly locals dining - waiter seemed to know everybody by name and even asked about family members. That said paid great attention to us as well even though we were clearly "tourists" Eclectic menu ranging from burgers to tacos to pasta to crab cakes. So, the quality of the food is ok. They make a huge deal before giving you a table. For the place and the quality of the food I don't think they are at a place to require everyone to be on time before sitting you. I got confused but one of the items in the menu and had to order something else. I stanly the cook/chef was by my table checking who I was. Which was very rude. Such a delicious meal in a very cute location. We ate on the porch and the view and atmosphere was perfect. Got the meatloaf, grouper special, and cauliflower with curried mayo. Everything was delicious. I don't love Mayo and the curry spices could have been stronger but it was still yummy and paired well with the grilled cauliflower. The grouper was perfectly breaded. We had a delightful lunch while traveling through. The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was fresh, interesting, and tasty. I had a fried green tomato sandwich with pimento cheese on sour dough with a side salad and house made blue cheese dressing. So good! Food, ambiance and service was spot on. The restaurant is really cute and comfortable. There are so many options ranging from smash burgers, to shrimp tacos to a fried green tomato and pimento grilled cheese sandwich which was superb. The fries were so good, they had a really interesting seasoning on them. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak without peppers and it came with peppers and it would've been so much better without but it was still very tasty. I definitely recommend. read more

We decided to stop in for lunch after the Creeper Trail. Cute location, nicely decorated inside. We decided to sit on the patio. Everyone was following Covid protocols which is very important to me. I ordered the Salmon BLT with a side salad, Black Bean Burger with Fries, and a Kids Grilled Cheese with Fries. The Salmon BLT was cooked to perfection, the aioli was a perfect addition to this sandwich, and the ciabatta that it was on, was the perfect choice to withstand the components. The Black Bean Burger was made fresh, just the way it should be, and the fries had just the right amount of crunch to them. The presentation of the fries in the mini flower pots was a stellar idea. Limited menu which is great because all items are good. I did not have an appetizer but, the jerk chicken on rice and black beans was so large I could only eat 1/2 of it. The other half will be another meal tomorrow. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant appears to be in an old house fixed up with a small bar and tables in separate rooms. Was lucky to find this place on a road trip from NY to Knoxville. I had the Cubano, my sons had the steak sandwich and the Piggly Wiggly pork sandwich. All delicious! It was all very fine. It wasn't anything spectacular but it also wasn't bad by any means. The fried calamari breading had a good flavor, but was a bit overdone and rubbery. Parmesan garlic fries lacked garlic of any kind and was so absolutely covered in the shaky, grated Kraft Parmesan cheese that we actually scooped some up and added it to my side salad. The potato soup was just normal potato soup (although the waiter acted as though adding grated cheese to the top was something he only did as a favor to us). The Low Country pasta was a very good sized portion but was very salty and the chicken Florentine needed more flavor in general. Despite the table next to us having insanely loud children, which is obviously not the restaurant's fault, we could tell that the atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. The perfect setting for a quiet, easy date night. However, the BIGGEST downfall of our evening was our waiter. I truly don't understand him. He was beyond pleasant and helpful...to my husband. He laughed and joked with him. Gave recommendations. But would barely look at me. He interrupted me twice while I was trying to order or ask a question to say something to my husband. Every question or comment was directed to my husband. At one point, my husband went to the bathroom and the waiter brought our salad and soup and he did not look or speak to me. When my husband returned, the waiter came and asked if we wanted to wait to have him enter our entrees, my husband looked to me, and I said no to go ahead and bring them. The waiter said "Ahh I'll just wait." and walked away. Just very odd behavior. Again, everything was fine. But we would not go back. read more

Located in what was a house, the management makes the most of every possible inch, enclosing what was a porch to make an all-weather seating area and building an outdoor walk-in cooler (visible from enclosed porch). With limited seating, the savvy diner chooses to arrive at 1:30pm for lunch. We enjoyed a crab cake sandwich; fish sandwich; and grilled fried green tomato/pimento cheese sandwich. All were delicious. We also appreciated the simple delight of the tomato bisque soup - all bowls were scraped completely clean. I also tried the black bean burger which was good and I would order it again. I had to ask for cheese because it didn't come on it and came with a side of fries.
