Not at all what we expecting, and we were pleasantly surprised! Passing through Damascus and looking for a dinner option, we came upon this place. Went in and immediately were impressed with the atmosphere. Menu was pretty extensive too, and for great prices! I ended up with the teriyaki salmon, which came with coconut rice, mixed summer veggies and a side salad. Even the salad was elevated with spinach, dried cranberries, pumpkins seeds, and a yummy balsamic dressing. My boyfriend had the 8 oz NY strip steak, which he said was cooked to perfection. Our waitress Julia was super friendly and prompt. Great experience this evening!

Came in for brunch, super friendly staff. Food was cooked fresh from ordering, and you could tell! Maybe one of the best breakfast's I've had in a while. I ordered the side of the candied pork belly, and the amount I received was well worth the $8. Definitely recommend!

We spent a week in Damascus and this was the standout . Wilson's cafe has both coffee and delicious food. I got a banh MI and Mac and potato salad. The potato salad has a nice fattiness to it. I'm not sure what they put inside but it was great. There was also a bar but we didn't try any libations. Staff was nice and welcoming. Our food came fast. The restaurant looked like an old general store. Try this place!

Wilson Cafe hands down has the best food in Damascus. Impressive customer service accompanied by stellar fresh food is a major plus. Daily lunch specials available and coffee/desserts available as well. All the food was seasoned to perfection. Plan on going a 3rd time this week!

The small remaining evidence of being here. Amazing food!

Really smacking good to great food, top notch service and suuuuupa clean. So nice to have the chance to eat here on short notice. Bahn Mi's were great, lamb giros were way good and btw, the burgers were yep, you guessed it, can't miss. Here's all that's left from 8 plates. Whew. It was smashingly great! Go getchasum!

Wilson's Cafe and Grill is for lovers. Three couples had a gourmet 5 course meal for Valentine's Day. I was excited to try some new dishes from this exclusive menu and they did not disappoint me. The pork belly tasted like caramelized bacon soaked in maple syrup. It paired so perfectly with my Old Fashioned, I could've ended my meal right there and been completely happy. But I'm glad I didn't because the Pear Salad was delicious. A poached pear wedge with delicate greens, nuts, tangy dressing and chunks of blue cheese. I had the chicken and gnocchi soup, it had incredible creamy flavor and the gnocchi tasted like tender dumplings. But my wife and others had the Beet Soup and EVERYONE loved it... Earthy, peppery sweet, creamy and satisfying. My wife and I shared the lobster dish and the filet mignon, I took pictures see below. It was a very great meal overall. They were busy, but everyone is always very friendly and very welcoming. Despite having a large crowd, our seating was comfortable and private. I hope for the Beet Soup to be on their regular menu. And I almost forgot to mention the dessert platter, three yummy treats for each couple to share. This was a super idea for a very special day, nice work guys!

Espresso rubbed lamb lollipops with carrot, potato, poached oyster mushrooms and candied rosemary.

The vibe eating outside on a cloudy 80 degree day made the experience even that more enjoyable. I apologize in advance for not remembering the actual menu names of the food we ordered, so I'm kinda winging it here. Speaking of wings, the Turkish spiced wings were so dang good! Perfectly spiced with tight and crispy skin. What a treat. The falafel app we ordered that came with hummus and babaganoush, wow. Excellent homemade falafel and you can tell the accompaniments were also made in house too. Could have eaten three more portions of the falafel by myself. The Chicken Adana kebab was moist and juicy and charred and spiced and seasoned and fantastically delicious. The basmati rice was buttery, the pita was toasted and fresh. I mean I don't know what else you can ask for. We may go back tomorrow again, it was that good! Keep up the great work Red Meze!

Yeah that didn't happen because this place was also packed on the patio LMAO So keep that in mind. Good weather=slim chances of sitting outside especially on a Saturday. But, we actually enjoyed sitting indoors, less busy inside, more quiet. The seat inside are like a bench style so keep that in mind if you are a huge privacy person. Also the tables are small so if you are ordering a appetizer try to finish before your food comes out that way she can grab it. It was very tight when the entree came. The wall has a unique aesthetic with different items stemming from their culture. Our waitress was really nice, great sense of humor, and very well dressed in appearance. She paid attention in making sure we got a refill. Appetizer: 3 triple dipper hummus where you get pita bread and 3 flavors of hummus. The jalapeno hummus is the only one that stood out with a taste and flavor. The other two tasted the same and was very bland in my opinion. I ordered the Meze Bowl with couscous and it was really good except the hummus I think it was red roasted I can't remember. I would have been happy just with the jalapeno hummus. The person who I was with ended up getting a kabob and he enjoyed his food. Will I go back ? Yes This was my first visit so next time I know what to order. But, I would be more interested in visiting on a regular weekday vs the weekend. I think people should check it out for sure!

Today was the 3rd anniversary of us stopping off in their Johnson City, TN, location at 2010…read moreFranklin Terrace. This will be our LAST trip for several reasons, itemised below. I ordered the Gyro Platter $17.99, and one 16-ounce Hawaiian Shirt IPA $5.00. Pepper shakers at the bar were filthy and had not been cleaned. I noticed that the front inner door STILL had a homemade sign on it ( please use the other door)! From my previous service with the US Government, I informed the staff once again that the door being locked or broken was a VIOLATION of the National Fire Safety Code! One member of the staff, who identified herself as a manager, retorted that the door had been broken for years, as she walked away and refused to give her name when asked. Since both doors are required to be open in case of a fire, panic, or an active shooter issue, I found her nonchalant reply UNACCEPTABLE! I reported the violation to the Johns City, fire prevention officer, Keven Hanes, both in email and by telephone message! Knowingly violating fire codes can result in fines, lawsuits, or even loss of business licence! I do pray that Johnson City will investigate this issue and take appropriate action. As of now, this broken door violation has fully served. Fire kills thousands of people in our country every year, locking or not repairing broken exit doors is nothing short of CRIMINAL! SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS! Let them not wait until another group dies, unable to exit!

We lucked out with a table on the cozy patio sitting on Main Street, where the town buzzes with life. The interior is beautiful and refined, but the outdoor setting, with the fresh mountain air and the hum of the town, created the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Service was impeccable. Gracious, attentive, and perfectly timed throughout the night. We began with a chilled French Chenin Blanc that paired beautifully with our appetizers. The escargot, bathed in a garlic cream and Gruyère sauce, was rich and mouth meltingly tasty. The braised and seared octopus was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and quite honestly, one of the best we've had anywhere. For mains, we shared the heirloom tomato burger, which was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Alongside that, we split the mushroom burrata orecchiette, pillowy pasta coated in a creamy lemon pistachio pesto with locally sourced mushrooms. It was rich, bright, and beautifully composed. When dessert rolled around, we switched things up with cocktails. I had the old fashioned with a pistachio twist, complex and not overly sweet. My wife enjoyed a smooth and flavorful espresso martini. Both paired wonderfully with the finale: a creamy, light tiramisu and a house-made French éclair with fresh peaches. Each bite was the perfect ending to an already stunning meal. From start to finish, Café Violette delivered. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the view all came together in the best possible way. This is French fine dining with soul, nestled in one of North Carolina's most charming towns. An absolute must-visit in Blowing Rock.
