While driving through town, I noticed an old-school-looking burger joint. Curious, I quickly checked the reviews while waiting at a nearby traffic light and, seeing they were quite positive overall, decided to park and give it a try. The ladies working inside were extremely friendly and helpful, which was a great start. Their menu is incredibly unique and fun, featuring a wide variety of amazing burgers. As a fan of spicy food, I was pleased to see several options that catered to my taste. My server took the time to explain how they roast hot peppers to create their own unique blend, which I found very impressive. I decided to go with the Cold, Cold Heart burger, primarily because it included jalapeños. Although tempted by the Fire God Burger, the combination of scorpion and ghost peppers seemed a bit too intense for me. My burger was prepared quickly while I watched from the counter, which was a nice touch. The fries that accompanied it were excellent--slightly thicker than regular fries with a delightful seasoning. They were served piping hot and crispy. The highlight was definitely the burger itself. It was outstanding! The jalapeños added a lovely flavor without being overly spicy, and the bun was exceptional--soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. The meat was substantial and perfectly cooked. For condiments, they offer squeeze bottles from the fridge upon request. I opted for mayo on my burger and experimented with ketchup and mustard separately to see which I preferred. Honestly, the burger was delicious with or without the additional condiments. I've been to Burger Bar a few times now and I have to say the milkshakes are the best part of the menu. I thought the burgers were average, nothing too special. The service is always excellent. The waitresses are always so friendly. The cooks are very nice and seem like such good people. I think next time I will just go in for the shakes and skip the burgers. read more

Firstly, let's be honest, this is NOT the place you go when you're on a diet. It's a burger joint. But let me tell you, if you ARE planning to go down in flames, you might consider this place. It's a funky dive with dollar bills pasted everywhere and old Formica tables. It's said to be one of the last places Hank Williams was seen alive. Lots of history here. We ordered one maple syrup and cheddar burger and one Ruben and an order of onion rings to share. Maple syrup on a burger? Why didn't I think of that? It works. Man does it work. It gets splashed on while the beef is browning on the grill so it caramelizes. Then they add cheddar cheese. Dear Lord. The Ruben was greasy and decadent. Too rich to finish but too yummy to leave behind. A very serious problem, indeed. The onion rings were perfect- dropped in hot oil dating back to The Carter Administration. Golden. Loaded with flavor. Deadly fresh and crispy. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Really friendly and confident in what they know is going to blow your mind. Wear elastic waist pants. Driving through and there were quite a number of options. A classic burger sounded like a good choice. I had been on a chili dog kick, so I went with a chili cheese dog and a burger. My wife decided to go a little lighter... They offer a 1/2 burger! So she did a burger and onion rings. I love that the hot dog is split. I usually split and griddle them at home. This is a seat yourself location. Old Diner vibe with lots of fun decor on the walls. The servers are friendly. The food takes a bit longer than you'd expect but not crazy long. Tastes so good. Picture is a Hawaii 5-0 and the other was the maple-something (can't remember) with an egg added. Server provided us with to-go drinks which was a thoughtful touch. Price for two burgers, two sides, and two waters was about 40 bucks. They do charge a 2% service fee for all orders. Overall a great lunch! read more

My review is not for the food; it is for the unreliability of the business. The last three times I have come here they have been closed because (1) they ran out of food, (2) they had too many people out, or (3) they "had electrical issues." My problem is I can't count on them serving food; as a result, I eat at Delta Blues, Quaker Steak & Lube, or Stateline. If they are open it is a great burger; the problem is you need to determine you alternate before you plan to come here. If you are meeting someone plan elsewhere so you have a definite location. Their burgers are great, great fries, great shakes, etc. Just unreliable! If you want reliable try Stateline or Delta Blues (check out my review for each). read more

Local burger and fries restaurant that's great when it's open. Beginning of the summer we came a couple times and had delicious food with great service. Then it went downhill as they had low staff and electricity issues. We finally ended up going for lunch and they were open. Friendly server took our order after we had been there several minutes. (We almost left as we didn't have a long lunch break.) Hubby ordered their spicy burger and added an order of onion rings. He tried the spice level at 4/10 and it was very spicy. He loved it. Onion rings were edible. I ordered the burger with bbq sauce and sautéed onions. Unfortunately they used the hard outer layers of the onion, so they were not soft like sautéed ones should be. This restaurant is steeped in cool history. They have really good burgers and awesome shakes. But you can only enjoy them IF the Burger Bar is open. read more

This place is over 3 miles off the interstate but worth the trip if you enjoy historic hamburger dives. Legend says this was the last place Hank Williams ate before he died and the menu carries his theme. My wife ordered the "Move It on Over" and I got the "Cold Cold Heart." I got a side of onion rings and my wife got a side of sweet potato fries. They have lots of napkins, and you'll need them! They also have a ton of milk shake flavors. Unfortunately it was hit and miss for awhile because it transfered owners so many times and it became unreliable as a go to place. I have noticed lately that it seems to have been taken over by a more steady owner and seems to be a staple there now. It is located in a bad spot for parking and the inside has limited seating but I need to give the current run a try. The food was always good there and I really like these diners. I come here for the burger . It is always delicious. One complaint , it is small . The cooks have nasty mouths and talk about certain customers that come in. Also , it is extremely unprofessional to talk opinions and politics while on the job. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion but keep it to yourself when on the clock .
