Amazing food, good people, fast service, and the room looks so good and on theme with firehouse decor.

My husband and I got fried pickles, burgers and fries. For the price (which I think they ranged from 3-6 dollars depending on the burger), they were a great size. The portion of fries and the fried pickle appetizer we received was enough to take home. My daughter got a macaroni and cheese kids meal which came with one side, which was also a large portion. She ate every bite! The restaurant has several homemade desserts to choose from and we ended up taking home a slice of butterscotch pie. It was too sweet for me but the flavor was good. Outside of burgers they offer "home cooked" food, they had specials like meatloaf, country fried steak, catfish, etc. They are also open for breakfast, I looked at the breakfast menu and they had decent deals on a variety of items. Our server was very kind and didn't mess up our order (my husband can be picky and it's easy to mess his order up), so that's a plus. Definitely come here if you're looking for a filling meal at fair prices (most of the combos come with a drink, too which is awesome!)My only complaint is that the back room was pretty chilly, maybe they didn't have the heat on because it was warmer earlier? But I will definitely come back to try more of their menu!

The easiest way to find it is look for a building that looks like an auto body shop. Parking is on gravel adjacent to the building. The spaces are not marked. There is a handicapped sign to the left of the door. There are a few spaces across the street and more on the side of the building. There is a concrete sidewalk in front of the building. The gravel lot is even with the sidewalk on the right side but there is a small step up on the left. The entrance door is in the middle of the building. Walking in, there is a counter to the left where you pay. Bathrooms are straight ahead in the rear. Seating is a mix of booths and various sized tables. Seating is plentiful but well-spaced so maneuvering around is no problem. There was a sign to seat yourself so we picked a booth along the front of the building near the row of windows. Decor is auto related as would be expected. Lighting is bright without being overpowering. Our server arrived in less than a minute to bring the menus and take our drink order. She returned with the drinks in a couple minutes and took our lunch order. The drinks were in very large, maybe 32oz cups. Our server did come by near the end of the meal to ask if we wanted a refill but we still had just under half the drink left. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. The bacon cheeseburger was very good. The burger was hot and juicy and served on a fresh and soft bun as large as the patty. The lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh, cold, and crisp. The onion rings were also very good. The batter was crisp and the onion slightly soft, an excellent combination. The Western burger was another winner. The sautéed mushrooms were not mushy and had a nice sauce accompanying them. The sauteed onion and white cheese added additional depth. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bun soft and fresh. The french fries were thin and crispy but had a nice softness inside. This was an excellent lunch, and each burger was a wonderful flavor sensation. The french fries and onion rings were an excellent accompaniment and deserve mention on their own. Bond-o to Burger also does breakfast and I look forward to trying that soon as well.

I am an early riser so I tend to try to get out to eat just as places open. Thus, my pictures usually show empty seats. Do not let this deter you from trying this place. The decor is nostalgic and tasteful. It is spacious yet cozy. You seat yourself so I chose a booth along the front wall. My waitress was prompt and steady checking on my coffee level. The menu had plenty of options from omelets and wraps to breakfast sandwiches and full plate orders including biscuits and gravy. Sorry I forgot to take a menu picture. When my plate arrived, I wasn't sure I could eat it all. As I began to eat my senses were overwhelmed by all the flavors. It's definitely a great spot to get filled and enjoy good food. They also serve lunch. So a trip back later in the day is warranted.

Did we miss the giant sign above the counter explaining it? Yes we did! Luckily, a sweet employee saw our confusion and brought us menus and took our order. We'll know next time to just order at the kiosk. I got the Original Shack Burger, my husband got the Cheeseburger and my FIL got the Local burger. We shared the loaded Comeback fries. Husband got the limeade, I got lemonade, and FIL got Strawberry Lemonade. We all loved everything so much. You can really taste the freshness of the burgers here. My burger was so juicy! I loved the bun and the toppings were just right. Our loaded fries were delicious. I'd definitely order them again. The inside dining area isn't huge but they have a lot of outdoor and patio seating. It was a nice enough day today where these outdoor areas were pretty full. We were there on a Friday between lunch and dinner in the middle of June. While we sat we watched the dining room fill up and the drive thru get busy. By the time we left about 4pm there was a wait for a table.

It's a funky dive with dollar bills pasted everywhere and old Formica tables. It's said to be one of the last places Hank Williams was seen alive. Lots of history here. We ordered one maple syrup and cheddar burger and one Ruben and an order of onion rings to share. Maple syrup on a burger? Why didn't I think of that? It works. Man does it work. It gets splashed on while the beef is browning on the grill so it caramelizes. Then they add cheddar cheese. Dear Lord. The Ruben was greasy and decadent. Too rich to finish but too yummy to leave behind. A very serious problem, indeed. The onion rings were perfect- dropped in hot oil dating back to The Carter Administration. Golden. Loaded with flavor. Deadly fresh and crispy. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Really friendly and confident in what they know is going to blow your mind. Wear elastic waist pants. See your pastor/priest and settle your affairs before you go. You're going to love it.

But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.
