Sloopy's is one of our must visits when we visit Kingsport. We have been eating at Sloopy's for years. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The food is really good too. They have great burritos, burgers, tater tots and hot dogs. Our favorite is the fish tacos. I highly recommend Sloopy's and give it a 9/10 rating.

Definitely a hidden jewel!! It does now look like much but this was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant and the food just reminded you of home( if you are looking a simple dish that makes your inner child giggle) then this will be the place! We definitely be back.

Grilled Cheese

Grilled Cheese was half cooked. A grilled cheese used to be a staple. My daughter did not like her burger. The tater tots were still delicious. Prices are a little outrageous. Sloooy's used to be a staple. I probably would not return except for a chocolate milkshake through the drive-thru.

Food was okay, but what rubbed me wrong is I called in my food and was told 10 minutes tops. Get there 10 minutes later and wait 20, the rude older lady behind the counter was too busy talking so she let me food sit for 20 MINUTES and made me late for work since she didn't check to see what food was ready. Will not be returning.

Once a month my friends and I pick a new restaurant to try around the area. This month we chose Sloopys in Kingsport. It is a small local place and it was a pure delight. The decor was homey and welcoming. The staff was all very engaging and helpful. We loved the place and hadn't even eaten or ordered yet. All three of us ordered the patty melt special with fries and drink. Now, anyone who has ever had a patty melt knows they are either really good or really bad. Sloopys was excellent. The flavor was taste bud electric and just juicy enough to be mouthwatering. I prefer crinkle cut fries as I feel they are the best fries and theirs were phenomenal and plentiful. We had nice conversations with several staff members and as I realized when I got home, lost my cash as it must have fallen out of my pocket. I called and they not only had my money secured for me but, remembered who we were. This is a definite new local favorite. If you visit Kingsport, do yourself a favor and visit the folks at Sloopys

As usual, Sloopy is always good. It's fast food and it's good food. If you're looking for good fast junk food, this is where you go.

One of the better hole in the wall diners. Great burgers and if the owner is around there is some type of floor show /entertainment.

We went on a Tuesday evening and there was only a handful of patrons at the bar and a few tables. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. She had us find a seat and was quick to get drinks and appetizer orders. The menu had many interesting items including about 10 different hot dogs and 10-15 different burgers. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. We had deviled eggs with pimento cheese and fried banana peppers for an appetizer. Both were large and fed multiple people. The eggs were a little disappointing because they were just hard boiled eggs hollowed out with pimento cheese put in place of the yolk. Would have been more interesting to see how it could have been made with the yolk as well. The banana peppers were tasty with a good balance of sweet and crunchy. I had the burger with spicy goat cheese and the banana peppers. Overall the burger was delicious with many layers of flavor. It's a smash patty type burger with crisp edges and cooked well done. While my preference is a thicker juicy burger, this has lots of flavor to it and the unique combinations gave everyone something to try. My side was pickle fries and these were excellent. Some of the best fried pickles I've had. Overall a delicious meal for a very reasonable price.

Uptown Cheesesteak definitely knows what it's doing when it comes to bold, satisfying comfort food…read more From the moment I walked in, the aroma of sizzling steak and grilled onions set the tone for what turned out to be a solid dining experience. The cheesesteak itself was the highlight--thinly sliced beef cooked just right, juicy without being greasy, and packed into a fresh, soft roll that held everything together without falling apart. The cheese was perfectly melted. I added grilled onions and peppers, and they brought a nice balance of sweetness and texture. The menu had a good variety beyond the classic cheesesteak, including poutine, loaded fries and other sandwich and burger options, but it's clear the star here is the signature sandwich. Portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality and quantity. Service was quick and straightforward--nothing overly fancy, but efficient and friendly enough to make the experience smooth. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, making it a great place to grab a quick bite or hang out with friends without any fuss. While you are there, be sure to check out all the unique artwork and murals on the walls. If you're craving a hearty, no-nonsense cheesesteak that delivers on flavor, this place is definitely worth checking out. It's not trying to reinvent the cheesesteak wheel--it's just doing it really well.

I made several visits here to come up with my own assessment of Uptown Cheesesteak. Being originally from the Philadelphia area, I was practically born with a cheesesteak in my mouth. And when I would visit, I always ordered the same thing... the OG Cheesesteak. My conclusion to get this as close to a cheesesteak from Philly... I would ask for double the meat (the ratio of meat to bread must be 3:1 lol) and that the meat needs to be chopped down to near bits. If you bite into one and out comes a huge sliver slice of rib-eye meat, "Negative, Ghost Rider." I will say the fries are excellent. My party and I enjoyed their fries very much. And the staff is always helpful and pleasant; I appreciate them very much when they accommodate my asks. :) THANK YOU!!

We grabbed a booth (you can seat yourself when you go in). Make sure you go in through the ENTER door. We started with waters while we looked over the menu. The waters were 32 oz to go cups! It's been 10 days since our visit and I think I'm still sipping on that water. It was a LOT of water. Our order consisted of a two hot dogs, onion rings, milkshakes, and a hot caramel cake. The hot dogs were good. Not great, but good. The onion rings were very nearly burnt. Probably just a touch too crispy. The milkshakes were ok. But one thing moved this review from a 3 to 4 star: the hot caramel cake. Holy cow. I know it was relatively simple but the yellow cake cupcake, in a bowl filled to the brim with hot caramel sauce, and a tower of vanilla soft serve....YUM! I'd come back here just for that. The service was hit or miss depending on who stopped by the table. All in all, I'd return but I'd try a burger and get a hot caramel cake AND a hot fudge cake.

GPS took me right to it…read more There is a small sign at the far end of the parking lot and a small one on the building above the door. The easiest way to find it is look for a building that looks like an auto body shop. Parking is on gravel adjacent to the building. The spaces are not marked. There is a handicapped sign to the left of the door. There are a few spaces across the street and more on the side of the building. There is a concrete sidewalk in front of the building. The gravel lot is even with the sidewalk on the right side but there is a small step up on the left. The entrance door is in the middle of the building. Walking in, there is a counter to the left where you pay. Bathrooms are straight ahead in the rear. Seating is a mix of booths and various sized tables. Seating is plentiful but well-spaced so maneuvering around is no problem. There was a sign to seat yourself so we picked a booth along the front of the building near the row of windows. Decor is auto related as would be expected. Lighting is bright without being overpowering. Our server arrived in less than a minute to bring the menus and take our drink order. She returned with the drinks in a couple minutes and took our lunch order. The drinks were in very large, maybe 32oz cups. Our server did come by near the end of the meal to ask if we wanted a refill but we still had just under half the drink left. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. The bacon cheeseburger was very good. The burger was hot and juicy and served on a fresh and soft bun as large as the patty. The lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh, cold, and crisp. The onion rings were also very good. The batter was crisp and the onion slightly soft, an excellent combination. The Western burger was another winner. The sautéed mushrooms were not mushy and had a nice sauce accompanying them. The sauteed onion and white cheese added additional depth. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bun soft and fresh. The french fries were thin and crispy but had a nice softness inside. This was an excellent lunch, and each burger was a wonderful flavor sensation. The french fries and onion rings were an excellent accompaniment and deserve mention on their own. Bond-o to Burger also does breakfast and I look forward to trying that soon as well.

I am an early riser so I tend to try to get out to eat just as places open. Thus, my pictures usually show empty seats. Do not let this deter you from trying this place. The decor is nostalgic and tasteful. It is spacious yet cozy. You seat yourself so I chose a booth along the front wall. My waitress was prompt and steady checking on my coffee level. The menu had plenty of options from omelets and wraps to breakfast sandwiches and full plate orders including biscuits and gravy. Sorry I forgot to take a menu picture. When my plate arrived, I wasn't sure I could eat it all. As I began to eat my senses were overwhelmed by all the flavors. It's definitely a great spot to get filled and enjoy good food. They also serve lunch. So a trip back later in the day is warranted.
