We're in Bristol a weekend every year and there's not a location near us so we have to make this stop for fried chicken. We stopped for breakfast/lunch. They serve breakfast all day. My companion had the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and I had a 3 wing meal with mashed potatoes and dirty rice. They are known for the biscuits and they were deliciously hot, flakey, soft and buttery. The mashed potatoes come with sausage gravy which was great spread on the biscuit. The biscuit is a what makes the breakfast sandwich. The wings are on the smallish side but were hot, flavorful and crispy. The fresh coffee was surprisingly good, a smooth light to medium blend. Service was helpful and quick. The dining area and restrooms were clean and well stocked. Hit all the marks for a good fast food breakfast/lunch stop and I got my fried chicken fix. read more

I mean, what do you expect? It's a Bojangles just off the interstate. The biscuits and tater-totlike Bo rounds were too salty, and the fries were soggy. But for a Sunday night near closing time in a small-town, fast-food joint that's part of a mediocre national chain, the fried chicken wasn't half bad. It was appropriately crispy, and at least one of the three pieces of chicken was tender and juicy. And the service was excellent! read more

Bojangles corporate has guidelines that this location just doesn't follow and it shows. The fries are over $4 per large order and they refuse to make them fresh. Biscuits are often hard from sitting under a lamp for too long. On top of the food issues, their morning managers are terrible human beings. Even if you call their attention to an issue- you'll receive an attitude rather than a solution. I haven't given any Bojangles locations a visit/money in over a year because of this location & manager. read more

It would appear that the address currently listed in YELP is not correct because the address on my receipt for store #000441 is actually 24481 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24211, which is right off of the Interstate. Not that anyone is doing a GPS search for a Bojangles franchise as part of their meal planning but throughout the South the ubiquitous yellow signs call travelers to these biscuit focused fast food franchises. Our group needed a break, took the exit off of I-81 and our van full of northerners was curious about just what makes Bojangles tick. Now, I was thrilled with my Southern Filet Biscuit Combo with grits instead of the potato rounds that just didn't look very appetizing as they say behind the glass enclosure waiting for a customer who said yes, make them mine. You need to know I wavered on making this a 4 but I think it was the road hunger that caused that initial leaning because this place is a definite fast food 3 with positives and negatives. Seeing the rolling pin covered in flour confirmed that the tasty southern biscuit that composed both the north and south side of my sandwich was made fresh right there on LEE HIGHWAY. And, friends ... it was good just like a biscuit should be. I almost regretted not going for the sausage gravy and biscuit until I remembered that this is a fast food eating establishment not a diner whose kitchen has the capability of producing fresh sausage fat rendered gravy for biscuits. The young lady who waited on all of us was very pleasant and helpful. 'Y'all have a good day' made us feel like we were in the south. But, the Southern hospitality didn't have the coffee station ready for a breakfast crowd (Maybe true southerners have Coca Cola or sweet tea but we northerners need coffee with breakfast and there was utter confusion with getting the coffee out to us.). Bojangles use to be one of my favorite fast food places to go. When fresh it is by far the best chicken and fries in my opinion. The issue is, it's never fresh anymore. I couldn't even bite into this chicken filet biscuit. I haven't worked fast food in a long time, but this is just sad. For no reason should chick filets be sitting there for hours getting to this point and being served to customers. Fries are the same way. This is just sad. read more

We had a simple order and we're told to pull around to the back door to wait. We waited for several minutes then ended up having to go inside to get our order. They told us the wrong door for starters and then the girl at the counter told us we should have walked around looking for the employee with our order. The very first time I have eaten at a Bojangles. The chicken was crispy and juicy and had very good seasoning. The fries were great.

Biscuits. fried chicken. chicken fried steak. YEA...I'm all in. A nice little drive thru that the Lovely Lady took me to so I could experience a lil Southern Hospitality. Always nice to hang with a pretty and classy lady. It's been awhile. And I loved it/her down to the last tasty bite. On to the biscuits- flaky, buttery. fluffy and damn good. I had the chicken fried steak biscuit cuz I knew I could get a bit of her Cajun chicken biscuit to try also. The sandwich is basic- meat, biscuit, no condiments. Ask for honey and hot sauce....The Lovely Lady knows best. It is a lil dry without a lil something. I added some Duke's mayo (since we don't have that out here) to my steak biscuit, and it was great! The Cajun chicken breast biscuit w/honey and hot sauce was fukin amazing. nice balance of fried chicken, sweet, spicy and salty on a soft buttery bun. We don't get Bojangles up Chicago way.....but I do remember them from my Atlanta days (back in the late 80's & 90's). When I think I Bojangles it is purely for the Dirty Rice. Is there a better tasting side dish in the fast food world? I don't think so. I also think about their Legendary Sweet Tea. Quenching & Wonderful. Now that I think about all the sugar in the tea and all the salt in the Dirty Rice....I wonder how healthily it all is? Oh well.....it is fast food! read more

Pork chop biscuit was sold out. They opened at 6 am. Very crowded but they move quickly. Impressed with the breakfast biscuits we were able to get. (Steak, Cajun chicken, sausage & cheese) all cooked to perfection, not all dried out. read more

Heard about this place all my DC life and never went. Glad I'm here now and it's delicious! If you are to compare this place to something close to LA, it's like the East Coast Version of Roscoes... except it's chicken 'n biscuits and not chicken 'n waffles. Food is good... I would say it's not exactly comparable to Denny's, but it has somewhat it's homestyle feel. I, of course, had the chicken 'n biscuits. Truthfully, it was OK. Typical chicken with biscuits. I'm a big Bojangles fan and have been to at least 40 locations throughout the South. We stopped here on the drive from Wytheville to Knoxville to grab a snack and while the service was good, the food wasn't up to par. We both ordered chicken select combos and the tenders had obviously been sitting out for too long and were overcooked. The fries were lukewarm, at best. Fortunately, the sweet tea was legendary. Hopefully, this was simply a slow night, and a lack of customers kept food out longer than it should, because every tender at Bojangles should be awesome, and it usually is. read more

TERRIBLE service and very unprepared. On a Friday night at 7:30 they didn't even have enough chi Ken to make an 8 piece. They said they didn't have legs so we asked for thighs and then we were told they didn't have that either so we waited for them to cook some. Hello, now usually I wouldn't complain, but they forgot to give us two drink cups. We requested them with the order, we were charged for them, the asked for them over their intercom, but we never received them.
