Place is a small, informal restaurant with fresh food. The guacamole is top-notch and freshly made - truly outstanding. Loved the creamy, spicy dip that comes to the table with a bowl of chips when you first sit down. Went with a group of 6 people and had to separate into 2 tables - not much seating because the place is small. 4 of us were happy with our meals and 2 were not - but one is a Texas snob and the other a picky eater who said here fajitas were salty and overcooked. So obviously the outside of the place looks like a house. I felt like I was walking into someone's home the first time I went there. The chips and chipotle sauce were pretty amazing. The chips seemed to be fried to order and the sauce had the perfect amount of spiciness. The burritos there are ok. Not the best, but definitely could be worse. I'm used to having that chunky carne asada meat in my burritos, but this place as shreds of meat so i felt like I was eating a philly cheesesteak wrapped in tortilla. I tried the chicken one as well, but the chicken was also a little 'stringy' for some reason. If just the meat was a little different, it would have been a really good burrito However, the chicken fajita is REALLY GOOD! They seemed to have mastered marinating that chicken to perfection. They have grilled chunks of chicken, with onions and jalepenos and it's really savory and tasty - maybe the best fajita I've had. It comes with beans and rice - both of which tasted good. If they only used this chicken meat in their burritos, they would have earned the 5 stars. Overall, definitely worth the money. read more

I have eaten at this establishment multiple times. The food is excellent! However the parking is not ideal nor is it in an ideal neighborhood. My other complaint is that the service is less than friendly. I wanted a refill on my drink long before I was asked if I wanted one. But, try the horchata it is sooooo good! read more

This is hands down the best Mexican food I have had since I moved out here from Utah. Very authentic food from very nice people. I had a chicken burrito and my wife had a plate of three tacos with rice and beans. The food was nice and spicy but it didn't burn your mouth and ruin the meal. Jumped off I-81 to go here based on the reviews. TOTALLY worth it! Excellent food, fast service. They make everything here, fresh and wonderful. The guacamole is awesome, and ask about tamales-they're not on the menu, and the sign isn't always up, but they're absolutely incredible. We also ordered the wet carnitas burrito and enchiladas poblano- both great. The default heat level here is medium spicy so if that's not your gig, order mild. The food and service was HORRIBLE! NEVER was asked for a refill nor did she ever come back for us to ask and didn't bring more chips as requested. Sold only can cokes so no free refills or fountain drinks. Waitress was NOT friendly! No queso or salsa available..only pico you could order for $2.75. Out of five of us not ONE person left happy or full! Matter of fact we left SICK and had to go somewhere else after spending $50 there to eat! The nice thing about Chicano's is the fact that the food is home made - rather than fast food style. I'm usually not a big fan of Mexican food except when it comes from Chicano's because it is home made. On top of that, the service is excellent. My coffee cup was never empty and the female waitress was always there when you needed her. The only drawback to Chicano's is the decor. Could certainly be updated in a major way. Drop by if you have the urge for Mexican food. You just might find that you like it more than you thought you wood. read more

This is the BEST mexican food I've found in Scranton. Between the fast service, the price, the large menu and the amazing food, you literally can't go wrong. Yea, the atmosphere of the restaurant isn't the greatest thing in the world, but all of the other qualities make up for that and more. The chicken wet burrito with green sauce is absolutely delicious. I haven't tried much of the rest of the menu, but will definitely vouch for their burritos. read more

This is virtually the only place you need to go for Mexican food in the valley. Friendly staff, authentic food, affordable prices and vegetarian-friendly (ask for the vegetarian burrito). The chips are incredible and the sauce is outstanding. Highlights include Chilaquiles, tostadas, the chips, tamales, and the best and most authentic tacos I've had this side of Tejas. It had a real authentic smell upon entering. The parking space is very limited. Seating inside is limited as well. I order a wet buritto with the green sauce which was amazing. Went twice while visiting for the holidays(third time I've visited overall). I've had the chicken mole twice and found it to be a very good, not too sweet/chocolate, version of mole. They use a leg and thigh combo, so don't order if you're not looking for chicen on the bone. Wife had the chicken tostatas both times and loved them. Also tried the empanadas and didn't care for them too much. The dough was heavy and a little too greasy for me. Have had a few tocos in the past which were okay. The seem to steam the corn tortillas, and I prefer them to be cooked ont he griddle or grill to get a little more taste and texture. Service is slow. Only one watress when we ate in, and she was not a great multi-tasker. She was friendly and didn't make any mistakes. read more
