Excellent high quality Mexican food with huge quantities! I also can't stress how authentic this place is. Today I got the nachos supreme. Fantastic.

Amazing!!! My entire family loved everything we ordered. My favorite was the birria tacos. Incredible. Couldn't even finish the 4 tacos after devouring a million chips with guac. Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff too! Highly recommend!

Second trip to Scranton in quite awhile and coming into town all I could think about was another trip to the Hacienda! Day after thanksgiving still busy but no wait. Had some spicy sensitive folks with me but n worries, everything prepared to order and accommodation to all tastes and needs. Everything was amazing! My guests had tacos and burritos to suit their sensitive palate and were absolutely thrilled with their food. I on the other hand love the heat. I had the hot pork wet burrito. Well, I was eyeing the hot sauce bottle on the table but one bite and it was not required. Woohoo! Good stuff. The meals were huge evidenced by the attached pictures. We all took home more than half our meals. Burritos were humongous! This place is so authentic and yet original. I've been to some of the best family owned Mexican restaurants all over the Southwest. Hacienda Vulcan can compete with the best Mexican restaurants anywhere! Go, You'll not regret it and as I said, Bring the mild palate folks. They will accommodate them, all you have to do is ask.

Possibly one of the best tacos I ever had in my life and most authentic- although it may have given me protruding arteries and congestion because of the amount of sodium but it was so worth it. I followed in because of the high rating and boy were they right. They came with the Birria soup to dip/spread on top of the taco and each one came with stewed beef dripping with flavor on top of cheese that kept these bad boys together ( no slipping and falling ) The tortilla was everything I ever dreamed of and I never received tacos like this in NY - I believe I've only seen these on TV because they're so perfect. It was fried and cooked to perfection. My party ordered the wet burrito half red and half green and it actually came half red and half green in sauce (sauce was on the plate as well not just the burrito) extremely authentic style wet burrito and it was cooked so well and they had lots of vegetarian options for my burrito loving partner. Honestly this was one of the most authentic Mexican food I've had and I'm sure each region in Mexico is different but this was so saucy and yummy I was so satisfied after my meal ... I couldn't finish all 4 tacos so I took 1 back as a snack. Literally bang for your buck.

Torta - Carnitas. Could've used more meat, but tasted good!

Service was very good here, the staff is incredibly attentive and polite. Just wonderful! The salsa with the chips is very good - nice spice to it! I got a torta with carnitas. It had good flavors, I just wish there was more meat on it. That is the reason I am removing the star. Otherwise, the place was colorful, clean, and a good experience overall!

I was in the mood for Mexican food and gave this spot a try. I wanted to call in the order but after many attempts I didn't get anyone so I decided to just try and swing by. I seen that they were opened and was greeted when I walked in. I explained that I couldn't get through when I called. They said it never rang so I don't know what happened. I ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo. It took about 20 minutes and they added tortillas as well. The meal was affordable and I paid and left. When I ate the meal was pretty good, I only wish I had more shrimp. All in all I had a good experience.

I've tried so many Mexican places in the area, and I finally found my go-to. Found in Pittson, this place definitely looks very orange and a bit out of place...almost like it doesn't fit in with the neighborhood. Anyway, I walked in and I was surprised by how small and intimate this location is. I walked in alone and realized they didn't have seating for individuals or couples, only tables for groups (min 4 ppl). Not a huge issue as it wasn't busy or crowded and I could take a table to myself (though I felt guilty about having a whole 6 person table to myself). I noticed most people seemed to come in for pick-up, so my hogging of a table didn't really matter. The waiter/waitress are young adults/teenagers who were quick to serve and take care of you. Very pleasant, attentive and well-mannered. When seated, they bring out chips and homemade dip. The dip is not a traditional salsa, but an orange dip that was mildly spicy and homemade. It owas SO good. I was told the name but I forgot, definitely have to ask for the name next time I go. I ordered the Tacos de Birria and was blown away but how appealing and tasty the meal was (please see photo). The tacos were perfectly stuffed. Crunchy but juicy. Most importantly, filling. At first glance, the tacos looked small, but I had no idea they would be so filling! It comes with 4 tacos and I was only able to eat two of them. The meal comes with a Birria broth (soup with birria meat inside) that is very tasty but also spicy. You can use it as a dip or as a soup. I ordered guacamole on the side, which was made fresh and was the perfect compliment. Lastly, I tried their homemade Tamarindo juice. I've never been a huge fan of this drink, but as I kept drinking it, the taste got better and better. It is a very sweet drink and acts almost like a dessert. All of it was amazing. The meal, the staff, and the service were excellent. Not to mention the prices were fair. I'm so happy I finally found an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area that I can now frequent. Based on other reviews, I'm excited to give the other meals a try. Can't wait to update! UPDATE: Got a chicken burrito for take-out and it was DELICIOUS. HUGE as well. Tasty and filling. Great price too. I'm a happy camper.

I had a long day at work and did not feel like making dinner so I decided to grab a classic plate of enchiladas for takeout. Never really had enchilada like this but they were some of my favorites. Very rich red sauce. Well-cooked and tender chicken that had the perfect bite every time. The cheese was light and profuse. I finished the entire meal in one sitting although realistically this could feed 2 ppl. Although they could be misconstrued as sidekicks, the rice and beans were the star of the show. They were incredible and savory. I may just get these if I were alone.

I ordered the same thing, Enchiladas Roja. HUGE plate of food and everything cooked to perfection. The beans are the best I've tasted, the rice fluffy and light. The enchiladas stuffed with tender braised chicken, topped with cojita cheese and a bit of basil. I shouldn't have, but I ordered a Tres Leches Cake slice for dessert with coffee. Coffee was black and strong, the cake tender and lush. Amazing food, eclectic decor, great service. Great place. I will be back.
