I heard these guys recently started offering vegan cheese, and I was so pumped to try some Chicago Deep Dish! The vegan cheese they use is delicious, pretty mozzarella-like, great texture. My "toppings" were the veggie pizza mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Unfortunately I think the pizza was not as flavorful as I was hoping, the tomato sauce really dominated the flavor profile. I was shaking the Italian spice shaker quite a bit over the pizza. I'm not usually a cold pizza lover, but I actually greatly preferred my leftover slices, I think the cold helped the slices stay more intact and allow the flavor to come through more! I'm still giving 4 stars because I think Deep Dish is just not for me, but I truly appreciated and enjoyed the vegan cheese and the way it was used in the pizza! Staff was helpful and attentive, and the ambience was fun, very Chicago pub-ish. There is paid street parking that is not too difficult to find right in front, and they have a clean bathroom with multiple stalls that doesn't need a code or key. read more

Chicago's Pizza is a classic for a reason. We arrived after a short walk from the metro station and we were seated right away. We were given welcome bread with olive oil, and there was a gluten free option for the welcome bread as well , which was really nice but unusual.. We wanted to share a pizza between two people and were recommended a small size. We were a bit skeptical about sharing a small given we were hungry , but we ended up not being able to finish the whole thing. It was packed with veggies , delish tomato sauce and so much melted cheese. The gluten free pizza crust was excellent and could have fooled me to think it was regular wheat . It was insanely good and super filling. We had some local beers and wine to go with it. Chicago's Pizza might be the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. This is truly an authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza with a gluten free crust; you can't even tell it's gluten free tbh. The cheese and tomato sauce are packed with flavor and it's like eating a giant pizza pie. I definitely recommend the small size even for 2 people, we shared a small and still had leftovers. The restaurant also gave a small complementary gluten free bread with dipping sauce. The service was wonderful and super friendly. If I lived here I would come every week. I can't wait to come back to Chicago to visit Chicagos pizza! I was over the moon when I saw that there was a gluten free, dairy free deep dish option. We came for late lunch on a Monday and we sat outside with no wait. The server was great. We also let her know that we searched far and wide for the pizza and we were happy to be there. The gluten free complimentary focaccia was tasty and my bf enjoyed the non gf option as well. We were pleased with the size of the side salad. The gluten free garlic bread was really soft and super good, and the marinara sauce was very fresh. Then came the pizza. I was ecstatic when the gf/DF pizza came out because it looked so similar to the regular pizza. It was super thick with cheese and toppings and it was great that all the cheese was melted because all DF cheese doesn't melt well. The gf crust wasn't chewy and was firm and didn't fall apart, even with all the toppings and sauce. When they cut the regular pizza, it was great to see all the melted cheese. Both pizzas tasted as good as they looked. I was excited to bring my leftovers back home. I pressed build your own pizza and I am absolutely positive that I pressed the sausage button because I dislike pizza without some topping. Anyways when I told the driver he called and eventually I got the Manager. I should have written his name down. Having worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years as a Manager I expected his tone and more willingness to help to be more professional and understanding. He wanted me to return pizza and wait for another but unfortunately when you have a hungry staff they started in the pizza so I kept the pizza. Look we all make mistakes he at least could have even offered a $5 discount or gift certificate. Since I have limited late night options we will see how next time goes. read more

Visited the Pizza in Lakeview and was impressed in general by the Chicago. The pizza was warm, substantial, and good, and the crust was firm and rich and the toppings were very plentiful. The pizzas don't have much flavor, the sauce is just ok, and the thin crust isn't very thin (it's more like a tossed pizza) and it's a little too bread-y. We ordered a well-done cheese and a garlic lovers gourmet pizza. For both I had to add salt, pepper, oregano, and parmesan and they still were not very good. I rarely do this to my pizza! There are soooo many fantastic pizza spots in Chicago. This might be some of the worst, most boring pizza I've eaten in the city. It's edible, but not enjoyable. The complimentary bread at the beginning is the one thing that was pretty good. It's this rich fluffy, chewy, and crispy almost focaccia-like bread that's a little addicting. The flan was not good. I had it before once and enjoyed it, but it seems to have gotten worse or maybe an off day or something. It was not very creamy and a bit bland. The whipped cream and dulce de leche make it slightly better. The service was slow and inattentive, BUT they do seem to want to accommodate many dietary restrictions, including gluten intolerances, so that's great. There are TV screens everywhere inside, so if you're looking to watch some sports or something, this could be a positive for you. Overall I was really disappointed. They have a huge menu, so maaaaybe there's a future where I try a sandwich one day, but it's highly unlikely given the track record here. read more

Honestly I had an emotional experience eating this pizza!! If you're gluten free/celiac and you haven't been able to eat real pizza in so long you know what I'm talking about!! We came to Chicago from California for a little trip together and I was so happy to find a place that had gluten free crust!! Not like cauliflower crust, but real bread like crust! When we came to Chicago's pizza, it was going through a renovation and would open the next day. Luckily, we were invited to come and sit at the bar even though everyone was still working to get every TV big set up! The deep dish dough was perfect texture and not soggy at all, which was what I was expecting so that exceeded my expectations. Place was pretty, clean, and had great service! Although I will say if you order salad and cheesy garlic bread order the small deep dish as it was half leftover that my husband and I could not finish. I like to support local places and I've eaten at and ordered from Chicago's Pizza pretty much since I came to live in Chicago, so a long time, keep coming back, so they're consistently good. Take out / delivery is reliable and generally very accurate and dining in is like eating at most pizza places in Chicago, cozy and casual. Pizza is solid, but I prefer some of their other entrees myself. Burgers are great. Very good salads, although, like everywhere, very pricey for what you get. Panini sandwiches good, but down to only one now. Fries are average, hard to find good fries anywhere now and I used to love fries. Tater Tots good tho as an alternate. Also, great onion rings. Superior to many other places that have them on the menu. I am not a fan of their adding credit card use surcharges, I get that credit card companies rip off businesses with their high fees, but with direct deposit and not having a car in city, it's hard to have cash around, it's yet another reason why ordering/going out to dinner is becoming a rare treat for so many people. Restaurants need to make money, but remember, your customer is most likely a worker and doesn't have money to burn either these days. I used to order out much more often before 2019, now it's a once a month or less treat so I have to split that among our favorite places to eat. read more
