Me and my wife had a problematic issue with mice in our home and noticed mouse droppings on every level our house. Not to mention mouse sightings in our bedroom, my daughter's bedroom, and in the kitchen area of the residence. My wife and daughter was extremely terrified. I was referred to CGT by my mother-in-law because Jerry has done a fantastic job handling a previous rodent issue at her building. I was told that although CGT was expensive, Jerry was extremely thorough and offered a guarantee with his services. If any further issues continued after the services was completed, Jerry had absolutely no problem returning to rectify the issue. My wife scheduled and appointment and one of the representatives for the company came out to our home and made an extensive assessment of residence. They discovered all of the areas both inside and outside of the home that needed to be sealed and secured guaranteeing that no rodents could gain entry to our home again. I paid half of the contracted amount the first day and the other half of the payment was charged after the completion of their services. During the first appointment, the workers placed poison in areas that the mice may frequent and scheduled a follow-up appointment approximately 14 days later so that way they could seal and and secure the areas both inside and outside of the home that were the most vulnerable to rodents gaining entry to our home. A few days after the initial appointment, my wife called CGT back due to concerns over noises she had been hearing above her head while on the main level of the home, Jerry promptly came back out and placed very large glue traps in certain sections of the home where the mice may have frequented. Jerry also gave us some additional large glue traps to utilize just in case any of them required replacement. Eventually, Jerry returned for the follow-up appointment and handled the job both thoroughly and professionally. Jerry and his workers dug up both the side and rear of my home where the extension to my residence is located, and provided metal planks which were drilled in both the side and rear areas making it extremely difficult for any rodent to dig under and gain successful entry. Jerry and his associates also used a sealant to secure the vulnerable sections both outside and inside my home. I have pics shown below to display some the work which was provided. After completing the job, Jerry and his associates placed the dirt back on the side and back of the house neatly. A few days later my wife continued to hear sounds coming from the upper section of our home and thought maybe a mouse was traveling through the walls. My wife recontacted Jerry, and without any hesitation, Jerry came back to our home and discovered that we had some openings on our roof where squirrels were able to successfully gain entry. With no additional cost, Jerry laid a trap and properly secured the vulnerable sections of our roof. I highly recommend CGT, and although certain companies claim guarantees on their services provided, that's not always the case. I have used Green City Trappers for years now, specifically working with Jerry. I cannot say enough positive things about this company and their service. They definitely get the job done and guarantee their work. I had an issue with squirrels at a rental property of mine. I used another company before going to Jerry but the squirrels kept resurfacing. Jerry safely removed all the squirrels, and mind you it was extensive, over 15, and then proofed the home so the squirrels could not return. TLDR; Hire Jerry for all of your rat problems. Last May I went into the unfinished basement of my Uptown condo to grab a roll of paper towel... out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move - A RAT! I called multiple companies for estimates, and Jerry was the first to tell me what I wanted to hear - that he would be right over! Sure enough, within the hour, Jerry was at my front door. He inspected the basement, explained (as much as I was willing to listen) what rats are, what they do, how they work, as well as the full scope of work he would do. Turns out the one rat I saw was actually just the Justin Timberlake of a whole boy-band fan club's worth of Chicago sewer rats that took home in the foundation of my building (as well as the ceiling of my unfinished basement). SEWER RATS. Jerry put down bait that day, and informed me that he thought the bait would last a few days, but that I could call him if it was gone, and that he would return to lay more bait. Just for fun, (mostly to torture myself with the sight of more rats) I decided to check up on the bait a few hours after Jerry left, AND IT WAS GONE. I texted him, and he called me immediately to let me know that he would return the next day. This happened nearly every day for eight days (8 DAYS), and Jerry was at my condo with more bait every. single. day. Along with showing up every day, Jerry was also somewhat of a therapist and teacher through the whole ordeal. He validated my feelings about the rats (gross, I hate them), and he was a constant source of knowledge about any question I had (although gross, rats are kinda cool). After a week of baiting the rats, Jerry had a crew come in to reinforce the foundation of the basement to prevent future rat activities. Every interaction I had with Jerry was pleasant, and I was kind of sad when the whole thing was over because I liked having him over for rat stuff. The work came with a one-year guarantee. I have dealt with CGT twice and I wish I could give a good review. The first time I had a squirrel in my kitchen (don't ask). And the expert trapper showed up with leather gloves and a bucket and just tried to get the squirrel into the bucket. It was insane. But what can you do? This time Bree came out and first, super nice lady, and I hate leaving a negative review about her. But she was so wrong that it almost really caused a huge problem between me & my townhome neighbors. I have squirrels in my front roof. She said they were absolutely coming in from the neighbors roofs so they needed to get the work done. She didn't bring a ladder, never went on the roof to check for holes, but checked flashing junctions, vents. It sounded good. But my neighbor went up on the roof after I told him and he found a huge hole in the gutter exactly in the spot where i said they are living. And it's not on their side of the building. There was NO NEED for me to tell them that they were responsible to fix their roof. They are pregnant with twins, they really didn't need that stress. And I really don't need to have issues with them. So, I'm really, really unsatisfied and will never be calling Chicago Green Trappers again. read more

In Dec 2018 I contracted this company because squirrels were getting in my attic. Went with this company because they convinced the attic would be checked & disinfected. They showed up when it was dark to install the extruders - and a week later to remove them & seal the openings with steel plates. Wnen I asked about the attic - a worker tracked mud in all over the carpet & just sprayed something through the attic opening. Said he doesn't go into attic. This is a large 4 bedroom house - I don't believe that little spray covered the area. Few weeks later they came back & installed a trap as I could hear something going on in the attic. Came back a day later to remove it. In March I was having some exterior work done & they found 2 squirrels & babies in areas the steel plates had failed. My calls have gone unreturned. I'm very disappointed and would not recommend this company. read more

I called in November about a rodent problem, and Jerry was at my house the next day to look around, develop a plan, and put down some bait until the guys could do the work. It was scheduled very promptly, and the guys came as promised that day. Once the project was underway, it was clear that we needed more work than we anticipated. That was scheduled promptly as well. Everyone who worked here -- Brian, Jeff, Brandon, and more -- was courteous and thoughtful, and they did a great job cleaning up. I've already referred three neighbors and my contractor, who has a lot of clients in our neighborhood. We used Chicago's Green Trappers for an unfortunate rat issue that we were faced with. Our town is basically overrun with rodents and our home is very old and we began hearing noises in our ceiling between the basement and first floor. I contacted an exterminator who came out and threw some bait around and told us not to call them for ten days. Well, that wasn't good enough, we kept hearing the noises and my anxiety was at an all time high. I contact Jerry and he came out the very same day. He walked through the entire property identifying the access points as well as potential future access points. He quoted me a very reasonable price to treat the property that day and come back in two weeks to seal up the entire house, sealing the house with iron, sillicone, concrete and everything else that these little horrible things cannot chew through. After the treatment, the activity was less and less and then gone finally. After two weeks, Green Trappers came out and sealed up the entire house, working tirelessly the entire day and got it all done. And honestly, this was all done during the holidays between Thanksgiving and Christmas, talk about service!! I waited a few weeks to post this to make sure there were no issues and I think its safe to say, we're in the clear. Jerry, the owner of Chicago Green Trappers is not only an extraordinary professional; he is an extraordinary person. I'm an extreme animal lover. I don't kill bugs. I save spiders. For me, the worst nightmare is getting mice or raccoons in the house, any type of critter, because I could never conceive of killing them, ever never. They must be rescued and relocated somewhere comfortable! My last house, I had a horrible mouse problem. One of the wide-eyed little furballs ended up in my bed. I felt something fuzzy crawling down my leg one night, and to my surprise, it was a rotund, white mouse. He was so relaxed, he just looked at me, didn't even try to escape. Imagine the mice in cartoons, the cute ones with big ears--yep, you got it. I had them throughout the house. I called Jerry in tears, and within a couple hours, he had his crew there. They came with "Have a Heart" humane traps. They laid them out every morning for a week, and then returned in the evening to release the traps into the forest preserve. We successfully rescued all of them, and then Jerry's team "critter proofed" the house inside and out using humane exclusion methods. Never had a mouse since. Chicago Green Rescue has done that for three of my homes now, and I would trust them with my life. My boyfriend and I just bought a house together at the bottom of a wild field facing Lake Michigan. Needless to say, our property is full of life! Lizards, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, possums, field mice, bats, you name it, they live there. Jerry of Chicago Green Rescue came out, inspected our entire home, and then sent his crew for their "critter proofing." I wouldn't live in a home that didn't have Jerry doing his thing first. Jerry also cares about and understands the emotions and perspective of his customers. He knows how deeply I love animals. He not only respects it, he honors it. And Chicago Green Rescue does so much more than critter rescue and critter proofing. They'll also come out and do an industrial cleaning if your home has been ransacked by lovely little furballs. Chicago's Green Trappers Bats... Do you think you have bats in your attic? Have you had a few in your house? Or seen them flying around your house around dusk? I had a small colony of bats in my attic and let me tell you it is no laughing matter... not something to put off as it can lead to MAJOR property damage and potentially death of you or your family. Growing up my favorite comic book hero was Batman, just a regular guy trying to do what is right in honor of his parents. But the ugly truth to that story is Bruce Wayne had needed all that money for all the rabbis shots he must have had to get hanging out in that cave all the time. These guys are the real Bat Men! So real quick let's go over some facts, health risks, and property damage risks... Bat colonies are comprised of females, the males live out on their own, and because of this the colony can more than double each year. Bats are the main carriers of rabies, and most cases of rabies in America are caused by bats. Their teeth are very small and you won't always know if you've been bitten. In one of the situations where a bat got into my house, I woke up to a bat flying around my room. Do you have a baby or toddler? Your baby won't know if it's been bitten and won't be able to tell you either way. In the end that bat got away from me and I never found it so I couldn't get it checked for rabies. You see what I am getting at? So in the end I had to get a series rabies shots as a precaution because I had been exposed (Which is a lot more than what these guys are asking for their work) and I ended up sleeping in my tent in my living room for a couple weeks. If you start showing signs of rabies it is too late and you are pretty much going to die so do not wait if you are exposed to a bat or bitten! Only 6 people have ever survived rabies after showing signs of the disease. Additionally bats carry fleas and mites and guano can give you Histoplasmosis, a lung disease, elderly and babies are easily effected by Histoplasmosis. Property damage you ask? All sorts! Bats urine can erode wood, their guano can accumulate and the weight can cave in the ceiling below your attic. Dead bats caught in your walls will eventually rot and smell rancid. Depending on where in the wall the bat has died you might have to cut a chunk of your wall out. I can go on but you get the idea... Another surprising fact is that we need bats! Yes they can be a headache but the environment needs bats to eat the 1200 mosquitoes and beetles they can eat each night. So yes bats are essential to our environment and they are protected by law. So the only humane way to take care of a colony of bats is by putting in "exclusion doors" so the bats can exit but not get back in. Has to be done before or after the colony of bats has their babies. You DO NOT want to try using poison, as it is illegal and will only make the problem much worse! Also sonic sound machines don't do anything. Walking around my house Jerry pointed out each entry spot that he saw- and I honestly had no idea what he was pointing at, I had to have him point and explain where exactly he was looking. I would never have seen any of these entries as a bat can squeeze into a hole a quarter inch in size. So in conclusion I strongly recommend you call Chicago's Green Trappers they are absolutely worth calling, for peace of mind and so you don't have to spend even more money on rabies shots for you and your family or the eventual property damage a colony of bats can cause.
