I had a bad experience with them. Would not recommend. I reached out for a quote. The nice guy said he would be in my part of town in about a week and swing by. He did. I asked him about water flow, he adjusted a valve and he gave me a quote for biweekly pool cleaning service. All nice. In and out maybe 12 minutes. Later that day I received an invoice for $442. lol. Never any prior mention of a fee for "swinging by." Bummer as I would have hired them but was so turned off by this deceptive behavior. read more

I wanted to thank Tom and Chris for their hard work on our pool. We had a situation where our pump died late in the season in '23 and we tried to replace it ourselves. We got some bad advice and bought a pump that was way underpowered for our pool. Then last spring I broke a finger and we didn't have money to have somebody else help. So when Tom showed up our pool put the local duck pond to shame and to make things worse I had modified the pool panel to use the wrong connection. Tom only took a few minutes to figure out the solution and get going pumping near sewage water out of our pool. Including animal carcasses. By the end of thw evening it was filling up from the tap and by the next day he had the new pump running with chemicals starting to balance and had our stairs in the water. His price was great for what he went through, when some people would have just walked away. We are so grateful he was able to put everything right and can't wait to get back in the water. read more

We usually live in the White House...... ok, a White House, that on occasion has a tendency to turn green in spots due to algae. Green to some might be the luck of the Irish, but not if it's growing on the side of your house. Not wanting to run afoul of the homeowners association, it was time to take action. Several neighbors recently had their homes power washed, none were happy with the results. So, it was off to Yelp and to look for home soft wash company. After reading all the Five Star Reviews, I decided to give them a call. It was easy to get an estimate, answered a few short questions about the size of the house, taking pictures of the exterior and texting them and shortly after we received an estimate via text. The estimate was clear and concise, listing the services provided and their three year warranty. It was easy to communicate with Tom (the owner) and on the day of service, he even called that he was on his way. They showed up on time, a father and son operation and don't let me forget, the daughter who does the books. I wasn't able to hang around while they did their magic because Lola (our boxer) had a veterinary appointment. Arriving home we were greeted with a sparkling clean White House, not a sign of the green mold that was rearing its ugly head (poetic license- mold doesn't have a head, but I standby the ugly). We recently bought a house that had some mold and moss growth on the roof. Our insurance said they were going to drop us if we didn't get it removed. We called several companies that kept giving us a run around. I finally came across Chicagoland Softwash, and Tom was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very responsive and informative, and let me know exactly how he would deal with the issue. Even with colder weather effecting the chemical, he had a boiler to make sure we would keep the temperature high for the chemical to penetrate and work properly. We also requested that Tom clear our gutters and downspouts, as there was a blockage somewhere. He did all of this quickly and efficiently and was sending pictures and texts throughout the process. I contracted Chicago Softwash to power wash my balcony, which was in pretty bad shape. The balcony consisted of cement tiles whose ridges were covered in a film of algae in some places, quite a bit of dirt buildup and weeds growing between the tiles. I had to pay a deposit of over $100 just in order to schedule, which is something to note. We had to reschedule twice - the first time, a job he was on took longer than expected, and the second, he came but was unable to get my washer to hookup to his machine. He had to go to Home Depot a couple of times during the appointments because he needed some unexpected parts. I did eventually get the service done, and he did a good job. He got rid of all the almost all the dirt and removed the algae. He washed my windows for me, too (though looking at them, they still look quite dirty, so I'm not sure how much that helped) and removed the old grate covering my drain, advising me on what to install instead. Tom was very kind and I could tell he put his best effort into the work. There is a bit of residual dirt which I will just sweep up, and there was some on the carpet that I had to vacuum, but other than that the balcony is clean and fresh. One thing that I didn't like was that he got water on my carpet when removing the hose - I had given him a bin for the residual water, but he gave it back to me too early, and quite a significant amount of dampness remains. It will take some time to dry and I hope it doesn't mold. If you are considering their services, note that they were expensive, over $500 for a 6 x 26 balcony, and whereas I could buy a decent power washing machine for about $350 and do the job myself. I am not sure how they compare to the value and service of other companies. But I felt it was important to get a professional, considering this was the first time the balcony had probably been cleaned since its first owner occupied the unit. read more

The previous owners of our home let moss overtake the roof. We hired softwash and they applied a chemical to kill off the moss. We were told it would take a few weeks for the moss to fall off- he was right it did take like 6 weeks before the dead moss finally washed away in the rain.
