We started using Arvidson's for our pool last year. We do the maintenance, so we use them mainly for testing water and buying needed chemicals. We've gone to a few other pool stores over the years. I found that Arvidson's is the best at understanding what pools need for the right balance, and then following up to ensure everything turned out okay. I went there two days ago, and I had a high level of ammonia in the pool. I have no idea how that would have happened. Rather than sell me an expensive round of chemicals, they told me to drain 1/3 of the water out of the pool and refill it. They said that would mean I would need less to balance the water. When I returned today, the Ammonia levels were low enough that I didn't need to do anything other than add (a lot) of chlorine. More than anything, I trust their judgment in chemically treating pools. read more

I would leave negative stars if this was an option Bought a 18,000 dollar Caldera hot tub that was delivered 7-7-26. Spa was delivered with a bad front panel that has not been replaced yet because the replacement they sent was also damaged!! . Then the my IQ water testing system and air lines for some of the jets hasn't worked since day 1! I was told several times that I was at fault and I was in-capable and doing it wrong. BUT THE WHOLE TIME THE SPA WAS BUILT POORLY AND THE TUBES WERE PINCHED BEHIND THE TUB AND THE FRAME! Arvidson technicians came out for the 4th time and finally figured it out after they removed all the blow in insulation and compromised its retaining structure to find the issue on my two week old hot tub and tell me that they are going to cut the tubes and splice them together and slap the panels back on. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I paid full price for a new working unit from the factory not a screwed up build done on a Friday at 4 O'clock. ZZ in service told me they are filing a complaint with the manufacturer to get me a new tub and I haven't heard anything since 8-28-26 and it is now 9-24-26 now they don't answer my calls or call back STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY read more

I bought my above-ground pool from Arvidsons about 20--yes, 20--years ago. I have continued to have it serviced by them all this time. We buy our chemicals from them, have the water tested for free by them, have the pool opened and closed by them. When we needed any kind of new equipment, I have entrusted the knowledge and service provided by their Service Department. I have especially enjoyed working with Peter, ZZ and Sheryl. Recently, I ordered the wrong service and Sheryl made it right without blaming me or overcharging me to get it fixed. I trusted them to deliver and install a pool beloved by my children and now my grandchildren. Thank you. read more

Called today to get my spa closed for the winter. Nicole answered and couldn't have been nicer. I explained to her that I needed it done sooner then later. She said she would try to connect me with the service team. A lady answered and I tried to explain the situation. She cut me off and yelled service!! what do you want. I tried to explain and she yelled Service. This is the second spa I have purchased from this company. I then proceeded to call Nicole back and explained the rude call. She new exactly what I was saying and who answered. I owned a service business for 41 years and I know how not to treat a person. There are so many other places to get service from and I have already scheduled a appointment. I feel sorry for the employees. If I was the owner, I would be embarrassed. read more

I have been a believer in Arvidson's for almost 10 years now. They never oversell and give great, honest, professional advice, solidly grounded in water science. We just converted our pool to Optimizer, which honestly had me a little skeptical. How can this stuff not raise my TDS plus reduce my chlorine and other chemical requirements!? 2-Good-2B-True is almost always exactly that! But three months later and I am SOLD! I asked Rob to explain the Arvidson's corporate strategy behind selling something that saves its customers money and was totally impressed. Talk to them and try these folks out. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed. read more

I have asked three girls names; Savannah, Kaitlyn and Emily. These three I can tell work very hard in retail working with service and parts! They have great energy and are very kind to local customers. These three really make me feel seen! read more

We wasted days looking at pools here and getting bad information. Detailed quotes were prepared for our review but the pool they quoted could not be installed as they described. Once we figured that out that the pool they were selling us could not have a deep end - we told Arvidson and they said they would look into the matter and call the supplier. They promised to get back to us as soon as possible. It has been over two weeks and no has called back. We went to another pool place - they apparently want to sell pools and are working with us. I don't have an issue with the mistake Arvidson made - I have an issue that they never called. I know they have our number because they contacted us in error about another customer's order. The people at Arvidson were friendly but just not knowledgeable about the product they offered to sell to us. Additionally, their estimated installation costs were way off. We were told about $3,000 to $5,000 for a fully recessed pool. It is closer to $20,000. Our backyard has easy access and is flat - the $20,000 was quoted by multiple installers. How could a pool professional not have a clue about installation costs? in retrospect, we should have realized that their estimate was absolutely ridiculous. It appears the Crystal Lake store has an more experienced pool person. We had our issues with the Palatine location. It almost seems as though they don't want to sell pools. read more

What a disaster! We put 80% down for a new liner to confirm our install date on May 28th. Our new computer system we had ardvison put in a few years ago broke down all summer and no one returned our calls to come fix it, so our liner fell apart due to a chemical imbalance. Here we are on June 30 and this is my pool (picture below). We were kind to give them a month to figure out scheduling and June 28th came and went. When we call to get answers, they act like they have no clue what's going on. So unprofessional and frustrating. Horrible service, ruining our summer, just the worst! read more

Arvidson Pools & Spas - Wow, look at our new liner! (There is no new liner, or water, our a working pool computer system). Fail, fail, fail. - Pool Cleaners Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

We have an older hot tub and no other pool business would help us problem solve the blower issues we were having. Arvidson's (ZZ and Tim) got us in and helped us figure out the issue and repaired as good as new! Excellent service and repair! read more

When I started shopping for a hot tub/spa I started my calls around to get an idea of what was available. Knowing nothing about spas other than poking around online looking at some options. When I called Arvidson's in Palatine and talked with Jimmy I felt at ease with the process. This was well before he gave me the name of competitors to call to make sure I looked and talked to everyone. How professional! Jimmy took the time to go over what my options were, invited me to the store to actually test drive models. This is a guy who really cares about what he does. I am amazed after owning the spa just under a month at the the incredible knowledge and customer service Jimmy and Arvidson's provides. The delivery team was the best as well, and even Jake from the store made a special trip over to drop off a vacuum and set of stairs. Jimmy is a man of his word, from the first time he gave his cell phone, he said we would have lots of questions and he would be there to answer calls and txts and it is all starting to make sense. If you are in the market for a spa, my advice is to call everybody else first and then call and ask for Jimmy and you will see what I mean. You could just save some time and call Jimmy first, he has been doing this for 20 years and is an honorable man that will not steer you wrong. Kudos to the Arvidson's team, you truly know how to take care of a customer! Highly Recommend! read more

I recently bought a Hot Springs Spa from Arvidson's Pool's and Spas. After looking at American Sale, The Great Escape, and Arvidson's we decided to go with Arvidon's. I am so glad we did. Not only did I get a great price (I shopped around) but the service from the locally owned company was AMAZING. The store manager, Jim McLernon has been great to work with and really cares about his customers satisfation. Buy from this company! You won't be sorry!!!! read more

I am disappointed with Arvidson. Very pleasant folks, but their statement that they have spa supplies is overstated. They do have basic chlorine and bromine, but no real repair supplies or much in the line of pumps or filters or even vacuums. The reason they gave me was lack of space, but the place was mostly empty. If you live close, consider them for the very basics. Otherwise, try elsewhere. read more

Absolutely the only place you want to purchase a hot tub from!!!! Financing available too. After purchasing a hot tub from American Sale once I left the store there was no other assistance at all!!!! No one cares the staff is different every time you go in there. After a $20,000 purchase I expected a lot different treatment. Been treated better buying groceries from Trader Joes!!! Those people are awesome too. Jimmy at Arvidson has been so helpful in keeping my hot tub water perfectly balanced. They are so knowledgable and have a testing service for no cost to be able to advise you on exactly how to balance your water. Jimmy the manager at Palatine treats me every time like I bought my hot tub from them knowing the horrible experience I have been dealing with with American Sale. Everyone at Arvidson has been very helpful. Definitely future purchases will only be with Arvidson!!!!! read more

I have been calling pool companies all day, all over Chicagoland regarding my above ground pool liner. I was so frustrated as most of the people answering the phone were inexperienced, too busy to help or really didn't care. How do these companies stay in business? Arvidson Pools and Spas was next on my list. A young man answered the phone and immediately knew where to transfer my call. I was transferred to Nadine in parts/service. Nadine knew exactly what I needed. She did a little research on the product, and called me back promptly. She even went the extra mile to refer me to an outside contractor who could help me with the work. What a great experience. This company is a good distance from my house, but I don't mind the drive to be helped by quality salespeople who know their product well, and who provide great customer service Thank you Nadine and Arvidson Pools! You pretty much saved my summer. read more

We bought a hot tub from Avidson's about 5 years ago. The process of buying and then being educated on how to care for it was great! Jimmy was an exceptional help and gave us a lot of personal help and attention. However, the past year or so, the maintenance and billing departments have been disappointing. They neglect to send me bills and Invoices or communicate about repair costs in a timely manner. They schedule times to come out and complete a repair but don't show up and don't call to let me know. They come and do half a repair but don't call and let me know they encountered a problem or when they'll come back. When I call to ask, I have to leave a message and the response time is very long. I feel like they've lost that personal touch they had at first. Better communication could go a long way. The repairs they do are great. I hope things turn around. Don't want to go through trying to find another repair company. read more

Wow, I talked to a lot of spa folks today, but Nadine at Arvidson was incredibly helpful. I'm not sure, when you break down the price, if you're paying the same or more than others, but I do love the packages. With Ardvison, they include the deliver, cover, etc. You get a complete deal. They've been in business a long time, I'm pretty confident I will get good service in the future, based on the ratings. read more

I recently bought a hot tub from Jimmy at Arvidson in Palatine. He is the best. The service has been top notch. Jimmy and his team were responsive, accomodating and even encouraged me to go shop the competition. Since receiving our hot tub, Jimmy has been in touch weekly to help with chemicals and has always made himself available for any questions. If you are in the market for a hot tub, you should make sure to put Arvidson on top of your list. read more

The customer service was not acceptable in the Palatine store. Jimmy I believe even mimicked me and my voice. After he tested my water he then told me to do something very drastic. Luckily, I decided to get a second opinion. I went to a family owned business in Fox Lake. They were extremely helpful and after they tested my water told me what needed to be done. My pool is now in great shape. read more

We are just blown away with the AMAZING customer service Jim provides! He is so knowledgable and instructs us exactly how to maintain our spa. And so patient to explain it in dummy terms for us first timers. Not only is the service great but the price of the spa was right, the delivery was flawless and Jim has followed through with everything he's promised and then some. We shopped around a lot and are so glad we decided to get our spa from here. We are so pleased! read more

Still love this place, nice large location.. great staff. The printout reports are much better then trying to guess colors when your pool is out of wack. I hope this place is able to stick around. read more

We bought a hot tub here 25 years ago and besides a few small repairs over the years it kept going and going. When it finally died we felt we were not quite ready to go without another one...so we headed over to Arvidson once again! Jimmy greeted us and was so very friendly and helpful. We bought a new hot tub and they picked up our old one a week later. And the next day Jimmy shows up to shows us how it all works! Very helpful and said we can contact him on his cell if we have have a question! Above and beyond service and love the new hot-tub too!! Thanks Jimmy for all your help! read more

My wife and I bought a hot tub from Arvidson in September. The manager, Jimmy was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and couldn't be more patient. Their prices were very competitive and the service with Jimmy sealed the deal for us. read more

We spent a lot of time researching which Hot Tub to buy with different stores. When we happened to drive by Arvidsons we stopped in and were sold right away from the most personable, honest, knowledgable sales person.... Jimmy!!! From the beginning he worked with us and we constantly were in the store or calling since we had so many questions cause this was such a big purchase. Everthing we talked about was spot on! Jimmy was great!!! When the crew delivered the hot tub they did a great job and were very helpful. However, Jimmy came out to the house to show us step by step what to do with Chemicals and offered all his suggestions to keep the hot tub maintained properly. He even gave us his cell so we can text him any time. And when we do, he responds asap. Arvidsons is extremely lucky to have Jimmy and the crew. We highly recommend Arvidsons and are very, very happy!!! read more

Another solid pool store. Great prices and customer service. Laurie is super attentive and knows her stuff. I highly recommend this place on the northside. One negative, they still cant beat online prices. read more

We have lived in the north shore for almost 4 yrs now and have encountered many contractors and service support for our home. These guys are TREMENDOUS and have provided the best level of customer service we have experienced to date. They didn't oversell us on a hot tub. Jimmy Mclernon's, store manager, level of service is impeccable. I text every Saturday morning the results of my water testing and he confirms treatment required. He stops by our home at moment notice for any questions we have. They are as cost competitive as Amazon on chlorine and other chemical purchases and hand deliver. He truly provides a level of customer care from the date of our purchase decision and thereafter, continuing even today to ensure we are happy. I highly recommend them for your hot tub needs. read more

We are new home owners as well as new pool owners. We have called Arvidson's so many times already to help us keep the pool going, fix breakdowns and just generally teach us what the heck we're supposed to do with all of the equipmnent. Carlos and Travis have taken reallly good care of us, are extremely professional, and don't make me feel like an idiot for all of the questions I ask. We have also been in the store a few times for their free testing service. I love the print outs!! Great service. read more

Outstanding customer service. Jimmy has been great to work with. So very knowledgeable and has helped us (who are new to this) to understand everything. Always there to answer questions and solve any minor concerns. Never a concern to contact him for anything. Quick and complete answers to any issues regarding water condition and/or any service request. Highly recommend Arvidson Pool & Spa in Palatine. Wouldn't even consider going anywhere else! read more

We looked at several places for hut tubs, but liked the knowledgeable staff at the St Charles location. We purchased a 2015 floor model at a good price and had to hurry along to make arrangements to have it installed. The cement guy they work with was pretty good. The pad turned out to be a foot short after it was poured, but they came right out to fix the mistake. The electrician they work with was another story. He miscalculated where the electric should be and when they delivered the hut tub, it was off centered on the cement pad. What made matters worse was that we were having and enclosure put around the hot tub, and there was no room for error. Unfortunately, the enclosure is also off centered on the cement pad. In fact wewere originally told by the installers of the enclosure that it might not even fit on the cement pad since the tub was so off centered. This was a huge blunder and long story short we hired another electrician to complete the job. I highly recommend Arvidson for hut tubs and supplies, but do your research and hire your own electrician for the job. We are enjoying our hot tub, but the whole install process was very stressful. read more
