When I noticed the Bullfrog Spa store in Gurnee, I recalled that I saw them at the Lake County Home Show, so I walked in. George and Levi helped me with my spa purchase. The one thing that was appealing is that the cover, the cover lifter and the stairs are all included in the price (not nickel & dimed, like other places), and they also included a 4 month's supply of chemicals for my tub. Great price, quick delivery, seamless transaction...Where do I sign!? Then their tech, Ashley stops by to check on things, provides me with more education on the spa, shows me how to operate it and use the chemicals; he was a wealth of information and told me to call him anytime if I have questions. He collected prepaid money from me, claiming the funds would be used to order the required replacement parts for the spa repair. After I sent the prepayment, Mr. Cruz essentially vanished and failed to follow through on the service he was paid to complete. The company missed their first scheduled service appointment entirely and never showed up at my property. After that no‑show, I reached out repeatedly. For months, I have been calling and sending text messages roughly every two to three weeks trying to get status updates, reschedule the repair, or get my prepaid funds back. Their pattern of behavior has been extremely frustrating. Sometimes they would reschedule my service appointment, only to miss that new appointment as well -- another no‑show. Other times, they would simply ignore my calls and texts completely with zero reply. To this present day, I have still not received any meaningful response from Mr. Cruz or anyone representing Happy Pools and Spa llc. No parts have arrived, no repair work has been performed, and my prepaid payment is unaccounted for. I deeply regret that I did not look up this business on the Better Business Bureau before I booked this service. He does some additional work around the area like cleaning out the gutters so the leaves don't get into the hot tub. If there is an issue, he does not stop until it is fixed, including multiple visits to make sure and then he doesn't even bill me until the job is completely done. His prices are very reasonable and he will look for the most economical solution for repairs. It is hard to find such honest service these days. Be patient, he is a one man shop so may not be able to service right away.
