When I called to discuss our concerns, the staff was rude and unprofessional. The manager, in particular, showed very poor customer service and seemed completely uninterested in addressing our concerns. Rather than listening or trying to make things right, the receptionist repeatedly tried to upsell us on additional services instead of resolving the problems we were already paying them to fix. Overall, our experience was frustrating from start to finish. We hired Lotus Pools to maintain our pool, but instead we ended up with problems we had never experienced before and poor customer service when we tried to address them. Invoice #5389. I paid in full, up front, by Zelle -- because Zelle and Venmo are the only payment methods they accept. That should have been my warning. There is no real invoice trail and no way to get an official refund. The tank was never installed. He played me for weeks with one reschedule after another, and I don't believe he ever ordered it. When I finally cancelled, he suddenly had a family emergency and no one was available. After the cancellation, everything became an issue -- the weather, family, no crew. I emailed the main business email to see if anyone else there could help me. Nothing. The only number you get is Genaro's. He does all the negotiating himself and sends his guys out to the jobs, so there's no one else you can talk to. When he stops answering, you have no one to call. I got a partial refund of $1,000. The remaining $1,377.93 has never been returned. I have been texting him for months. A few things I found out afterward that I wish I'd known: Their website lists a phone number and a Gmail address. No business address. No owner name. No license number -- for a home repair company. The BBB lists Jonathan Cruz as the principal contact and business management for Happy Pools and Spa. They rate the company C+, not accredited, with a complaint the business never answered. Illinois law requires a written contract for home repair work over $1,000. I never got one. Please read the other recent reviews on this page before you hire them. Look at the names and the dates. Multiple people in 2025 and 2026 describe the same thing I went through -- deposits and full payments taken, work never started or never finished, no-shows, ghosting, and refunds that never come. Several say they're going to small claims court or to the police. It is not one bad season and it is not one unlucky customer. This wasn't play money for us. It was my kids' summer and our savings. I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, disputed the payment with my bank, and I am filing in small claims court for the balance. If this happened to you too: file with the Illinois Attorney General at 1-800-386-5438, file a BBB complaint, and file in small claims court. It's about $139 and you can do the whole thing online. The more of us on record, the harder this gets for him. Do not pay this company up front for anything. Do not pay by Zelle or Venmo. Get a signed written contract before a dollar moves and even then you will spend months chasing them for your own money back on work they will never do. My paver guy has already come out early this spring and try to repair some of it. However, he said he's afraid he's gonna have to peel back another layer all the way around dig all the black dirt out and put sand in there like it should've had. And this pool service does not care. The entire experience was a mess. They left all the huge pool boxes and pallets behind, saying "we don't touch those." This is not what you expect when spending thousands on a pool. I advise others to find their own installer and not rely on whoever Great Escape connects them with.

Rolando was the service man who came out and he was excellent! He drained, cleaned and filled the tub and allowed me to watch how he did every step and explained the entire process. We inherited the hot tub when we purchased the house this summer and hadn't used it yet. He was so thorough and we appreciated his knowledge and friendliness to answer all of our questions, as well as explain the chemicals we would need to maintain the tub.
