This is our new favorite to go place! The food is delicious and plentiful! Flavor is the key and it was perfect. The platter comes with a big Greek salad rice and yummy unleavened bread. There was so much gyro meat that it made a sandwich the next day. The rice is moist and lightly seasoned. The kabob platter came with the same sides and had plenty of chicken. Each came with a small cup of sauce. The owner/chef was so appreciative of our business! They have a variety of sandwiches including a gyro, Philly cheesesteak and more. I've wanted to try this place for a while and finally did, and it did not disappoint. I got the Chicago gyro meal which came with Greek fries and a fountain drink of your choice and it was honestly really good--flavorful, fresh, and just hit the spot. The service there was also super fast and the people were really nice, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I'll go back to!! read more

Kind, quick, legit! A single guy, working hard behind the counter! (But he usually has his brother by his side...) Taking calls, making gyros, and preparing food. A local made a recommendation as I waited: if you like hard cider, come here to get your gyro, then pop next door to enjoy a cider! Good advice if you ask me! Other reviews read great! We called ahead and came within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, our pitas were so dry, they were cracking open. :( And the chicken, while flavored very nicely, was pretty dry as well. Fries were fresh and well seasoned! Baklava was delicious, but on the small side. Flavors for everything were on spot. Ask for the spicy garlic rolls to add some kick to your gyro. There's many reasons to like Chicago Style Gyros. Really good gyros, easy parking and super nice people behind the counter. I don't get here as often as I would like but firmly believe they have the best gyros in the GR area. There is a also pretty comprehensive menu that includes other wraps, sandwiches and salads but I come here for the great gyros. Prices are reasonable, food is great and staff is nice. A pretty good combination in my opinion. read more

I am not kidding when I say this is some of the best food in the city. My first time here, and it certainly won't be the last. The quality and amount of food you get for the price simply cannot be beat! The Chicago Gyro, pictured, was so insanely delicious, and easily two meals worth for me. We also had the seasoned fries which were quite tasty. My husband had the Koban's Choice and could barely stop eating it. The service was great-they could tell we were first timers and were so patient explaining as I couldn't hear well from behind the plastic for the toppings. This was my second time going, the first time was quite a few years ago. I don't remember what I ordered but knew it was good. Today, I tried the hot Italian beef sandwich and omg the flavors of the beef and the au jus were phenomenal. It's not often that food can blow me away like that but this 100% did. The workers were incredibly kind and portions were huge. I will absolutely be back and soon! read more

This restaurant is pretty unassuming from the exterior, but it's clear there is a lot of pride in the quality of food within. I ordered the gyro salad with all of the toppings. There is bar of fresh ingredients that you can add to your salad or wrap to customize it to your specific taste. I HIGHLY recommend the pepper relish! It's not too spicy, but adds punch of flavor. We order take out from here at least once a month and it is always amazing! We order via phone every time and have never dined in. Our food is always hot and fresh when we pick it up and it retains the heat until home. The authenticity that this food brings is top tier! The lamb is always nice and lean with meaty pieces. I love the salad and it's always loaded with veggies. Pro tip: when ordering a platter, get the salad on the side vs with the platter so that the entree isn't mixed with the salad. We always see the same man when we pick up so we assume he must be the owner and he's always so kind. Love this place! read more

I had been looking for a good gyro spot in GR since I moved here. I found this place as I was near the area. I ordered the chicken gyro combo and baklava for pick up. The service was quick and the people working are super friendly! They also had masks on! The gyro was fantastic, and the fries were seasoned perfectly. The meat wasn't dry at all and it was seasoned perfectly. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions and sauce definitely came together really well. The baklava was also very tasty and not overly sweet. I will definitely be going back to this place and trying something else next time. read more

Stopped by due to the yelp reviews... Had the Chicago gyro combo... phenomenal is the word. So damn good. Only thing I wish they had was homemade pita bread. But the bread they have is still good. The fries are really seasoned well and are very tasty. Also my wife had a gyro dinner which she also equally thought was great. Comes with a salad and rice w the gyro meat as well as bread. Also a hot dog for my youngest who scarfed it down. And to top it off baklava. Wow was it good. Certainly getting it again. Service was friendly and nice. Prices are affordable. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu. read more

Ordered the Chicken Platter and a side of Hummus. The chicken/rice/salad platter was delicious. It was a great sized portion and had great seasoning. I really liked the dipping sauce. It came with a huge pita bread if you wanted to make a wrap. The 4 stars is because the hummus was not my favorite and the rice was clumpy and sticky and not in a great way. It was bland. The pita bread that came with it was warm and yummy. I would eat here again. read more

Let me be the first to say that I was WRONG about this place. It was good the first time and maybe my tastebuds were a little off, but this place definitely deserves 5 stars. Went back for the Chicago gyro and omg. The freshest gyro I've had in awhile. Also a must have is their baklava!!! Trust me, you will not regret that first bite. Give this place a chance if you're downtown. Even my husband said this place deserves a chef's kiss and that says A LOT! read more

The cool thing about GR is we are between Detroit and Chicago so we have a access to both foods. If you're into authenticity then this place hits the spot for all the Chicago staple foods. Came here in the afternoon of Black Friday, the store was quite empty and the guy (not sure if that's the owner) was nice and warmly greeted us. We got a gyro wrap combo and gyro platter. Generous portions and the fries are so so good. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the the seasoning (lemon garlic salt?) is on point. The worker was really fast, hardworking and we enjoyed our food. Would come back often if we lived close. Very happy to support local small business. read more

My bf and I both got the gyro combo and hummus delivered for lunch today and I am currently typing this while fighting off a food coma. The gyros were SO good, the meat was not dry and the portions are huge; definitely have another meal out of it. The humus comes with freshly made pita and is definitely a generous portion, also super good. The fries with the gyro combo were well seasoned. We got a side of tzatziki sauce each (I think it was like $1 extra) and it was also super good!! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good, reasonably priced meal that will definitely provide you with leftovers! read more

I have been going to CSG for several years with a co-worker or 2 usually at least once or twice a month. Artise and Ness took over from their aunt and uncle and do a great job with both quality and presentation of their food. Their aunts rice recipe is incredible and I recommend it instead of fries. I usually either get the gyro combo or the gyro salad. Ingredients are very fresh with a great variety. The gardenia is a great finish to either. Have also had the steak sandwiches that were very satisfying. For something different the loaded fries are fantastic but show up hungry. read more

If you're the kind of person that complains because the food takes long to come out... Go somewhere else! But if you appreciate fresh and quality, check this place out. We got, what we always get, the Chicken Shish Kebab Platter and they make your food to order, so it's fresh and hot. As my daughter and I prepared to attack our feast, the staff payed attention to our expressions as we took our first bite. I can ALWAYS count on them to make my meal fresh and delicious! read more

I can't wait to go back. I live up by Big Rapids where the restaurants are seriously lacking in deliciousness. The great things about the gyro is that it's wrapped perfectly to place in your cup holder when you're driving and it stays together well in its paper wrapping, and it's soooooo yummy. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in GR so I can try something else. Chicago style gyro is just off Leonard and there is a free parking lot next door. read more

The steak and mushroom soup was really good, with chunks of meat in a creamy broth. The snert soup was very salty! The menu description indicated the snert soup should have sausage or kielbasa in it, but we didn't notice any. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating, but I'd probably just order there next time. You can also get samples.

Chicago Style Gyros is my favorite spot for gyros here in Grand Rapids. The food is always delicious and the staff is always pleasant, and the couple that runs the place are sweet and delightful. Even though I moved to East Town with a number of other gyro joints within walking distance, I still make the trek to Leonard street whenever I get a hankering for gyros, which is quite often. The lounge adjacent to the main restaurant area is very comfortable, with couches and coffee tables and Mediterranean music. I was told they want to use the room for a hookah lounge, separate from the restaurant, which would be great if they can figure out how to get around the ordinances restricting tobacco use. I recommend the restaurant's namesake Chicago style gyro, along with chai or turkish tea. read more

I absolutely love this place!! I love their falafel sandwich and I get it almost every single time!! The owners are absolutely the nicest people I have ever met too! They really care about their restaurant and you can definitely tell through the high quality of their food. This place is an absolute must try if you have never been there! Absolutely, positively the BEST Gyro I have ever had. Made fresh before your eyes. Choose your veggies and sauce. All fresh ingredients & homemade sauces. My son and I saw a sandwich board on the sidewalk advertising a gyro lunch with fries and a drink for just $7.99. I am so glad we decided to try it! We love this place! They always take such good care of us. Today we wanted our sandwiches deconstructed so we could reheat them later and they set us up with extra meat, all the condiments, and extra fries and baklava for the kids. We left feeling pampered. Mr. and Mrs. Pektas are such wonderful people and the food is wonderful. My favorites are the Southside Gyro or the Italian Beef, but best of all is of course the Kurdish Chai. I could drink a whole pot of that Chai. Definitely worth a visit. read more
