Last week, my wife and I stopped by Boardwalk Subs in the late afternoon. It's our favorite place for subs. I ordered a 6-inch roast beef and cheese sandwich with all the condiments plus mayo. Unfortunately, the workers made some mistakes, resulting in missing ingredients and little meat or cheese. Although the taste was still good, it wasn't quite up to the usual standard. My wife ordered the French dip but was disappointed; the sandwich lacked meat and cheese and was a bit over-spiced. The lines were long, and the service was slow, but the staff was friendly and engaging. It is a nice bright place with an inviting vibe. This was a great option for a catered event and everything was prepared fresh. The bread is so soft and the subs are full of meat. Some of the best quality subs in the area. The sandwiches are good. The environment is terrible. Smoke fills the space. I will not make the mistake of dining in again. Pleasant and helpful staff making your sandwich they way you like. I choose the drink with my meal and come to find out they no longer have ice tea as a zero sugar beverage. There is not even a bottled ice tea option. The smoke in the space is a huge problem. Fantastic subs! Rogue option was very good. Definitely recommend that. Horrible customer service. I'm old school and could easily not revisit based on customer service. Staff seemed more concerned with getting ready to close and go home making the customers feel like they were bothered to make a sub and this was 2 hours before close. First thing to know is that these subs are giant. They don't skimp on ingredients. The service is fast and friendly. It is just different enough that it sets itself apart from the others so if you are tired of your normal sun shop this is a good choice. I generally stick with 3 things at a sub shop Turkey, salami, tuna. Obviously not together but Turkey and/or salami are hard to mess up so my real test is the tuna. The tuna is great! Approximately 3 weeks ago I stopped in and ordered 2 large turkey subs to go. It was 15 minutes before closing so maybe it was my fault for stopping by that close to them closing. But I was the only customer there and staff were standing around so they weren't busy. I was shocked at the lack of turkey and cheese they used for each sub. When I got home and my husband and I started eating our subs, my husband made the comment about the lack of meat and cheese on his sub. This place seriously has some huge subs. You get 15 inches of love with a full sized sub. The meats are freshly cut right in front of you and all of the toppings are fresh. I waited 15 minutes in line only to be told it would be another 30 minutes because they were running behind on online orders. I understand that there are staff shortages but why wouldn't you say something immediately instead of wasting my time and the other customers time. Never again. I've given this place a try 5 times in the last year or so and each time I have a horrible experience. I've tried multiple different meats and every time they taste spoiled and rotten. I love the shredded pickles though, and this time thought I would try a veggie sub for 1 last chance. Went into the store, asked for my veggies on it (eg: light tomato, etc.) and when I asked for extra pickles a very rude manager without even acknowledging me or looking up said "we don't do extras". Tried Boardwalk Subs for the first time at work for a party. The vegetarian subs are really lacking. 2 slices of cheese, 1 thin tomato and a pinch of lettuce. The meat subs had 1 slice of cheese and a stack of meats. So veggie subs get one extra slice of cheese and that's it? Very disappointed. read more

The service was at for a place like Mr. only two kids working but they worked really hard and were polite the entire time, so I would recommend this place over like Subway which is right down the street from the subs are very good and they have a large variety of choices. I asked for extra lettuce, extra onion (had to pay for them it ended up being a 14.00 sub but whatever) I didn't even get a regular amount of lettuce or onion and the other veggies I requested were pretty much nonexistent, there was so much mayo it was plopping out of the sandwich. My husband and my son both LOVE this sandwich shop, which means we grab food from here probably twice a month. It's definitely a cut above the chain sub shops. The meat and cheese are sliced to order, and they have offerings such as prostini and capicola, in addition to the basics (ham, turkey, roast beef, salami, pepperoni, meatball, tuna, chicken). The sandwiches are enormous and a great value for the price. They do the combo thing with chips and a drink, and they also have cookies. You can have your sandwich as a lettuce wrap if you are avoiding gluten Sometimes there is sparkling water in the cooler, but not always. I don't drink soda or chemical-laden beverages, so I find it nice when there is a carbonated, unsweetened drink option. I do wish the wheat bread was whole-grain. We've never tried salads or soups, but they are available. They also run daily specials, which you can find on their website. Then when it was finally my turn they said they were out of tuna and they never got a shipment in that day. That was the only thing that I could eat on the menu.
