Today I was craving a healthy yet speedy lunch, so I thought Zoup was the perfect choice. I got there when there was a reasonable line of 2-3 people, but there was only one register open so it took about 5 minutes just to order. Also, I think some of their staff were new there because the team of 5-6 people prepping orders were very slow for the number of employees. There were 2 orders in front of me yet it still took almost 6 minutes for them to assemble my chicken fiesta salad, ladle some soup into a cup, and put it in a bag. The biggest disappointment of my visit was that the people prepping taking orders gave me just the food-no napkins or utensils!! Honestly, do I need to actively ask just to get the bare minimum I need just to even eat my food? Are they expecting people to bring their own metal spoons? Is this a regular practice for Zoup? Perhaps the staff was new or undertrained. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. That being said, the food itself was great. Nice fresh French bread-crusty on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside. Chicken pot pie soup was thick, warm, and comforting, although I could have done without the potatoes in the soup (I feel like it doesn't quite belong there). The salad was the all star-creamy and delicious chipotle ranch dressing, well balanced toppings, large slices of fresh chicken, lime juice flavor, a nice bean, corn, tomato salsa, and crunchy tortilla strips. There was kale in the salad, but everything else was paired so wonderfully that it was actually enjoyable to eat the kale! The hot honey chicken sandwich was delish! Sweet and spicy, messy and crunchy. All good things. The broccoli cheddar soup was just okay. It's missing something but I could put my finger on it. Really good, crunchy rolls and a great selection of drinks. Staff was friendly and your food comes out quickly. A number of the tables were dirty but it might have been because it was just after the lunch hour. Staff wiped down the tables, but not the seats, which also had crumbs on them. Quality spot to grab a quick lunch. Of course, they are known for their large variety of soups. With a couple that are always on the menu and lots of others that change daily. The chicken pot pie is a fan favorite. You can check the website for the list of daily features. I love the fire roasted tomato and the butternut squash soups. They come with bread and I like the pick 2 menu. It's nice to be able to get half a sandwich and a small cup of soup. I like the pesto 3 cheese- especially with the tomato soup. They have Mac & cheese for fall which I ordered today but do not recommend. It's got a similar flavor to Panera but with less quality. I had to add salt and still didn't love it. I like their agua Frescas. Lots of different flavors and tastes like fancy vitamin water. I like Zoup! For lunch. You can count on them to be consistent and offer a nice variety of warm soups. Driver wouldn't respond and give me a number at DoorDash to call to complain so I'm out the delivery fee and 20%+ tip. I won't use Zoups app again. read more

So the first time I went here I got a sandwich, an order of Mac and a salad for two people. Lots of food, all well done, but very over priced for what it was. This time I got the fire roasted tomato bisque and it was amazing. Still overpriced. The guys working the counter were very nice and I appreciate all the care they took to be clean and safe in regards to covid, but they forgot one of our soups, it took longer than it should and again.. really over priced for what it is. Overwhelmingly mediocre. Poor dis-organized counter service, high prices and small incomplete meals not being served as described. I gave up looking for the bacon promised as part of my turkey bacon club mini sandwich. My cup of seafood chowder was almost half full. My self service cup of ice water from the fountain was the only thing that was served as requested. All this for $12.00 plus tip. if I could give you zero stars, I would. I have never been served such an awful looking salad from a restaurant in my entire life. I picked up my takeout order and when I opened the bag at my office, I am it looked like something that had been rotting for 2 weeks. When I called to report the issue, the person who identified herself as the manager said "that's just how the lettuce looked when it got delivered to us". I said well this is not the right lettuce and it looks like it's rotten. She said " it's perfectly safe to eat, there's nothing wrong with it". I told her there was absolutely no way I could possibly eat the salad and I wanted to return the salads and get my money back. She said I'm not going to give you your money back because you got what you ordered and there's nothing wrong with it. She did offer to remake the salads for me another time when they had better lettuce, which, in itself is an admission that the salad was bad. That is an unacceptable option, I will never in my entire life eat anything that comes from Zoup I would post pictures if I could, but there's no option. This place is empirically unsanitary and hostile to customers. Here are the details: We ordered online dinner for my family last night. One of the salads we ordered had human hairs in it. There were 3 (*THREE*) human hairs. We asked one of the co-owners (who asserts that he is also the so-called "General Manager" -- using that term loosely here) for a refund for the salad. Our total order was for 4 people. We simply wanted our money back for the hair infested (again, with *THREE* human hairs) salad. We were asking for nothing more than that refund -- notwithstanding the fact that the rest of us entirely lost our appetite for all of the other food we paid for on our fixed income, as a result of the dangerous and unhealthy food conditions. He refused. He said the only option was for us to drive 30 minutes for them to remake the salad (yes, he actually said that....) -- presumably this time without the hairs, but I legitimately tend to doubt it would be any safer to eat. My gentle, tender, sweet wife called him first. He wouldn't even take the call; he relayed the message through an employee when my wife asked to speak with him. So, I called. I'm less sweet. (Especially when the other person is disrespecting my sweet, tender, and gentle wife.) After using reason (with him still refusing the refund for the unsafe, contaminated salad), I advised him that we would be sharing his unsanitary restaurant conditions and self-destructive "management" on Yelp, Google, Facebook, Twitter, the city of Grand Rapids health department, Michigan regulators, the franchisor, and the BBB. So, I am fulfilling my commitment to him. I hope this saves others from this fiasco of an unhealthy, hostile restaurant. [Note: I noticed this Zoup restaurant has only 3 of 5 stars here on Yelp. The girl who came out to serve me was incredibly patient and helpful - even offering recommendations because there are no samples right now for safety. I decided to stop here after work to warm up with some soup. I've always enjoyed it in the past and thought this time would be no different. Unfortunately we cannot sample the soups due to the pandemic which is understandable. I ordered the lobster bisque as recommended by the employee with my bogo bowl coupon. Unfortunately, it was not for me and it was too fishy for my liking. I attempted to take the soup back not eaten, requesting replacement soups of a basic chicken noodle instead since I was not satisfied. I would of ordered something I would have liked if I was able to taste it prior like you usually can but I do understand the circumstances we are under. They declined to help and offered to take my name and number and someone could contact me. I explained I wanted to eat my lunch today, not next week. Had an average experience. I went to the Kalamazoo location a few years ago and remember it being excellent. Went with some family the other day, and we got the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The tomato soup was really really good. We tried both types of the tomato soup, and both were great. The grilled cheese, on the other hand, was a huge letdown. It looked like it had never been acquainted with the top of a grill - it was more like two pieces of lukewarm microwaved bread with already-congealing cheese inside. My husband stopped here to pick up a couple of bowls to bring home for dinner. We had never tried it before. I got the Maple Kick and he got the Korean Zing. When he got home we saw that they had given him one big container of broth for both bowls. The bowls tasted okay but we would've ordered something different if we'd known they only had about half the listed ingredients for each bowl. (We don't know if they didn't have the ingredients or if the person didn't know how to build them). I stopped in to Zoup the other day because it was close to an appointment that I was going to. I'd never been to a Zoup before and don't usually visit chains that often but this was conveniently located. They have a large selection of soups each day, and you can try as many as you like. I tried 3 or 4 and didn't really find one that was awesome, but I did the Pick 2 with a half sandwich and a cup of soup. The combo comes with chips or bread - the chips they had were really good! It was a brand I'd never seen or heard of before, and I love chips, so that was fun. The sandwich was huge! It was definitely enough food and I even had leftovers. It was a little pricier than I was expecting, but the quality of the ingredients was there. Overall, I would definitely choose Horrocks over this (a local place where I often get a soup + sandwich) or even Panera, if I was going to a chain. The people working were friendly, and the place was clean. Plus there is plenty of parking, which is always nice. Zoup is pretty cool because they offer such a variety! Twelve soups daily, from vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, even seafood soups. They have a "Pick Two" option, which is 7.99. And you can get free samples. I got the Lemon Caper Tuna Salad, which was nothing too special. Normal Iceberg letture, with a dollop of tuna. Vegetable Bounty soup had a hint of sweetness, I think cinnamon? I enjoyed the soup very much. Bread roll was too dry, not much substance. Eric got a MTB (mozzarella tomato basil). Sandwich bread was a little better, generous helping of mozzarella and basil. He enjoyed his Chicken Pot Pie soup, said it was comparable to Panera Bread. Bottom line: Similar to Panera, bread not as good, but a bit healthier. About the same price. Mind over matter, food over mind. read more

Scoop it into a bowl, put it in a bag, have a nice night! No, 35 mins later, several people coming in and waiting for their orders also, we finally get our order. Took it home and opened it up, Luke warm! Didn't taste fresh either. This is a restaurant that just heats up everything! I knew I should have went to Russ', could have got fresh soup and sandwiches for the same price.
