Excellent food and service! The best Mediterranean food that we ever had! Mahdi was super friendly! We will return our next time in town! Nice ambiance and music.

The food here was pretty good and the service was friendly. I liked the lentil soup but it did not come with lemon so you may have to ask for it. I tried the salad, soup, hummus with chicken, and shish tawook. I like that they let you get only veggies on the side in place of rice. The baklava was just ok for me.

Came here during lunch because the brunch place next door was busy. It was not busy at all in here and there were only a couple other customers which should've been a sign because it was also during the weekend and good restaurants would typically be busy. I decided to give them a chance though since I had never been here and ordered the shish combo and chicken saje for me and my brother. It was a big portion for both so you do get your money's worth, but I wasn't a fan of either. The meat was dry, the veggies weren't well cooked and the rice was bland. I would not be going here again unfortunately.

First time here and it didn't disappoint! We got the shish combo. The beef and chicken were super tender and tasty. The rice was actually super tasty as well, which was shocking. And the vegetables were also great! The one negative was the long skewer meat was dry and needed sauce. My girlfriend really loved the salad, but I thought the dressing was bitter (I couldn't eat more than a forkful). Lastly, the lava cake and baklava were super tasty. The baklava tasted crunchy and sweet. The lava cake had a rich chocolate tastes and was just big enough for 1 person.

This place is the real deal. For lunch on the day I got a gyro plate with salad hummus side. The gyro meat comes with pickled beats and grilled vegetables. The hummus is as authentic as it comes and the bread small loafs. Wow. Go and enjoy this place. It's authentic Middle Eastern food.

Very generous sized portions, and it tastes amazing. My second time ordering here, and first time doing carry out (thanks COVID). For only $15, this has been enough for at least two meals. I highly, highly recommend ordering carry out for this place during this time. Split it too, if you want! Leftovers are always great too.

The atmosphere here is expressive in such a limited space, being inside a strip mall. It is very colorful and shows of the culture. A very unique and fun place. I ordered the Shish Combo. This consist of the Kabob, Tawook, and the Kaffa. The Kabob is Marinated Steak. The Tawook is marinated Chicken cooked Charbroiled. Lastly the Kaffa is a Ground Beef, kinda of like a long burger. The meal started with some real good Pita bread served with a Fantastic dip. The dip was just lightly spicy, that left a small tingle and had a fantastic taste profile. Next up I had a Chicken Vegetable Soup. It was so delicate and delicious. Next up were the Shish's. They were very good, but honestly not as good as the soup and pita dip. The Tawook was best, followed by the Kabob, and lastly the Kaffa. The Kaffa was a little plain. I've also had much better white sauce. Wasn't bad just a little plain tasting. I'm not a big rice fan, so I got fries instead. Wow excellent fries. Not really special, however they were perfectly cooked. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The just the taste of fried potato. I wanted to try their desserts, however due to the very generous portion sizes, I was stuffed! The service was very good and friendly. However go in knowing English is not their first language. Be patient. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, it's great to have choices of different cultural foods to choose from. This is their 2nd location, their other one is on 28th St.

I was in the mood for some shish tawook and falafel - didn't want to drive too far. Forgot this place had opened up on this side of town! Got a falafel app along with a tawook and tabouli sandwich. WOW! The flavors of the tabouli and the chicken really went well together in my pita. The falafel was large and had the perfect consistency. Fried and crisp outside with soft inside. The garlic sauce is good too! Couldn't have asked for a better lunch today.

Thank God for this place. Ever since Pita House closed the Grandville area has been desperately lacking a good Mediterranean restaurant - until now. Fortunately, they were able to open in spite of the stupid Corona pandemic. Everything we've tried here in our multiple visits has been great. The stuffed grape leaves are a little dry for my taste but they are still really good. The service is fast and friendly, the prices are fair and the menu is really comprehensive. I usually am pretty stingy with my 5 star ratings and typically only use them for actual "fine dining" places, but this place deserves the 5 stars based on the quality of the food, the price point and the service. I just wish they offered at least beer and wine to round out they dining experience. The bottom line: if you like mediterranean food you will enjoy eating here. Great service and great food (especially for this area of town). Only downside is they don't have a bar so water or pop (yuck) with dinner.

I'm a huge snob, even when it comes to dive restaurants. I have resolved to only write positive reviews on places that I believe truly deserve the praise they have earned. This is one of those places. This joint is completely unassuming. Sparse decoration, low drop-tile ceiling, brightly lit (too bright for your usual Mediterranean joint), HDTV menus near the front register... But, does a restaurant need anything other than a great menu and delicious, freshly prepared, well-spiced fare to be an amazing experience? I answer loudly "NO!" This restaurant is wonderful. They serve some of the best Mediterranean food I've had, and I've been many places throughout the US and internationally. Finding this in my own back yard makes me so happy to live in GR. My wife and I split the spicy feta fries, which neither of us could stop shoving in our mouths. Now, a bit about me - I survived a massive heart attack five years ago. Five bypasses. Month in a coma. Six months learning to walk again. I SHOULD NOT BE EATING FRIES!! And yet... I couldn't help myself. Each bite was perfection in crispy potato form. And a heavy garlic presence. The toum is worth it. Completely worth it. Gives Sheshco a serious run for best in town. Not greasy or too "mayonnaise-y." She had the shish tawook ("chicken kabob") and I had a gyro pita. Her chicken was stunningly tender and temptingly well-seasoned. Rice was floral and delicious. Hummus, not quite garlicky enough, but smooth and refreshing. And the Nutella cheesecake was heavy and smooth and wonderful. My gyro was obviously done in-house, same as the pickled turnips ("liyft"). love pickled turnips, and I truly believe that these aren't the commercially available jarred ones. Gyro meat was well-spiced, perfectly tasty and amazingly tender. The service was warm and friendly. Wife and I will be back again...and again. We hope to see you there!! Worth a drive and some time. Bring an empty tummy and get ready to enjoy!!

I have noticed that over the past year, this stand has changed at least once, but it's always been a Mediterranean type of casual spot where they make your food in front of you. I wanted a salad recently and saw they had a kale salad on their menu at Damascus. The menu board said it was $5 for a "regular" and $8 for the larger size. I ordered the regular kale salad and asked to add gyro meat. When the order rang up, it came to $15 after tip! I was a little shocked but didn't say anything since I didn't know if maybe he misheard me or the prices weren't correct. Either way, it was a little shocking and I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought he'd make the salad right there, but someone in the back brought out a bag to me. It felt heavy! I opened up the container and had to laugh - it was a massive portion of gyro meat completely covering up the small salad! I did get my money's worth, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Either way, the salad itself was delicious. Honestly it was too much meat, even for me (a meat lover), and some of it was a bit dry. I know my coworkers enjoy the bowls at this spot (but they have also mentioned how the price can vary wildly for them) so I may try one of those next time I'm in the mood for something a little healthier.

Came in this evening to get some dinner that wasn't a burger or pizza. It wasn't our first time and we were greeted promptly by a staff member. We talked for a moment while we looked at the menu which he told me was updated 3-4 weeks ago. Long story short, I ask if I can order some single items off the "extras" menu to put together some food since they got rid of their old platters and beef kabobs. Of course, they say yes and after a few more minutes of discussion, we put in an order and have a sear. 10 minutes later, our food is done and the staff member brings over our food. I say thank you and we head out. Once we get outside, I make the comment to my wife that the bag feels SO light. Once in the car, I hand it to her, and she agrees. We get home and open the bag (it's stapled at this point) to start unpacking - the portion sizes were ridiculous. So ridiculous in fact that I threw each container on the food scale to see how bad it actually was. Spoiler alert: inconsistent portion sizes, incredibly small for the cost, and not even what we expected to get. Photos attached - 2x 16 oz. rice orders, one 10.19 oz and the other 11.75 oz., 2x beef shawarma orders, one 4.13 oz., the other 2.68 oz., and finally, 2x chicken tawouk, one 6 oz., the other 4.37 oz. Total price, $33'ish dollars for two portions about the size of a Panda Bowl. So, I called the shop - the same person who rang us up and brought us our food picked up the call. I explained the issues and he was receptive. He apologized and asked what he could do to make it right. He also said that the portions are packaged off site (I assume at their other location) so it sounds like they just reheat precooked food vs. actually prepare it fresh. I told him that I appreciated the gesture but we wouldn't be back - the cost, the portion size, and now knowing it's essentially reheated leftovers is enough for me to drive a bit further, save a couple bucks, and have an actual meal.
