My family of 7 were in the mood for something different and we came across this fabulous, hidden gem! We all ordered different meals and each and every one of them was delicious and very fresh! The staff was very kind, professional and attentive throughout, and the service was excellent! The homemade rolls were to die for, as was the delicious bread dipping paste! I ordered a sample platter, and it was honestly the best meal I have ever had eating out in my entire life! There was so much delicious food served, that we all needed boxes, and I believe my leftovers will last a couple of days! So, if you are looking for a very reasonably priced place to eat out, to try something different, get in your car and drive as fast (as the speed limit allows) as you can, and get to the Byron Center Le Kabob. Came here during lunch because the brunch place next door was busy. It was not busy at all in here and there were only a couple other customers which should've been a sign because it was also during the weekend and good restaurants would typically be busy. I decided to give them a chance though since I had never been here and ordered the shish combo and chicken saje for me and my brother. It was a big portion for both so you do get your money's worth, but I wasn't a fan of either. The meat was dry, the veggies weren't well cooked and the rice was bland. First time here and it didn't disappoint! We got the shish combo. The beef and chicken were super tender and tasty. The rice was actually super tasty as well, which was shocking. And the vegetables were also great! The one negative was the long skewer meat was dry and needed sauce. My girlfriend really loved the salad, but I thought the dressing was bitter (I couldn't eat more than a forkful). Lastly, the lava cake and baklava were super tasty. The baklava tasted crunchy and sweet. The lava cake had a rich chocolate tastes and was just big enough for 1 person. read more

Le Kabob is all about quantity but not quality. I ordered a lunch portion of the hummus with beef and walked out with 3 full-sized containers of food. It was a ton of food! With that said, the generosity does not extend to the quality of the food. The hummus was oddly runny and lacked flavor. Almost like they were thinning it out to increase the portion size. The beef on top was over cooked, the veggies were half raw and half overcooked and the rice was colder than room temp. This place is the real deal. For lunch on the day I got a gyro plate with salad hummus side. The gyro meat comes with pickled beats and grilled vegetables. The hummus is as authentic as it comes and the bread small loafs. Wow. Go and enjoy this place. It's authentic Middle Eastern food. read more

This was a great find on a road trip through Grand Rapids. Place was clean with a lot of carry out orders waiting to be picked up (as sign it's good). We were seated immediately, as no one was eating in yet (it was maybe 5pm when we arrived). The pita bread served after ordering was FANTASTIC and served with a very garlicky hummus (good, but maybe a bit too much garlic and we think some onion). We ordered our dinners, all some kind of Kabob plate (2 of us had the Kafta, the other two had the combo--one chicken, one kafta, one beef.). The order came with rice and vegetables (or you could get fries) and a choice or soup or salad. I had the house salad (a standard "Greek/Mediterranean" salad. This also had a lot of onion in it). The food was great. The chicken could have had a little more spice to it, but the beef kabob was fantastic. Veggies were squash and carrots (grilled carrots are tricky to cook and these were a little too undercooked for my preference). That bread though. You gotta have that. Definitely a good find. My son was eating his leftovers today for lunch and said we need to eat there on our way home from vacation. thanks Le Kabob. These Persian Restaurant/Kabob lovers thought your food was fantastic. Two small draw backs--our server did not write down the order and brought a salad instead of the lamb chili for one of us. So we waited for that to hit the table. And when the entrees came out, 3 of us got our food while we waited a bit for the last plate to be set. (Like we were looking for anyone to check on us. Finally we got up to walk toward the register thinking they didn't get the order right and the food arrived). Very generous sized portions, and it tastes amazing. My second time ordering here, and first time doing carry out (thanks COVID). For only $15, this has been enough for at least two meals. The atmosphere here is expressive in such a limited space, being inside a strip mall. It is very colorful and shows of the culture. A very unique and fun place. I ordered the Shish Combo. This consist of the Kabob, Tawook, and the Kaffa. The Kabob is Marinated Steak. The Tawook is marinated Chicken cooked Charbroiled. Lastly the Kaffa is a Ground Beef, kinda of like a long burger. The meal started with some real good Pita bread served with a Fantastic dip. The dip was just lightly spicy, that left a small tingle and had a fantastic taste profile. Next up I had a Chicken Vegetable Soup. It was so delicate and delicious. Next up were the Shish's. They were very good, but honestly not as good as the soup and pita dip. The Tawook was best, followed by the Kabob, and lastly the Kaffa. The Kaffa was a little plain. I've also had much better white sauce. Wasn't bad just a little plain tasting. I'm not a big rice fan, so I got fries instead. Wow excellent fries. Not really special, however they were perfectly cooked. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The just the taste of fried potato. I wanted to try their desserts, however due to the very generous portion sizes, I was stuffed! The service was very good and friendly. However go in knowing English is not their first language. Be patient. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, it's great to have choices of different cultural foods to choose from. WOW! The flavors of the tabouli and the chicken really went well together in my pita. The falafel was large and had the perfect consistency. Fried and crisp outside with soft inside. I love Mediterranean food! I had such high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, it really missed the mark. The Beef Shawarma Plate had a huge portion ... but the meat was very dry. We ordered grilled veggies for the side but they were raw. We also ordered the Sampler Platter For One. Again, there was a huge portion of food. But I only enjoyed about a fourth of it. I did enjoy the hummus and the meat grape leaf. I do not think we will be back to visit since we tried a good variety of the menu. read more

Thank God for this place. Ever since Pita House closed the Grandville area has been desperately lacking a good Mediterranean restaurant - until now. Fortunately, they were able to open in spite of the stupid Corona pandemic. Everything we've tried here in our multiple visits has been great. The stuffed grape leaves are a little dry for my taste but they are still really good. The service is fast and friendly, the prices are fair and the menu is really comprehensive. I usually am pretty stingy with my 5 star ratings and typically only use them for actual "fine dining" places, but this place deserves the 5 stars based on the quality of the food, the price point and the service. I just wish they offered at least beer and wine to round out they dining experience. The bottom line: if you like mediterranean food you will enjoy eating here. Great service and great food (especially for this area of town). Only downside is they don't have a bar so water or pop (yuck) with dinner. read more

Stopped into this new location right by where we live during a weekday lunch. I was thinking it would be busy and it wasn't actually, just a few tables. However several tables were sitting dirty. There seemed to be 2 front of house employees. The acoustics don't seem great, as we heard a constant stream of kitchen noise sitting at a table on the wall adjoining the kitchen. I didn't mind but my mom who has sensitive hearing aids did. Lunch specials are a great deal and you get quite a bit of food. We were also served pita and garlic sauce. I would have preferred the pita warmed, as it didn't seem super fresh and warming it might have made it seem fresher. I had a fattoush salad with chicken and it was good. Not my favorite food of this type in the whole Grand Rapids area, but much closer than my favorite so it works in a pinch. Service wasn't great. We had to ask twice to get silverware meanwhile sitting with salad and soup we couldn't eat. Maybe they had some staffing kinks to work out. Definitely a good food option to mix it up in this area. I'd give it another shot and see if there's improvement. read more

The portions here are massive. There were 2 of us and we ordered a sampler platter for 1 which definitely could have fed 3, maybe 4. That may be slightly skewed though because we filled up on their complimentary bread and garlic dip prior to the entree being served. I personally do not enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, but I really like their house salad: fresh and citrusy. I do like hummus, but their blend is quite different and I did not like it. The Baba ganoush, which is an eggplant based dip similar to hummus, was bitter and had a coffee taste at the very end. All the other food items were rather bland to me or very fragrant without rich flavor: grape leaf rolled meat, spinach pie, lamb pie, grilled beef and chicken. Service was friendly and accommodating. I came to Le Kabob during lunch hour, expecting it to be packed. It wasn't so I opted to dine-in. I ordered the Shish Kabob sandwich. I had great exceptions and it started out wonderfully with the pita bread with garlicky dip they serve. The bread was fluffy and steaming and absolutely delicious. Then, came my order...while the fixings and pita roll itself was very flavorful, the meat was tough and I wish, it had little bit more punch of seasoning.
