Lunch on a Monday and not only are they fast for our office orders but they're so good. You can't beat a healthy and filling option. They're a good, busy little shop. The employees were super friendly, and the line moved quickly. Indoor seating was functional, but I usually prefer non-hightops. However, the person I was meeting there arrived before me. The menu is very customizable, which I loved. The Gyro rice bowl was good and a decent sized portion. Thankfully, the restaurant has lids so I could take my leftovers home. From what I noticed, the restaurant stayed busy and was quite loud with the guest and kitchen noises. I had to report for jury duty recently at the courthouse downtown, so Nate and I decided to have a lunch date and stopped by Parsley. It was a Monday around 11:30 am and they were a bit busy with to-go orders and a few people in the restaurant. The person taking our order at the counter was awesome! I wish I got their name. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and told to ask questions or if we needed recommendations to let them know. The menu consists of salads, rice bowls, wraps, appetizers, and some sides. It had been a while since I'd been to Parsley, but I had an idea I wanted a wrap of some kind, so I got the chicken Caesar salad wrap and Nate got a small Greek salad with a side of fries. You can add toppings to your wrap or bowl, but I just got the wrap as-is. Again, the employee ringing up our order was so friendly, kind, and helpful - I need to stop in again and get their name. We were told our order number would be called shortly and directed to utensils, water cups, etc. The dining room is pretty spacious and I like sitting at the windows to people watch. Our food came out quickly and everything was super fresh, and the fries were extra hot! The chicken Caesar salad wrap was full of tender chicken and the pita was soft, not stale. All the lettuce was crunchy and I loved the parmesan in the wrap. I am not typically a big fan of Greek salads, but theirs is amazing! The dressing is so delicious and I loved that it wasn't covered in big slices of raw red onion. There is onion on the salad but it must be chopped. The small size was perfect for us to share with the rest of the meal. I commented that next time I'd just order a large one to split. It was so good. The fries were thick steak cut fries, which were super hot and delicious. They do have a full bar at Parsley, which makes it a nice spot for dinner. Pro tip, park in the Monroe Center parking lot (attached to Leo's) for some free parking on weekdays before 6 pm. read more

On a quick visit to downtown Grand Rapids we stopped in here for a light bite for dinner. The portions are super generous-we had a regular sized portion of baba ganoush which we couldn't even finish, and they gave us three generously sized pitas. I would have liked the pitas warmed-they came rolled tight in a plastic bag-but they were nonetheless good. The baba ganoush was smoky and the tahini came through, two keys to a good baba ganoush. We also had the stuffed grape leaves which were nicely marinated and had the fresh cool taste of mint and just the right vinegary tang to them. We ordered a small portion which was still a generous 5-6 pieces. I would say the large portions at this place easily will feed 2-3 people, so if you're ordering a couple of dishes for a party of 4, 2-3 large portions will easily be enough, but 2-3 small portions will be good for lighter eaters. Staff was super friendly and folksy, it's nice to have some one chat you up briefly and make friendly small talk, and the guy at the cashier was very nice. This place is amazing. I first discovered it in 2011 when I lived across the bridge. I've been eating lunch here at least once a month for over a decade. I recommend getting a sandwich combo. You can't go wrong with hummus and salad. Their Greek salads are also amazing. You'll want to bathe in the garlic sauce they put on everything. The lentil soup is perfect for a winter day. You cannot go wrong with this place. It is light food in big enough portions that you'll feel satisfied without feeling like you need a nap. The staff is always friendly and the service is super fast. Great for a casual lunch or dinner. I've often gotten several different lunch combos and eaten them for lunch for the week. This was very good. I was dining today with a native of Lebanon so my review includes his take on this experience, as well as my, less-discerning one. We ordered the falafel bowl and the chicken shawarma wrap. Both were good, we loved the authentic-style garlic sauce on the wrap. The chicken was a little on the dry side, the vegetables fresh. I learned the flavor of tomatoes over-power the shawarma, and wouldn't (shouldn't?) be included on such a wrap. But overall, this was good. The falafels were great, could have used a bit more salt, but authentically prepared and delicious. Personally, I could have eaten just falafels and tahini and walked away satisfied. The vegetables in the bowl were fresh, plentiful and delish - love the chopped pickles in the bowl. The spicy rice was ok. While both entrees were good, neither got us excited about getting over the finish line by eating every last bite on our plates (a yellow saffron rice would have changed that). We love that Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine was represented and done well. A few minor improvements would make this a top-spot in our books. read more

My chicken wrap tasted strange to me so I checked at the counter to see if they had accidentally given me someone else's order. Evidently there was just some particular spice that wasn't sitting well on my palate. They we super eager to make it right. I was willing to finish my sandwich, which I did, but they seemed genuinely disappointed that I wouldn't allow them to make me something else.
