Great atmosphere, great food, great people. Very spacious but maybe 20-40 tables available. If you are looking for a taste of Turkey with the experience, this is the spot. Our host was super kind, helpful with the menu and had a sense of humor. Grape leaves - I believe it was cold if I remember, and it's a softer/mushy texture. The host called it "Turkish Sushi." It was good and different! Appetizers- phenomenal. Fresh, hot, flavorful. We had cheese served on a hot stone, it was beautiful. Nothing was over or under seasoned. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nice fry, nice bake, nice sizzles. Salmon was cooked just right. Calamari was fried great and had a good crunch. Feta borek reminded me of crab cheese ragoons. I love the way it's prepared though, even bites and good flaky crunch. The shell is light and wasn't greasy. Baklava was delicious. Rice pudding was delicious. We landed at Ford international headed for facilities in Ada and Grand Rapids. Our assistant figured out that if we stopped in Ada, first, we could enjoy the Zeytin Turkish restaurant. Zeytin serves authentic Turkish cuisine along with other middle eastern and American food. A table favourite was the Pepper Delight. Basically, chopped red and green peppers combined with walnuts and tomato. I highly recommend both the Rice pudding and the Fried calamari. Nice big plate I had almost all to myself. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. My friend, Darius, ordered the Chicken shish kebab and the pita was dry, cold and stale. They immediately returned with fresh, hot, moist bread. The wait for the initial order and drink refills was a bit longer. The dining area is large, yet cozy. The eatery has a very embracing, warm ambiance and it's a great gluten-free zone. Ordered the appetizer sampler with a few different spreads which was very tasty, went very nicely with the pita bread and brought out some fresh and herbaceous flavors. The Zeytin special was very tasty, with various different meats packed with flavor and seasoned quite well. It felt like the dish needed a bit more and could've used some more flavor profile aside from the char on the meat. Overall, the service was very good and the food was quite enjoyable. read more

Business dinner so no photos but the restaurant is so good you best just head over there and try the food for yourself. We got hummus and fried Kibbe as appetizers. The hummus was delightfully, smooth and creamy, and the Kibbe was phenomenal excellent seasonings, and a great crunch on the outside. My only disappointment with the appetizers was the fact that they served store-bought pita bread that was placed on the table and sealed plastic bags. If they had an oven to make fresh pita this place would get a five star review. I had Iskander as my entrée so much to like about this dish. The portion size was significant to the point where I couldn't finish it. And the balance of tomato and garlic sauce was a wonderful compliment to the euro meat. The fact that everything came on croutons, which were the perfect level of crunchy at slightly soft made for a heavenly taste experience and every bite. I could take a bath in the tziki sauce! My friend loves this place and definitely talked up the food, especially their butter rice. And let me tell you, zeytin did not disappoint. I got the Gyro and the portion was generous. For the price I was very satisfied. The meat was tender and tasty and with the rice and tziki, *chefs kiss.* the side salad wasn't anything special but did add a nice crunch to the dish. Service was friendly and the ambiance was absolutely adorable. I love the space they created, with unique bar seating and creative booths the design of the pace was both cohesive and eclectic. 3.5 stars. We went out to dinner with our friend and it was our first time eating at Zeytin. We went at 5:30 on a Sunday and it was still pretty busy- likely due to their great happy hour specials. Service is pretty slow due to lack of help (a long time to get water, orders, the bill) and there are signs posted everywhere stating they're hiring/in need of help. The appetizer sampler was tasty but the pita that accompanied the meal, while plentiful, was pretty stale. It's also the thin type of pita in case you aren't expecting that! We did try a few entrees which were the highlight (although in the $18-$20 end) - tender/moist chicken and flavorful kofta. The accompanying cabbage salad was interesting but still tasty. The falafel appetizer was not what I was expecting - different shape, different texture- kind of small for the price and the accompanying veggies weren't really needed. I think overall we've been a bit spoiled by all of the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food we were surrounded by in SE Michigan before moving to GR and perhaps had too high of expectations, but we would come back, particularly for the happy hour deals! read more

I hosted a family event with over 30 people recently at Zeytin Turkish Restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. All the guests loved the food and enjoyed the restaurant tremendously. My only complaint is that they did not remove the dishes after the main course. The dessert and tea were served with the dirty dishes still on the table. I was aware there were two other large parties in the restaurant at the same time, and I am sure their staff was having difficulty keeping up, but the dessert and tea service at the end would have been much more pleasant without the dirty dishes on the tables. All the same, the staff at the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They accommodated three vegetarian guests with no hassle. Overall an excellent dining experience. read more

Service was great and the place is very clean. It's in a great spot where you can eat outside and enjoy downtown Ada then grab some ice cream right after. The waitress we had was fast and attentive. The bud boys stood around texting on their phones it was odd to see them texting while picking up plates or putting out utensils. The food is another story. Everything seemed to be over cooked or cooked much earlier then sat under a heater to keep warm. It was all so dry. This was the gyro and chicken meat. The Spanish was microwaved and not made to order which made it soggy and super bland. Great Turkish food and one of the only Turkish food places around making it an absolute gem. Service is quick and professional as well as polite. The environment of the restaurant itself could use a bit of an update, such as the booth seats are a little uncomfortable and old; If they update the interior and design of the dining area there's a chance to drive more traffic. Same with the menus, they should update the menu to be more simple and display new photos of the dishes available so the customer will be less confused. Just a few ideas whether taken into consideration doesn't change the fact that this restaurant is unique and has great potential. read more

A beautiful afternoon, outdoor couches, Mediterranean food and happy hour; color me happy. A nice young man seated us in one of many comfy couches, we received menus and water promptly. Our waiter took our drink order and later food order by memory, and out came some lovely fresh food. The Turkish music piped in is extra nice, reminding me of being in exotic lands. My friends and I placed a reservation about an hour in advance. We showed up on time and were seated indoors in a back room where someone else was having a large birthday dinner (20+ people). The six of us scanned the QR code for the menu and looked over it as a waitress gave us water and pita bread. We weren't asked if we wanted anything other than water. This was the last we saw of any waiter for the next 25 minutes. Eventually, after contemplating if we should leave, we finally got the attention of the host who seated us. I told him how long we had been waiting just to place our order. He ran off to get a waiter which took another several minutes. This waiter turned out to be very friendly and conversational. At this point, though, we were very peckish and irritated at how long we would continue to wait depending on what we ordered. Additionally, the prices were quite high for all of the entrees ($17+) and I wasn't sure how much money I really wanted to give this establishment. So instead of ordering the falafel entree, I ordered the falafel appetizer. The only difference between the appetizer and the entree is that the entree would have had 2 more falafel and some rice. The price difference was almost double just for that. In the end, the food was good for the most part but undoubtedly overpriced. The service was bad at first but our waiter turned out to be nice. I came here once many years ago when the restaurant was small and not as popular and had a much better experience then. read more

I went and the atmosphere is real nice and calm. The decorations are lovely. I ordered the Lamb Hummus and it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend it. I also had the Turkish tea which was nice. The bread pudding was also very good! The service was good. They checked back on us every once in a while to make sure we had drinks or wanted to order anything else. This place has the best Mediterranean food around. My wife and I got the appetizer sampler for two and it was fantastic. More than just hummus and baba (although they were both excellent), it also included a bell pepper relish and and eggplant salsa, the latter of which was off the hook. Eggplant for me is hit or miss, and this was definitely a hit. We also had the kibbeh, which is so good it hurts. Before our main came, we had a bowl of their lentil soup. Ummmm...Wow!!! I would drive across town in snow and traffic just for a cup of this stuff. Best. Thing. Ever! We actually split a main, because that's how me and my wife roll. It was the Lamb Mediterranean and once again, it was a home run. Sooooo goood! The service was great, the people nice, and the atmosphere welcoming. One of my favorite restaurants in GR. Love the energy in this place and they had 10/10 service every staff member we encountered was so pleasant. The appetizer platter with babaganoush, tabbouleh, eggplant, & some other things along w their pita bread tasted so yummy and fresh. The spinach chicken was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is kinda of a plain space that with a lot of liitle touches was turned into a welcoming space with a Turkish twist. It is very well done space. I ordered the Signaki and then the Beef Shish Kabobs. The  Signaki is an imported Kaseri Cheese (from Sheep Milk) and in the American style is set aflame with Brandy! It was a 1st for me and it was fantastic. A show and a tasty cheese. The Beef Shish Kabobs were excellent. The beef was perfectly cooked with subtle spices. It came with Turkish Coleslaw which had Unique spices I couldn't place that had the tiniest dash of heat. It also came with rice which was pretty bland, but well cooked. The dish also came with a white sauce that I have no clue what it was, but it was truly delicious! It enhanced the beef to the nth degree! The person I was with got the Lamb Shish Kabobs and stated they were excellent and also loved the White sauce. The White sauce is either Shawarma or Halal. For Free they brought the table some Pita bread with sometype of oil that was very ehhhh. The Service was excellent with both the server and Chef stopping by to make sure everything was good! We ordered eggplant salsa & falafel entree. The falafel tasted good, but every thing else was very bland. The sliced tomato and lettuce garnish is an interesting choice, as well. The atmosphere is different than anywhere I have been before. The booths with the cushions are super cute and feel authentic to the Turkish restaurant. However, the sports memorabilia on the walls does not contribute to the vibe. They have a nice happy hour menu that includes: house wines, dips, falafel, and high balls. The hummus and baba ghanoush we were told had dairy in it by the server. The lentil soup also is made with beef stock. We left with much to be desired and probably will not visit again. We finally checked out the new location after Ada finished construction. The restaurant atmosphere is great inside and out. The outdoor patio is great for warm weather and the inside has their original style raised booths or traditional large tables. The service was very slow but it seemed they were understaffed. Most of the family was eating with the owner at a booth and one or two servers were running around trying to keep up with the customers. There were multiple times we sat and waited for boxes or the check while he clearly forgot. The oil/butter tray with slim pita is brought to start. We were starving and ate it all as well as the sampler appetizer but the pita is pretty bland. The sampler is huge and we couldn't even finish it with 5 people. I ordered the Lamb Mediterranean and it was very tasty. My wife had the chicken kabob and really enjoyed it. All of the portions were large and we all brought boxes home. The other dishes ordered in our group were the spinach chicken and lamb gyro. Every dish was enjoyed but the lamb Gyro was said to be a tad dry. Everything looked fantastic though. read more

Exceptional service and delectable food. Many times we just stop by and enjoy their Happy Hour with our favorite bartender around, Nusha! She always sweet and prompt and makes great cocktails with care! We especially enjoy their appetizer for two that features an assortment of delish dips (hummus, babaganoush, eggplant salsa, pepper salsa, tabbouli) served with pita bread for dipping. In the past, we have been underwhelmed, feeling there was not enough flavor in many of the dishes. However, this weekend we did a delivery order and everything was good with better flavor than in the past. This included gyros, the Zeytin platter, and chicken kebobs. We had extremely high hopes for this restaurant and left REALLY disappointed. They start out by bringing you complimentary pita and oil & butter tray. We didn't like the pita - it was like a thin, dried-out tortilla, cut up. We ordered the Feta Borek (deep fried feta rolled inside of phyllo dough) and that was pretty good, although the ends were burnt to a crisp. For dinner, we shared the Zeytin Special because it seemed like a huge portion. It was a mixed grilled combination of Chicken Shish Kebab, Gyro, Beef Shish Kebab, Kofte, and Adana Kebab and also came with more dry pita. The only thing that was appetizing on the whole plate was the 2 pieces of beef. We also had some very overpriced, not very good Mules. As far as the service we got, it was okay.
