I called Chicago Printer Repair and set and appointment. I wanted to clarify what was included and possible software issues. They responded and waited on my appointment to make sure I was clear and what was included and other possible problems they can't address (software.) I asked to be scheduled and if I could speak with the tech in the morning. At 9:00am promptly, Eric called me for more details. After explaining the details, he advised that this was VERY likely to be a firmware issue and to contact HO directly. I may end up having to get a new printer but I didn't unnecessarily spend $150 for a service that would t fix my issues. Thanks to Eric for his honesty. Would recommend to others. A+ read more

NEVER SHOWED UP!! Called the office after my 2 hour window, they said he'd be here in 45 minutes. 2 HOURS later, I called again and they said, "Oh, I don't know. I paged him and he didn't respond. Maybe he forgot his charger" They then offered to reschedule me, but why would I? No way I'm waiting around for 4+ hours on another day for this place. read more

First of all, I did not get the service. Their website and google info said they will open till 5 PM. When I arrived at 3 PM no one was there! I called several times no one picked up the phone. I waited 15 mins and that's it. If you are not gonna respect your work hour then stop promoting your business with fake reviews online and wasting everyone's time. Bye, my lovely printer. read more

Once my review posted I got a call back. I was told that the reason Eric didn't show up was that the toner was still on back order for days or weeks longer. A simple phone call would've avoided a lot of unnecessary frustrations. Moving on - I got my own genuine HP toner overnighted to me and Eric showed up promptly the same day. Apparently it's not the toner and now we need an other part. Will update, hopefully with 5 stars. read more

I wish I had found Aldo and Chicago Printer Repair sooner than last week. I am a photographer and rely on my professional Epson Inkjet printers to create my beautiful prints. Epson is almost impossible to deal with directly and I was in a panic when my Epson Pro 4880 stopped working. There are only a couple of repair companies in the Chicago area and none seemed very eager to tackle my printer's repair, except for CPR. They were prompt, knowledgable, courteous and affordable... not exactly the current service industry's business model. They are terrific and deserve more than 5 stars. read more

Aldo from Chicago Printer Repair was fantastic. He was able to quickly diagnose my problems and fix them like MacGyver. My wide format printer, an HP Designjet 500ps, is so old they don't sell the printhead carriage cushion on its own any more. Aldo was able to fashion a cushion out of some plastic he had with him and now my printer works again! How many other technicians would be able to do that? I also really appreciated how professional the entire staff was. He and another technician had been to my apartment on a few house calls when I was alone, yet they didn't come off as sleezy or anything other than focused on their work. Add that to very reasonable pricing and they get five stars all around. Like the other reviewer said, I'd give them more if more were available. read more

We bought a refurbished copier from Chicago Printer Repair for our small non-profit located in Albany Park, Chicago. The purchase price was reasonable and the delivery was quick and painless (even though we are on the 2nd floor). More than anything, their service technician Eric was absolutely incredible. He was super helpful in the setup and has returned a couple of times to repair and make sure everything was functioning properly. Although there was some initial miscommunication about what the networking functions of the printer we purchased was, in the end Chicago Printer Repair and we came to an amenable solution. It's also important to note that their sales people and technicians speak Spanish as well. This was important considering that most of our staff speaks Spanish (and English). read more

They were very quick to set up an appointment and worked with me to set an account up with my company so we can get invoiced (our accounting department is out of state). UPDATE 9/26/2017: Stand firmly on what I said when I said that it was I who rejected this business based on the terrible service I received on the phone when I initially called. It was I who rejected this business when they wanted to overcharge me as a first time customer & miscalculate the distance of where I live. There are no "hundreds" of good reviews as he states, there is a much smaller amount than that + there is already another person that wrote a Yelp review on this company who stepped up to expose the dishonesty of this business & state a similar experience I also experienced. This incident happened a year ago: he responded a year later, enough said. My purpose of writing this review is simple: to expose the dishonesty of this owner, Aldo, his business & the lack of proper etiquettes received on the phone from his staff member who answered the phone. For Aldo to continue to lie that I used foul language & that he rejected me is just a desperate attempt to defer my review, as his desperation is beginning to shown. But bottom line, it is truly appalling that a human cannot admit their simple mistake of taking care of a potential customer. Own up. AGAIN, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. Truths always comes out eventually, it just takes time for other people to step up & expose bad businesses, like this company,as well as bad owners. The review stays & will never be taken down as he digs his own hole deeper by continuing to be a liar & a dishonest business owner. Furthermore, Aldo has NO PROOF & cannot give proof, which is why he continues to use the usual bullying tactic of lying about a potential customer. They did not refuse my service, I made the decision to refuse to do business with them based on the terrible customer service received over the phone, as well as their hefty upfront fee. Regardless of the store's own policy to charge a hefty fee upfront, I am not one to hand out money to a business I have not worked with yet, nor care to, if the business uses rude & ignorant approaches on the phone. I choose my business based on main factors of a business representing them professionally on the phone when I first call, & then, their approach with fees: this business did not earn my trust to work with them, which is why they were rejected & I hired another. Furthermore, to lie & falsely accuse me of adding that I used foul language is appalling: I attest that I did not use foul language with a business I never did business with, in the first place. UPDATE: AFTER SUBMITTING THIS REVIEW, THIS COMPANY DID THE RIGHT THING, AND STEPPED UP TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THEY SENT ME A CHECK FOR $240 (A DOUBLE REFUND). SO PROPS TO YELP, AND I GIVE CREDIT TO CHICAGO PRINTER REPAIR/CHICAGO COPIER SERVICES FOR ADDRESSING MY ISSUE GENEROUSLY. This company also goes by the name of Chicago Copier Services. This was terrible service. First, they gave me a 6 hour window when they would show up (even Comcast does better than that). Second, I had two printers next to each other, with a note on each stating what was wrong. The note on one showed the sample line from the self-feeder roller (which roller just needed to be cleaned), and the other note showed colored lines running down the copy. I was not here when the serviceman showed up. He elected to look at the second printer, and determined he could not fix it without ordering a new part for $227. So he left. He never cleaned the self-feed roller on the first printer. Third, when I called to complain, I was told that I paid the $120 flat fee, but that was to service only one printer. They would have charged me $240 to service both printers. In other words, they would charge me as if I called them for two separate service calls, just to clean a roller on the second printer when they were already here. Fourth, when I complained that neither printer was serviced, the General Manager asked me how I knew that. I said I could tell because each printer had the same problem as it did before the serviceman came. He asked if I would be satisfied if he returned my $120. I said yes. I asked him when he would send me my money. He said he had to investigate my claim first and hear "the other side of the story." I then asked why he offered to return my $120. He said he never offered that; he just wanted to know if that would satisfy me. Was he taking a survey? I would never use this company again. read more

Chicago Printer Repair did a great job at short notice to give me an estimate to repair my Epson XP-810 Printer. With the estimate, I'm able to obtain warranty work to repair my printer through my credit card company. They provide timely and professional service. read more

Fast and friendly service. The office is a little messy, but the service was fast and cost effective.

Hired them to fix a HP 4200n printer. We had a 60.2 paper tray 2 lifting error. They came by for an hour and when i asked the repair guy the issue he said he did not know. I told him to have someone call me with a quote to fix or for a 4200n refurbished unit or 4200n new unit. The sales guy calls me back and tells me they do not even carry hp printers? Then only wants to upsell me into a $6000 color image printer i have absolutely no need for. He would not listen to me the customer....he was much more interested in selling me what he wanted ...not at all what i needed. read more
