Came here for dinner with my husband. We had three course dinner (38 € dinner prefixes). I was excited to have our NYE dinner at Chez Michel. We got there few minutes before our reservation. There were a lot of tables open, but we got seated at the corner of the restaurant where it was darker and colder. For drinks we got beer and tap water. For starters, my husband and I each ordered chanterelle fricasses and country pate. For entree, we got flank steak and some beef/pork broth (I forgot the name and I also forgot to take pictures of our main entrees). For dessert, we ordered Paris Brest and Panna cotta. The starter and entree were mediocre at best. It didn't taste like what I expected, and I did not quite finish my meal. I could not finish half of my starter. However, the desserts were amazing. Both of them were fantastic and affirmed me that France is indeed the best country to get good pastry. I am giving 3 stars total despite our underwhelming experience with seating and food because the service was nice and desserts were amazing. The price came out to be around 100 € total, and I don't think the whole experience/food was worth it. Hopefully we will have better experience if we visit here again.

Me and my wife popped in here at the last minute on a day In September. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and accommodating to any request. The hostess was a younger girl who met us with a bright smile. We were seated in the basement next to the wine cellar. I highly suggest this area as there's less traffic and it has a "cave" feeling which adds a ton of ambiance and romance. The menu is sort of prefix except you get to pick one appetizer, one main and one dessert from a short list within each category. Me opted to each choose something different so we could sample a larger portion of the entire menu. Everything we ate was a 10* and we highly suggest this restaurant for traditional French romantic bistro

    - They speak English + have an English menu - Great service, very friendly - You can make a reservation through Google if your French is terrible like mine and don't want to call them - The 3-course meal will make you VERY full - Interesting choice of Comic Sans as a font for their menu.... Came here for dinner while staying in Gare du Nord. I enjoyed everything I had here (minus the escargot they give you as an appetizer, just not an escargot fan). I got the 3-course prefix meal and I was about to burst at the end of the meal and actually couldn't finish my dessert. While I had no complaints about the taste of the food, I think it's better to order a la carte because the 3-course meal might be too much and it's around 39/39 Euros per person, which isn't exactly cheap. Very friendly staff and they have an English menu (although they used Comic Sans as the font, which was...interesting). I loved the bouillabaisse + the bone marrow!

Super cute restaurant with friendly staff. They gave us English menus 'cause they could just tell we weren't from there even though we knew French. We were presented with this 3 course menu which is way too many courses for me, I'm good with just a main dish but we went with it. Ordered the fish soup (salty) as an app, this steak (delicious), and I got the panna cotta for dessert while my sister ordered this choux pastry (she didn't like it). Accidentally ordered sparkling water which was €6 or something. Regrets. This was the most pricey meal we had in Paris but we enjoyed it

Great food. English speaking friendly. The foie gras I had was amazing. It was served with a medley of wild mushrooms in a broth I could not dipping my bread into its earthy delight. The server surprised me when he brought the live lobster to my table first (I know it said live but I was hoping they were still going to cook it! Wasn't sure if this was a French thing). And the lobster...what can I say. Served in the tail shell with claw meat with fresh peas, zucchini, beets and beans. Just summer and sea freshness in a bowl!

This is the best French restaurant in my trip of Paris. The picture tells everything.

Stumbled upon this cute restaurant after arriving around the corner at Gare du Nord. The staff smiled and welcomed me in, storing my luggage out the way for me. Their recommendations were fantastic, each bite was divine. I had the foie gras with beetroot purée and mixed fruit (and a chilli to add complexity!), my main was a dish recommended from Brittany of tenderised meat and dessert that I can only describe as angelic! Atmosphere was warm and friendly perfect any occasion, including a meal for one :)

Had a great dinner at Chez Michel. Highly recommend. The lengua and the fish soup were both excellent.

The food was expensive and they decided to not take credit cards. It ended up being an awful experience.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
