Arroz con ganduleo plátanos amarillo y pollo guisado.

Finally, a Hispanic restaurant in the area! The food was flavorful and portions were generous. My husband had white rice, beans, and bistec, and I enjoyed yellow rice with stewed chicken. Everything was tasty, though I prefer dark meat on the bone for pollo guisado. Only thing missing for me was a good alcapurria or relleno de papa to round out the menu. Overall, a great spot and we'll definitely be back!

Coffee wasn't my personal taste but not bad. They had a coquito and tres leches flavored coffee! I thought that was very unique. I had their pernil sandwich and it was really good but pricey. $15. The empanadas/pastellitos were worth the price and flavor was great. I had a quesaito I think it's called for the first time, guava flavor. Honestly it was alot, I wish it was smaller but not bad at all.

Walking into Chevere Cafe was like walking into a piece of Puerto Rico. The decoration and ambience embodies the culture. Even down to the little details of books about the culture in their seating area. The staff were extremely warm and polite. The food was delicious. I got a few different dishes. Pernil Lunch Platter: Arroz con gandules (yellow rice), pernil(pork), and maduros(sweet plantains). The pernil was not overly greasy or fatty. The rice super flavorful. The plantains ripe and cooked to perfection. Papas Locas: Fries with lettuce, tomato, cheese, pernil, and sauce. The portion is huge and the flavors all go well together. Sancocho: Not my preference so I only had a bite but it seemed good. Tres Leches: The cake was very dense and a bit less milky than I'm use to with tres leches cakes but it was enjoyable. Quesitos: Super airy and served warm. I've never had a quesito so delicious. Would definitely purchase again.

First off LOVE the domino's setup inside the restaurant. Great cultural references to Puerto Rican and Dominican Culture. Menu is pretty extensive with tons of traditional dishes such as mofongo, tostones, pernil, rice and beans, pollo guisada, carne guisada, etc. We did the Lancaster Restaurant Meal Deal. 3 course for $29 dollars. Now don't get me wrong food was EXCELLENT. But 29 dollars was a little steep compared to other Puerto Rican and Dominican Cuisine restaurants in the Lancaster, York, Lebanon Areas! We got Tostones (garlic sauce was AMAZING!) typically tostones are served with mayoketchup (they have their own version of mayoketchup which was good as well!). The second course was their Pernil, Yellow Rice and side of beans. Also a fantastic dish. The Pernil was not fatty at all and had a great marinated flavor! The smoothie was the 3rd course. Morir Soñando. Think of an Orange juice smoothie/milkshake. Not orange creamsicle. I could drink one of these everyday! Very good would like to go back for the mofongo!

I love coming to this restaurant. But this time traveling to Lancaster, I was sad to find out that…read morethey relocated to another spot not too far away from the old location. LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

The food was flavorful. I got the goat, and morcilla (blood sausage) and my partner got the beef, platanos, and yuca. His beef was fall-off-the-bone tender, platinum, and yuca was great. My goat was a bit chewy, and morcilla a bit dry, but still very tasty. I'd definitely come back to try their other à la carte dishes. There are so many choices even if I went back every day for lunch for a week, I still would not be able to sample all that they offer. I couldn't take a pic of my partner's plate as it was so good he inhaled all of it, I barely got any, and that's how you know his plate was amazing!! Service was awesome as well, the lady was so nice and helpful.
