Just stopped in to look for a holster and Josh was very helpful with answering questions my children had with the knives and was very patient with me while I made a choice on a new firearm. read more

I have been a longtime, loyal customer to this establishment. I recently purchased a firearm from them and was met with utter silence and scowls. The staff and ownership are rude and ignored me like I wasn't even in the store. Not even a simple acknowledgement or can I help you. Also they are selling the same inventory used/new for the same price on certain firearms. Thats a real bait and switch to a novice buyer! Price gouging has been apparent for a while here. They will lowball you on any trades or firearms you sell! This was my last call and won't ever help support this establishment again! Good luck surviving with the new laws coming in place July 1st. With the work ethic and customer service your displaying it'll be no time before you close your doors. I'd give you less than 1 star if I could. read more

Josh provided awesome service. I purchased a handgun and a shotgun and with my trade in, the value was acceptable. Josh answered all my questions and made the purchasing experience very smooth. Definitely recommend and will look to purchase firearms from here again. read more

I have picked up (for a reasonable fee) a rifle shipped in from out of state here. I also sold a pack rifle I knew I'd never use and got a fair price and availed myself of the services of their very knowledgeable gunsmith. The store is neat & well organized, has a fairly wide selection, and has personnel who are both very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended. read more

I've never had a pleasant experience here. I've tried to support this store on 3 separate occasions. I was never greeted when entering this store and when i finally got someone's attention there was some sort of undertone I was met with while talking over the counter. They have a lot of guns but lack variety when it comes to the sidearms. I wouldn't recommend buying here unless you like rude customer service. read more

Clare and Megan are professional and detail oriented individuals. Always making customer service a top priority

Staff is very rude, I came in to purchase a firearm I had seen online i came in a hour before close and almost every firearm was being put away. When i asked to see a gun they had already put away i was told I couldn't. read more

Friendly staff, great prices and I love the promotions they have weekly. All around a great place to purchase your new firearm. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

The staff was helpful. The price was reasonable. The store was clean. No to my biased opinion. I'm from kansas, and we have a lot of gun stores out there and this may be the best one I've ever been to out here. Customer for life read more

As a female looking to purchase a firearm for the first time and having little to no knowledge of guns I would not recommend this place. The girl that "helped" me gave me the attitude of I don't have time for you. The speed in which she demonstrated how to load lock etc was so fast I felt like she was joking. I asked her to recommend a shooting range she just said something so fast I didn't even understand and I wasn't going to ask her to repeat herself. Waste of time. read more

Awesome staff!!Called to get info about what I was interested in before I arrived. Very helpful and when I got there it made my purchase that much smoother. Huge thank you to Lynda helped me with my purchase. Thank you again to everyone for your Service, appreciate it read more

These 1 star reviews are ridiculous! I've bought 4 guns from them and I keep going back. The staff is extremely friendly and are super knowledgeable about guns and if there is something they don't know, Mr. Gunsmith that works there sure as heck will know. Also, their prices beat the hell out of Superior by far. Highly recommend! -Petty P.s. Be skeptical of these stooges below who didn't post any pictures or name who the mysterious rude offenders are. I've had nothing but great customer service since day 1 and I'm thinking they're paid reviewers from Superior lol read more

Chesapeake Pawn And Gun - Beautiful Mossberg 500 I bought here, slapped a strap on(which I also bought here), then rode home with it on my back on my motorcycle. - Jewelry Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

This place os great. Plenty of help for a first time buyer in the area. No pressure, no BS, great personality and great customer service.

Great gun store. Bought my first AR15 here several years ago. The staff is always friendly when I go in the store. Their t-shirts are awesome too! read more

I have been going to this store for roughly 10 years. I really like going there and seeing what they have. They do change staff quite a bit but people are still pretty friendly. I have used them for getting new, used and shipping things in. They also come through with getting things that are not easily found. I got my son a Savage Mark 2 for him to learn to shoot with his own 22 for a jr program, It was hard to find until they could help. read more

I came in as a first time gun owner looking for advice and everyone was pretty understanding and patient. But out of the few workers I talked to there was one that made me feel uncomfortable. Enya, I believe is her name? She wasn't attentive to the customers as much as the other workers were. And was honestly quite rude at times, as if she didn't have time to deal with us customers. read more

I am very disappointed with Chesapeake pawn and gun I feel like they don't have their customers interested at heart as long as they make a sell that's all they care about I brought a gun from them only had it a few months and it broke and as a company they should stand behind the things they sell but they don't so I will never buy anything else from them but like I said just my opinion so if you want to put your trust in a business like Chesapeake pawn and gun good luck read more

Absolutely, positively, without question, the best pawn and gun store in Hampton Roads. I've been going here for several years now and this place has never let me down. I get great deal after deal after deal after deals. Amongst the chain of stores Jeff owns, this one is the best in my book. The staff is awesome and down to earth. No preppy or no sense foolishness here. I forgot to mention that they also have the best in-house gun smith in the world. Kurt knows guns. And cheapppppppppp..... You can't get deals anywhere like you can with him. A+++ read more

Just recently had my first purchase through Chesapeake Pawn and Gun due to a killer sale they were having that I couldn't pass up. The ladies behind the counter were very helpful with the process, explained the sale that was occurring and the add-ons that were included. Quick and painless process that will have me watching for more sales in the future. read more

Great selection of firearms, knowledgeable and courteous staff made my purchase hassle free.

I have no idea why there's a negative review on this place. I was in the market for a glock 26 and since I follow them on Facebook I figured I'd give them a try. The staff was polite and helpful. This store has a welcoming environment and affordable prices on used and new firearms. The ONLY negative I could find about them is that they don't offer military discounts on new guns, only used. But it's all good. The fact that they offer military discounts at all makes them good in my book. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the market for a new or used firearm. read more

Great people to do business with. I use them as my local FFL. There Gunsmith Kurt is top notch guy.

Can't say enough good things about Chesapeake Pawn and Gun !! I was in the market for a new Conceal Carry Handgun and Cheyanne was extremely helpful. They had a great selection of new and used firearms and when the handgun that I really wanted, the Springfield XD .40 subcompact was not in stock it was very easily ordered from their online store. Ordered on Friday and by Monday it had arrived. Came and did all the paperwork with Cheyanne who again was very nice and personable, very easy to talk to and knowledgeable on firearms and she also recommended a nearby gun range that im going to check out this weekend. The employees were all very friendly and i noticed were quick to assist other customers who had questions. I will definitely be back to purchase a full size handgun and rifle in the near future. Thanks Cheyanne for the pleasurable experience read more

Lucky to get 1 star! Sales people are very rude and do not care about their customers at all! Oh they close at 6 but you better arrive a hour before so you can see everything because they have to pack up before closing not after. Lost a large sale, too bad! read more

Prices are too high and the products are mostly pawns, They can't even warranty any of them.

Buyer Beware! If you are not very familiar with firearms you might not want to buy one here. My husband, who only knows the basics, but knew what he wanted, purchased a firearm for me for a Christmas gift. He explained to the salesperson that he wanted a smaller one for concealed carry and definitely with a safety because we have grandchildren around. He also wanted a laser because he thought it would be cool. He had researched the LC9s and that's what he wanted. What she sold him was an LC9s Pro. Which has a laser but NO safety. When I opened it on Christmas he was really upset there was no safety. He thought they were the same gun with the addition of the laser. We kept it in the box and called to explain that we really needed the safety and could we exchange it for the basic LC9s and purchase a laser to add on. They said sure and they'd give us half of what we paid for it. We were told that their policy (which she never explained) was that once you leave the building, it's used. So my advice is check and double check before you leave the building. And don't rely on what the salesperson tells you. I would not recommend buying here. read more

Never will I go to this store again. I stood in line for their "Black Friday special" and once I got to the front of the line I was told in a rude manner I couldn't purchase the firearm they had on sale because they said "state police and ATF won't allow them to use a current vehicle registration to show proof of residence if the address on my ID wasn't correct". They were wrong because a vehicle registration is a government issued document and can be used. I'm not sure where they got that information from but they are wrong and shouldn't be in the sale of firearms if the employees don't know the right rules and laws. read more
