My husband went ring shopping here after not finding what I wanted in a ring in the mall stores. I wanted several elements in an engagement ring and no one could make it happen... but diamonds direct did. They combined my favorite elements of 4-6 different rings I sent him and made one absolutely beautiful unique to me ring. I have gone in for cleanings and the service is great! They have a wonderful warranty. We custom designed a wedding band to go with it, adding several diamonds on the side and matching the engagement rings side stones. I am in love with my set. I get compliments on the engagement ring weekly from strangers! Great quality diamonds are not out of reach here. I thought they would be more expensive than somewhere like Kay's but my set was significantly cheaper, natural diamonds not just lab AND higher quality cuts/color than what Kay offered. I am so glad they took care of us here My husband worked with Kim on designing the engagement ring and we went back to her for the band read more

So many different styles!!! -needed to find a match for my engagement ring and had been to other places with no success. -Doors have a one door open at a time security but dont worry the staff will greet you as soon as you open the first door and tell you how to enter. -someone is available right away for me without any prior appointment and I didn't feel in a rush. Rep listened to my expectations and was able to help me find my match! -there is a waiting space inside in case your desired rep is currently occupied with someone else. -big and very clean location. -private parking in front of their main door and is easy to miss. Plaza parking directly behind in case you missed the main entrance. -pricing met my expectations. They do offer a range of prices but that will be directly related to the style and material that you desire. If you have a pricing in mind start with that. read more

Ask for Evelynn. She was a joy! Very friendly and helpful with explaining what things meant.

Great experience at Diamonds Direct and first time customer. Virginia Beach is store number #9 out of now 28 and they have three in VA. The store has strong security with a VBPD officer on the premises during their hours. Also the door is locked to the showroom with a greeter that buzzes you in. Cameras are every were, My experience with saleswoman Stephanie was strong. No hard sale whatsoever and she new her inventory and offered options. This visit was for my daughters birthday. I specifically wanted Diamond stud earrings for her 18th birthday. Stephanie let me know of their huge Spring sale in days with 20% off. She agreed to provide the price. After looking at different sizes and clarify aka quality I settled on a quarter carat that has a full warranty and repair if issues with the post. I found the pricing to be better than other shops. They also offer upgrades on sizing if you wish to later return to get a larger Diamond. Also what I thought was was stellar, a full 30 day money back if not satisfied. My package was beautifully wrapped and placed in a gift bag with jewelry cleaner. The receipt was placed in an envelope for insurance purposes and safe storage. On the way out I was introduced to the manager who yanked me for my business. I cannot recommend Diamonds Direct enough and have a plan to return for another occasion this year. Also keep in mind they will introduce watches to their floor this year. read more

First off, Michelle was awesome. Went to diamond direct to create an engagement ring for my wife and she did the most perfect job bringing my ideas to reality. If anyone reading this is looking for a person to help you create your special moment with ease, seek Michelle. She was very friendly and very professional. Went to all the major jewelry stores and diamonds direct was the best in terms of QUALITY and PRICE! Would highly recommend to check them out. And also highly recommend to ask for Michelle. After my fiancé proposed with a wedding band we started the process of picking out my engagement ring together. Four stores and 12 visits later we finally and HAPPILY decided on our loose diamond and Tacori setting. It's without a doubt MY ring! Rebecca (Becca) and Jodi assisted us throughout the entire process! I am quite emotional and indecisive... and it didn't phase them one bit. They let me go through my decision making process of trying on EVERYTHING. We literally spent hours there each visit and I am so thankful for their knowledge and guidance through the search and making our decision. Ultimately I narrowed it down to three beautiful settings and my fiancé picked this stunner! We are Diamonds Direct fans for life! read more

I will never return to this store and I will think twice about visiting any other Diamonds Direct location in the future. I urge anyone to go to a reputable and local jeweler rather than this location. Over and over again through the past 4 years since originally purchasing my rings, they've continue to make mistakes and hardly take responsibility. I spoke with the store manager today and he did not take care to investigate my current issue, ask about the poor experiences I've had in the store or with his employees, nor previous missteps made by his staff. Even though I explained these in an email, he made no attempt to follow up on their poor service, but rather told me I would be provided with the documents I'd requested and explained that their own records and GIA numbers are incorrect, which I'd already pointed out to them. He barely took time to prepare before he called me, even telling me my ring was custom made when it is in fact not. They have given me the wrong appraisal information twice, handed me my ring back after cleaning with stones missing multiple times, and have even gone so far as to tell me the issues I've had with my ring are just the nature of the setting. However, upon sending it to the designer directly, THEY admitted it did not pass their own quality inspection and remade the setting, apologizing profusely. Instead of apologizing, Diamonds Direct made my husband feel as if he'd chosen poorly, rather than recognizing the ring was defective. I suppose it's the definition of insanity to keep going back expecting better results, so I will not be returning. read more

Out of the several diamond stores that me and my wife have visited over the past couple of years, Diamonds Direct is definitely the "best" place to browse and purchase your engagement ring and wedding bands. Service: We have interacted with about three of the diamond experts here at this location and while those two provided service below our expectations Kim Kellam has been a breath of fresh air!! We have completed three different transactions with Kim. On each occasion that we have met with her, she has been extremely professional, kind and most importantly very knowledgeable about the diamonds that she sells. Of course at the end of the day, her job is to make a sale so you will get some "push" to purchase an item but it was never to the point that we felt forced to get something. She really wanted us to make a purchase that we were completely happy about it and I appreciated that very much. Value: let's face it, diamonds are expensive! Especially when you want the color and clarity at a very high standard. But, I think that for the quality of what you're getting (in the item and in the service), the price is very competitive and you get what you pay for. Kim was definitely conscious of our budget and worked with us to find a great value and price point that we were looking for. Selection: They have a great selection of engagement rings and wedding bands for both males and females here. We were able to find several options for both the ring, and both of our wedding bands. I have purchased both the engagement ring and the wedding band from her and my wife recently purchased my wedding band from Kim as well. It's nice to see the diamonds in person to see what it actually looks like, especially with the certain settings for the engagement ring. Cleanliness: this store is SPOTLESS. It's always very bright and very clean on each of our visits. Their bathroom are also so clean that I wouldn't mind eating dinner in there...! lol. The front desk staff has always been very friendly. They offer complimentary tea, coffee, water and specialty drinks during your visit. Thanks Kim Kellam for making our shopping experience a wonderful one! read more

Great place to buy some gifts. Great service. Tricia was nice and polite. Will come back again

It's hard to write a review on a store such as this because I don't go ring shopping very often. Haha. I feel like this is a once in a lifetime deal. So I don't have much to compare it to. But I'll have to say, as a first time engagement ring shopper, my boyfriend and I had a very pleasant experience here. I don't know much about rings. And I've never been one of those girls who has dreamed of getting married since she was little. I honestly just had two requests. I wanted a rock you didn't need a magnifying glass to see, and it needed to sit low profile on my finger, due to the nature of my job. Other than that I had no a clue as to what I liked or wanted. Walking into the store you are greeted by a receptionist behind what Im assuming is bulletproof glass. I guess this is normal? Its a little intimidating, but makes sense. There's a cop in there too. Yikes. This place means business. Anyway you get buzzed in and are greeted then by your diamond specialist. We didn't have an appointment (I'm not even sure if that's a thing) but we were introduced to Olga, who was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. Olga sat us down and opened up a booklet and talked to us/explained a little bit about the diamonds, the background of Diamonds Direct, HER background, and what to expect. I was overwhelmed. Not by anything she had done, just because, well, it's a lot if you know nothing about the process. But Olga was very patient with me, and the fact that I asked the same questions over and over. Ha. There were many decisions that I just COULDN'T make. Ring sizing, different diamonds on different settings. I would just stare at some combinations we made up for minutes, and she quietly sat there with me, ready if I had any questions, but was never pushy. I felt like we had her attention the entire time which was reassuring. All in all we had a very pleasurable experience. I'm pretty sure a ring was purchased that day, but my boyfriend is keeping it a secret. He does keep saying how pressure-free and comfortable the experience was though, which makes me happy that he was happy. Thanks Olga for making this such a great experience for us!! read more

Diamonds Direct - Matching platinum rings. Mine (man's) was custom made with my mother's stones. - Jewelry Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

I was introduced to Diamond Consultant Moe Sablan and Diamond's Direct when I began my search for an diamond engagement ring. This is a scary process for any man! I live in Maryland so this made the process more difficult, or so I thought. I was referred to Moe by a friend. When I contacted her, she was not working that day so I left a message. Much to my surprise, I received a text message from her about 30 minutes later! We agreed we would talk the next day when she returned to work. As promised, Moe reached out to me. She listed to what I was looking for, got right on it and began searching for the diamond I wanted. She was able to locate several diamonds that she believed would satisfy my needs. She wanted to personally inspect the stone herself so it needed to be shipped to her location. She explained the process and advised I was under no obligation to purchase any diamond they had shipped to the store. She was so caring and listened to me; I trusted her without hesitation. When the stone was delivered to the Virginia Beach location, Moe contacted me. She sent me a video of the stones and gave me her opinion on which one she believed was the best stone for me. It wasn't even the most expensive one! I purchased the loose stone and had them make the ring. I received the ring earlier this week when it was shipped overnight via FedEx. I was so delighted when I saw the ring. It was every bit as beautiful in person as it was on video. Thank you Moe for being so wonderful to work with. I never, and I mean never, write a review. I had to in this case. If you are considering a jewelry purchase, I highly recommend contacting Moe Sablan at the Virginia Beach Diamond's Direct location. As was my case, you don't even need to visit the store to me completely satisfied. Thank you again Moe, you ROCK!! read more

Lonnie is the best! He did an amazing job helping my fiancé and I pick out our bands and also find the perfect setting to replace my old ring. It's the newest place to get Diamond jewelry and loose stones. When you first walk in, you are greeted by a receptionist that have to buzz you in to the main store. There's also a police officer on the premise watching everyone's every move! There's plenty of beautiful pieces that seems to be reasonable priced. We also looked at loose diamond to get a sense of pricing and quality. That too was priced very fair. If they don't have your particular spec they will get it for you. Their motto is they cut the middle man out and you are buying direct from mining. They definitely have way better quality diamonds then your big box retail store. Didn't take any pix of the inside bc I wasn't trying to get arrested having the police thinking I was casing the store :-) read more

Chen and Kim helped my fiancé and me with a past purchase verifying the type of gold setting we had. They showed us the GIA number in the microscope and with a magnifying glass for the diamond. The jeweler on site showed us how they verify the type of gold for the setting it was. They were extremely patient and really wanted to ensure our trust and satisfaction. We were very happy about this. Then we looked for matching wedding bands. They have an incredible selection and we found what matched best for us. I have to say they were so professional, patient and kind to us. We felt extremely happy and satisfied. We would definitely go back for any jewelry purchase in the future. read more

I'm a long time costumer of another commercial jewelry store! I have driven past this location several times! So looking for a Christmas gift I decided to stop in. Okay this place is pretty serious, it most definitely feels like a diamond shop, they look you over and then buzz you in. Once in you are greeted immediately and given the sales rep entire attention. To me this is a nice touch, I had Olga who listen to what I was looking for and my prize range. The jewelry all looks amazing, maybe it's the lighting and a combination of the diamonds! I was looking for a bracelet which ultimately a found one! It wasn't your run of the mill diamond bracelet, this baby was exactly what I was looking for! Prices are pretty good, very comparable to most jewelry shops! I left feeling great about my purchase! I looked on line for a similar bracelet and seen them price about $2000 more than I paid. Also I liked that you didn't need to purchase any protection plans or have it inspected regularly and they have an on the spot repair shop! Will be returning! read more

Literal tears! Had an awful experience with Jared when they said I was 1 day late for inspection and my warranty was invalid so they wouldn't help with the diamond that fell out of my set. The most amazing experience of my (our) life thanks to Jeff Hawkins. My fiancé took me here in search of an engagement ring and Jeff made it the most pleasant experience. Picking out our own diamond is truly a memory we will never forget. Plus, Jeff complimented me on my good eye for diamonds. Which in the end, gave us the best diamond! My experience with Diamonds Direct has been fabulous, but more than any other factor, it comes down to Al, who is the finest representative you could ever hope to work with. When I came into the store, I was looking for an engagement ring - as important a decision as I will ever make. However, this was my first real jewelry purchase, which added to my apprehension. Al was incredibly patient with all of my questions and treated me with the utmost respect - I had A LOT of questions! He listened very carefully to exactly what I envisioned. Not only that, he provided me with a personal level of care that is rare to find these days. He guided me to the perfect ring and stone combination which have exceeded all my expectations and made my fiancee feel truly special - all at a price point that fit my budget and left me feeling thoroughly satisfied that I received a good deal. It's been over six months since I proposed to my fiancee and she is still receiving compliments on her ring - daily - and I haven't forgotten the unparalleled service I received from Al. I'm thrilled with the results. Al, thank you for your kindness and patience. You not only made a sale that day, but also a friend, and I'm looking forward to doing business with you again. read more

My husband and I came in here to look for a new wedding ring for our ten year anniversary. The security in this place is no joke! We came into the atrium and since we had never been here before we were a little confused by the second door. They have a police officer on staff at all times so I felt completely safe leaving my bag to get a drink or look at this case or that. I showed them my five year band and she was happy to take it and have it rhodium plated for me free of charge and get it all clean and shiny. I was floored. So we look at rings and I found one I absolutely loved. We picked a diamond and did all the customization and they brought my band back out and I was in tears! The band I loved so so much just did NOT fit with the new ring. She did not get impatient or upset with me. We just started looking again. We found a new ring and it was perfect. Fit my band perfectly and she even colored the side diamonds to show me how the ring would look after they replaced them with the stones I wanted!! I was floored that she would sharpie diamonds for me! After all was said and done we spent about 2 and a half hours in the store and our sale lady was amazing the whole time. Definitely see Wendy. They have great accommodations here while you wait for this or that. Water, coffee machine etc. the bathroom was clean and beautiful. They even have a kids area though it's more for young kids. I feel 100% comfortable with my experience here and the warranty is phenomenal. I can't wait to receive my custom wedding ring!!!! read more

I bought a diamond online and brought it to Diamonds Direct with my girlfriend to pick out a ring.  It's just easier for both of us to try on actual rings than look at pictures. Getting past the security door and armed guard, we were greeted and given mimosas. My girlfriend and I thought "pretty fancy place" and it is. A lot of money went into the store.  So, they definitely have some capital investment.  It was busy when we went in, but we did get to see the different designer rings on display inside their respective cases. After waiting about 20 minutes for someone to show us the rings, we just thought we'd come back the next day when it wouldn't be as busy. There were only so many salespeople available and we understand that.  So we got up from the little lounge area and left the store. The next day, we returned and it was relatively empty. After getting another mimosa, we were finally able to have my girlfriend try on a couple styles. And she found one that she really liked. Here's where it turns sour.   I explained that I already have the main diamond and we're looking to just buy the ring from them. Rather than accepting this as our preference, I was asked where I bought the diamond, what its "4 C's" were and how much I paid. Figuring it was just a standard question to see if my diamond would "fit" into their ring, I brought out the diamond and the GIA certificate that I got from Blue Nile.  The salesgirl said that I probably overpaid and that I should return the diamond and I could get a better deal from Diamonds Direct. I'm not joking. She actually said that to me and my girlfriend.  That's when I said "Thank you for the suggestion, but we'll be taking our business elsewhere".  And we did.  Unless their management and employees change the way they operate, this business, despite it's lavish store and product, will fail in the long run. read more

Nice jewelry, but poorly trained salespeople. Not the least bit concerned with the words "I'd like to spend $3000 and no more". Was shown rings that were in the $6000-7000 range which leads me to believe that they work on commission or I'm part of their sales quota. I don't like this high pressure sales tactic. Hey, if you don't mind spending twice as much as you budgeted, then by all means go to Diamonds Direct. Thinking it was just this particular salesperson, I did a follow up visit and the same thing happened. Only, this time, I got a sarcastic sales lady who chided me for being "cheap". She said it half-jokingly, only it wasn't funny. I'm dealing with (costly) medical issues right now and it's not your place to decide whether my budget is cheap or not. It's none of your concern. On the company Facebook page it mentions "we know every customer has a budget". That was certainly not the case with me and I gave this company two instances to see if they live up to their marketing pitch. Wrapping this up, they need better management in this store. The employees should be given sensitivity training and realize that this is not the way to treat customers. You've lost this sale. Thanks for reading my opinion. -Frank read more

We originally walked into Diamonds Direct looking for engagement ring band ideas, as we had already found our center stone at James Allen. Al Perry greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, and then let us browse on our own. When I wanted to see a ring, he was right there. Never pushy - just warm and friendly, easy to talk to, and seemed genuinely happy at our happiness. His occasional suggestions were extremely helpful, and his 40-year experience and knowledge about the "everyday wear" pros and cons of the different settings I picked was invaluable. Al asked if we had purchased our diamond yet, and we had not... He immediately grabbed Chen, one of the diamond experts, and no joke, not 10 minutes later, Chen had found our exact diamond and was in the process of having it shipped to the Diamonds Direct in VB. He had also found 2 other similar diamonds to bring in as well, just so that we would have options. I must have tried on at least 50 bands, and Al Perry had the patience of a saint the entire time. When I finally found the perfect setting, he went above and beyond by showing me how I could tweak the setting to help it perform better for me in everyday life. The center stone is on the larger side, so he suggested that I do a European shank. This design weights the band on the bottom and is shaped in such a way that, when you place your hand on a flat surface, the center stone will always right itself to the perfect center position on top of your finger! All in all, our experience here was exciting, fun, and totally enjoyable. We would highly recommend, and I will be back when it's my turn to purchase his band :) read more

We went shopping for a new mounting for diamonds that we had in existing rings. My wife's main diamond mount snapped off her wedding ring. We went to a local jeweler that had been recommended by a close friend. And while the jeweler was quite competent and made excellent recommendations we decided we wanted to compare. Our next stop was Diamonds Direct in Virginia Beach, VA. We were greeted right away and asked what brought us in today. The greeter set us up with Olga. Olga was charming and obviously knew the diamond business and explained how Diamonds Direct worked differently than a customary jeweler and how that translated into savings for the consumer now and down the road. Olga gave us the same advice as the first jeweler. That the existing diamonds were too small to really work with other than my wife's main diamond and that it would be best price wise and result wise to choose a new ring. She educated us on cut, color, clarity and overall what makes an excellent diamond and then proceeded to show us new rings based on what my wife was looking for in a ring. She showed us several possibilities to narrow down exactly what my wife was searching for. At no time was she pushy she simply guided us through the decision process. The perfect ring was chosen but was a bit over our budget and Olga managed to get the price into an acceptable price point for us. In addition, she offered to take my wife's main diamond and place it in a pendant setting at no additional cost. She also arranged for my wedding band to be re-brushed at no additional cost. All ready for pickup next day. Great customer experience all the way around. Additionally, their available stock in store was the largest selection of jewelry of all types I've seen anywhere in our area. Bruce & Jeanne M. read more

When stopped by a few months ago without an appointment looking for our wedding bands. Derek had no hesitation in helping us. He immediately recognized my engagement ring as an heirloom piece, as it was my grandmom's original engagement ring. He helped me pick out the perfect band to match it. My now husband was extremely picky in his band (as he should be!) But Derek was so patient with him, giving no pressure and not trying to steer us too expensive or too cheap. He kept track of which styles were appealing to him and pointed out others that he may like as well. Together they picked a beautiful band that he loves. We were able make payments on our timeline, which I loved. And when we came in for the last payment, the rings had come back cheaper than expected and they passed that onto us and so we bought a necklace I'd been eyeing too! All 3 pieces made our wedding so special and we'll cherish them forever. read more
