Honestly you wouldn't think to use them off the bat because of overall location. BUT, you walk in and get individualized service, way better than any commercial stores. My silver Greek key ring was resized, my husbands platinum ring was reshaped and buffed, and my Diamond ring had a small Diamond replaced on the band. I was so relieved to get them back in such great shape! The last place I took my ring to (in South Carolina) they did such a poor job. We recently brought in my wife's engagement ring and wedding band that was custom made 20 years ago by someone else. A few stones kept falling out so we needed a Solution. My plan was to just upgrade my existing set but I ended up with the MOST gorgeous brand new set. I am absolutely in love with it. Not only that, my existing set was made into a mother's ring using my kids birthstones. It's so special to me because I didn't have to stop wearing my existing ring. Ryan and his staff are top notch, everyone is kind and friendly. My knowledge on jewelry is limited and that was obvious but no one tried to take advantage of that. I stopped by their place a few days ago. I had just inherited a gorgeous diamond ring. It was from the 1920-1930's. I wanted to know more about it, so I figured they would probably be as good as anybody else. I handed my ring to a woman that was working there that day, and she gave the ring to the gentleman in the back who does all of the repair work. I'm not sure what she said to him but about five minutes later he came out and he offered me $125 for the ring. I told him I was not there to sell it that I just wanted more information on the it. He told me two rows of the diamonds were unusual because they're the old cut European diamonds that you don't see anymore. He also told me it was only 10 karat gold, and I knew that was not true. Anyhow, to make a long story short, I ended up taking the ring to a reputable jewelers and getting a appraisal on it. The ring appraised for $6500. It's all 18 karat gold and the diamonds are exquisite they told me. I will never step foot into this store again. The reviews are all over the place. I guess it depends on who you get that particular day. Terrible, terrible place. Be very cautious. They should rename their place, Tidewater & Crooks Diamonds. read more

I bought a gorgeous diamond and sapphire ring from an estate store in Charleston that needed resizing. It was a super tiny 3 3/4 (whose finger is that small?!?) that needed to be a 10 (yes, like everything else about me my fingers are big). I didn't realize I was asking a lot but I quickly realized not all jewelers resize in platinum or in house. After doing some research I rang TD on a Friday evening and was told to bring it by Saturday morning and if lucky, I might have it back same day. I've had many rings resized and have NEVER had them back the same day and certainly not something done in platinum. Hubby and I rolled up around 10:30 Saturday morning and was quoted a price and advised it might be done before the day was out. I didn't really expect much because of my past experiences with other jewelers and ring resizing but I'll be danged if they didn't call back at 1:30 letting me know my ring was ready. I was pleasantly shocked and super pleased with not only the blazingly fast turn around time, but the quality of the resizing and the customer service. This was the second time I've been to this shop for work and left wondering "why did I even bother?" I wanted a new wedding ring made from my grandfathers jewelry and my wedding band and was told it was doable and would take 2 weeks to complete.
