Figured they knew what they were doing, but all they did was watch the water rise to the top of the hole and flow out, carrying wet cement all over the lawn and driveway. Their only reaction was, "We don't clean up. You signed a contract." Now we have to spend several months smashing apart chunks of cement and removing debris from our grey lawn and driveway.

I called the company that installed some well equipment when we bought the house on their "24 hour emergency line," which was not answered. They called me back two hours later and told me they could come in a few days and offered no guidance over the phone even though I told them my basement was actively flooding and asked what to do. Meanwhile I'm triaging with buckets and a de-humidifier to keep up with the flow. I called the first place that popped up on Google, which happened to be HydroWells. I explained the situation, and Elba, one of the owners, told me not to worry and they'd have someone out there at 7PM. She and her husband, Javier, the other owner, came actually at 6:45PM, were so kind and lovely and had the issue fixed within a half hour. They also showed me the issue and gave me a bit of an education, which I appreciated. And they didn't gouge me on the price even with the emergency. I won't ever go back to my previous well company. Unfortunately, both experiences have left me disappointed -- and more importantly, concerned about trust. Regarding the pressure tank: during installation, their team very likely observed an older, visibly corroded metal well intake pipe that had likely been in place for nearly 20 years under prior ownership. Fast forward to today -- I noticed heavy white corrosion on the 4.5-year-old brass fitting and an active water leak. Given the risk of catastrophic failure, I called for urgent service. To their credit, they arrived within two hours, which I appreciated. However, I was then told the metal pipework was not covered under the tank warranty and that it should be replaced with stainless steel -- which they acknowledged would last longer and resist corrosion better than the prior installation -- at a cost of $1,400. When a contractor identifies visibly corroded infrastructure during an install, I expect clear risk disclosure and upgrade options at that time -- not four years later when failure is imminent and the homeowner has little choice. Now to the RO system: at installation, I was told the filters were widely available commercially and easy to replace. I later learned the filters are proprietary and only sold through water system companies -- not readily available via retail as originally represented. That distinction materially affects long-term cost and flexibility. Years later, I called to ask how to sanitize the RO system myself. I was told it's something only they can do and that they would handle sanitization when delivering the next set of filters (rather than shipping them), which I accepted. After the technician sanitized the lines, he casually told me, "You know you can sanitize the lines yourself." That is exactly what I had asked about over the phone. I relied on their guidance, only to hear the opposite in person. For tradespeople working inside a home -- especially on critical water infrastructure -- trust and clarity are foundational. When guidance changes, material limitations aren't disclosed up front, or foreseeable corrosion isn't proactively addressed, it raises concerns beyond just cost. While I appreciate the prompt emergency response, the combination of reactive fixes, proprietary product limitations, and inconsistent communication has made this an unsatisfactory experience overall.

He took a look at the ducts in the furnace room and said that cleaning the ducts would not help as they are already clean. He recommended changing the air filter a bit more frequently and said that the dust was probably normal. Next, I asked him to look at our dryer vent/tube. He said he would need to come back for that, and he did - on time. Wow! He quickly and efficiently cleared out the dryer tube, vent, and dryer filter. He showed me before and after pictures. He also advised me on how to clean the dryer more efficiently with a long bristle brush and flat vacuum hose nozzle. Very friendly, polite, on-time, and reasonably priced. So we were referred to them to come out to help get our hvac unit up and running. He came out and…read moreoverrode the delay switch on the actual HVAC unit system that's outside because he said we didn't need it because we also have the same delay switch thing on the thermostat inside He didn't check the air handler or anything else and said it was that . He hooked hoses and said our Freon was fine and that everything else was working properly. So paid him cash and almost 6 hours later the house stayed at a hot 80 degrees in the hall and actually got to 86 degrees in the kitchen as we have a magnetic thermostat which sits on the side of the refrigerator . So my husband texted him to tell him and he actually said to give our unit some more time to cool down the house !! Now I'm not an HVAC technician but I'm also not a moron. I know it does not take six hours to put a temperature of 77° in the house from 80 which in almost 6 hours that's what happened. He refused to come back out and it was 5 o clock. Wants to wait to see if it'll cool off overnight Meanwhile I'm on dialysis and have been very sick for some time and the thought of another night of 80-82 degrees is very difficult to deal with considering I do my treatments at home now in a hot sweltering room! So meanwhile the original company that's on vacation and personally got ahold of No Frost Air to help us wasn't much help either in trying to help and what the most horrible part is we ended up getting ahold of our neighbor who's friends father owns a HVAC company and they came right out !!!! So mind you another service Call $$$ in less than 6 hours.... The problem was the actual COMPRESSOR IS BAD AND WAS BAD ALL ALONG BUT NO FROST AIR TOOK ADVANTAGE BY TRYING TO ALTER OUR SYSTEM and say it needed more time to cool down which is still mind blowing to me ... The incompetence and the dishonesty of this company's owner is appalling to me that he could even do something like this and then tell my husband to wait until our prior hvac company owner comes back from vacation to address the problem with our HVAC not working and cooling our house ..
