I hired Atlas Home Energy Solutions and I thought they did a good job except for the insulation. I think they sub contract this out and the guys who did this did not do a good job. All my ceiling lights were pushed out and they came a couple of days later and pushed them back. From that time onwards the lights in the dining room and kitchen would flicker and finally go out completely. Initially we thought it would right itself but it continued to do this and I tried contacting them, twice, without any response. I will try one more time and then if I do not hear from them, I will bring down the stars to one or zero if I can do it. read more

TOP NOTCH PROFESSIONALS I emailed Atlas for an energy audit because I felt my bills were too high and I also suspected that I needed to have windows replaced in my 47 year-old home. I already knew that the energy rating for the attic insulation was no longer sufficient. I was contacted by Kris Canning and he arranged an audit which was very thorough and I was emailed an 18-page audit analysis and an 8-page detailed proposal which outlined problem areas, solutions and costs. The day of the audit he also replaced all of the light bulbs in my home with LEDs if they did not already have them. The proposal included photos of the areas of concern so it was easy for me to know where the problem areas were. It was good to know that my windows did not need to be replaced but there were significant areas of air leaks in the attic and basement. I accepted most of the proposal suggestions and a work schedule was arranged. Keith and Carl re-routed a bathroom fan duct through the roof and provided me with photos of the work that was done. I can already detect improved efficiency of the fan because of that work. There were two days of insulation that began with spray foam sealing around plumbing, mechanical and electrical access areas, and band joints in the basement and the dropped ceiling that had been allowing air leaks. This was followed by installing blown loose- fill insulation in the attic. I wish I could remember the names of all the crew members because they were all professional, polite, hard workers and should be recognized and commended for their work. The crew leaders that I worked with were Hector, Lal and Fernando and they all made sure I was satisfied with the work and that all questions were answered. Throughout the process, they protected walls, furnishings, etc. with plastic sheeting; they wore shoe covers or removed their shoes when necessary. Areas were always thoroughly cleaned and questions always answered. There were a few minor areas of damage that occurred, (not totally unexpected because of the scope of the work) but these were repaired on another day with no expense to me. Even though the contract stated that they would not be responsible for matching colors for things that might need to be touched up, Lal purchased stain sticks for areas of touch up on paneling and bought new ceiling tiles to replace some that had cracked. Hopefully this was not out-of-pocket for him and that he will be reimbursed; he was just so focused on correcting the damage that had occurred. I cannot say enough about every person that was here from this company and the ladies I spoke with on the phone. I wish all companies had the integrity and professionalism of Atlas; their work ethic is unequaled. I am not using the heat pump at this time, so it is hard for me to know the true benefit, but I am certain there will be a change in my energy bills. There was a significant change in ventilation noted with the repeated door blow test; they do a final test out to make sure ventilation has been improved. I highly recommend an energy audit with this company. To top it off, I do qualify for a $2600 rebate from Potomac Edison. This was truly a win-win situation. read more

Run don't walk! Abandoned job in the middle of a project after they ripped down half my existing insulation. Have so far refused to put it back. NO communication after repeated phone calls and emails. Weeks went by with no response and then, finally they made up a bunch of bogus claims that I would need to excavate the crawlspace which would cost me $30,000. Not true, their own people told me the job could be done. Work was abandoned on 11/18 and still no resolution on 12/27. Communication is poor internally as well, as they keep sending workers to my house to do other projects that were part of the scope. No one clued them in. Poor management on all levels. read more

I was looking for a company to do a home energy audit as I am sure from my home inspection report that, at the very least, additional insulation is needed in the attic. I called Atlas Home Energy Solutions since it is one of the contractors approved by my utility company (Potomac Edison). Atlas refused to do the audit because my home is too new and would not lead to enough work to justify the audit, at least that is what the guy at Atlas told me. Now that I am sure that I need additional insulation, I will go elsewhere and I would not recommend Atlas to anyone for any reason. read more

Took about 5 days of intense work. Glad I didn't have to do it. They always cleaned and vacuumed after each day. Very polite, professional crew, easy to work with and around. Each day I received a full explanation of what was done and shown pictures to verify it. They showed the utmost concern for all my furniture and household, carefully placing plastic around items.
