The $5.95 pocket bun. Should be 3.95 or less

Concur with the other reviews that there is a value issue with some of the items. The portion sizes are good (in terms of how large a meal should be), but the pricing is wrong. Their signature buns are less than 10cm in diameter and 3cm high, with a small amount of filling. An angus burger from McDonald's is twice the size for the same price. At $5.95, this is Chinese bun is not fair value. If the filling and size were equivalent to a shawarma or falafel pita, this would be ok, but this bun should be 2.99...maybe 3.95 Their dumplings are average size, but at 8.99, again, too much. Their dumplings should be 5.99. On a positive note, the taste for both items were spot on - not spectacular, but good and competent. The noodles at $10 is fair and one of the tastiest I've had. Would recommend this item and avoid everything else until their pricing is fixed.

Ordered the sour spicy glass noodles and the potato filled pancake with beef. Comes to 21 dollars. Love the noodle soup. Savoury and sour. Extremely delicious. The pancake was really plain this time. Last time I ordered here it was a lot better. Make sure to ask the owner to add more spice and numbing peppers if you like heavy taste.

Sad amount of filling. Can you even see it?!?

Gave this place a try and ordered the #1 house special beef bun. First bite, the beef texture felt soft and mushy. Then there was an overwhelming wave of spicy-ness from the numbing peppercorns. Then I waited to see if I can taste anything else, nope. Could not taste any of the meat, just spicy-ness throughout. Finally, the there was a disappointing amount of filling (see my picture). Sorry, but compared to the Xian-Chinese hamburgers that I've had, this would have been a 1 star. I will give you an extra star in hopes that you can improve.

This is a very awesome Chinese SICHUAN cousine because everything here is homemade. If you like spicy food, don't miss it! Guokui is very delicious and convenient for take out if you are in a rush, and their prices are reasonable. BIG THUMBS UP!

I pushed the meat out for the pic.. In reality the amount of meat isn't that much

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.

From the service to the food to the drink.. this place was absolutely fabulous…read more The server (I don't remember his name but he had a great easy going personality) broke the ice asking if we really came all the way to Toronto from Los Angeles just to watch the dodgers play there, that he'd much rather go to LA. The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
